This was released yesterday but doesn't seem to have been given much coverage, possibly because it's not been able to draw any conclusions.

I had found the evidence presented by the IDF to be fairly convincing, so I found this an unsettling watch (even though it does not prove that they were responsible).

I expect I shall get criticism from those who have claimed from the start that the IDF are liars, and more criticism from those who see posting this as siding with the terrorist narrative.

I'm still struggling to fully comprehend the enormity and nuances of this conflict.

I’ve been thinking about this all day, OP, and the fact that people don’t seem to be talking about it. I’ve been wondering why that is. If true, it makes me wonder what else has been manipulated.

I guess the first casualty of war is truth.

What did make me pause for thought was Jordan's response to the bombing, but the recording seemed fairly convincing. Naive I know.

I think it's crazy that the Israeli Foreign Ministry are spending no time and money on sponsored ads relating to the conflict during a time of war. It's also scary that the audio recording was manipulated 😔

I'm now skeptical that even if they do find definitive proof that the audio recording was fabricated or something else that proves the IDL did target the hospital, it wouldn't get much coverage in the mainstream UK press.

Guardian reporting the following this morning:

"An assessment by French military intelligence indicates the most likely cause of the deadly explosion at Gaza City’s Al-Ahli hospital was a Palestinian rocket that carried an explosive charge of about 5kg (11 pounds) and possibly misfired, a senior French military official has said."

Also:
"The report came as Canada’s defence department said Israel was not behind the hospital explosion on Tuesday night.
Reuters quoted the National Department of Defence as saying in a statement: “Analysis conducted independently by the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command indicates with a high degree of confidence that Israel did not strike the Al-Ahli hospital on 17 October 2023.”

Um Iron Dome??

Hamas are a terrorist organisation who gang rape women, behead babies, and mass slaughter their own people. YES they are evil.

Jesus fucking Christ we've got people who despise Jews so much they're willing to defend an actual literal terrorist organisations.

SomeCatFromJapan · 22/10/2023 08:17

Nah. Hamas are just that evil, they bombed their own hospital with ordnance they secretly never used when it would be most useful. That makes more sense.

Tbf after 7 October I'd be comfortable describing Hamas as evil.

They actively court as high a number of civilian deaths as possible for PR purposes as well.

BethDuttonsTwin · 22/10/2023 08:20

As I said on another thread, you'll hear loads of outrage and hyperbole about incidents that might happen, things that haven't actually been proved etc and as it becomes clear that all is not as it seems, it goes very quiet. Very few on social media retract, just batten down and wait for next "atrocity" they can exhibit their performative "devastation" at. Honestly I'd be embarrassed to behave thus. Whatever happened to ensuring you have as much information as possible before speaking out?

Bookshipper · 22/10/2023 08:24

Israel and the IDF have form when it comes to commiting war crimes and then lying about them, and later being forced to own up to their crimes. I won't list all the instances of this happening, but it's widely available online. This is just a diversion tactic to muddy the waters and get people to argue over, all while the IDF commit even more war crimes.

There's more than enough doubt over the so called Israeli evidence for me to know they did it. Otherwise why would they present so called hamas audio thats been so intwntly doctored and edited? Channel 4 have released a longer video detailing it all for anyone interested.

That, coupled with the heads of the church in Jerusalem who testify that they were informed of Israels intention to bomb the baptist Al Ahli Church everyday for 3 days before the bomb.

As for Israels ally defending their lies. Well Biden himself made a statement that he'd seen proof of the 40 beheaded babies story, only for that story to later be debunked. His statement on it was later deleted. Again, Israels allys and the wider media have form when it comes to taking what Israel claims as gospel truth.

Meanwhile, Israel have now demanded another hospital evacuate, one that's a makeshift home to 12,000 refugees as well as its own sick and injured population.

TurquoiseMermaid · 22/10/2023 08:29

Again, Israels allys and the wider media have form when it comes to taking what Israel claims as gospel truth.

That's a laughable lie.

When Israel was blamed, absolutely everyone - and certainly the media- accepted it without question and without needing proof, because Jews are all evil liars and the propaganda of blood libel runs deep. No one asked for proof when it was Israel being blamed.

When evidence came out that it was Hamas, everyone started screaming they wanted proof proof more proof, none of this proof is good enough, Israel fake everything, Israel is evil, we'll never ever believe Israel, hurray Hamas! Let's go and party and celebrate Jewish babies being slaughtered! Yay terrorism!!

The hospital bombing didn't become controversial until people dared to suggest that maybe it wasn't automatically Evil Israel, maybe the known terrorist organisation with a long history of massacring their own people and using them as human shields did it.

People are willing to believe anything about Israel without proof, but they set a very different bar for Hamas.

Bookshipper · 22/10/2023 08:31

The pro isreal media bias is glaring. Suggesting otherwise is just plain silly.

Channel 4 are the odd ones out. I'm so glad we have them.

SomeCatFromJapan · 22/10/2023 08:34

Should Ch4 be platforming Hamas though? Would that not have been like giving Bin Laden airtime two decades ago?

To people who defend terrorists anything other than "Israel is evil and all Jews should be genocided" is regarded as being pro-Israel.

I never ever see anything pro-Israel, I see nothing but Free Palestine everywhere, by people who aren't from here and don't know anything about my country, and want to reduce a very complex political and historical to Evil Jews Killing Babies (ahh, that old blood libel again), and poor helpless brown people.

It's so white saviourist.

People literally will defend a terrorist organisation rather than admit that Israel has the right to exist. (And no, that's not defending the Israeli government, the Israeli government is fascist and right wing and systemically racist, the Israeli government has certainly commuted war crimes - as have many other countries but people only care about Israel.)

Bookshipper · 22/10/2023 08:37

They're not platforming Hamas. They're taking a bombed hospitality Gaza and asking questions about the Israeli narrative that 'Hamas did it'. A narrative that was flimsy to begin with, and now looks to be false. The channel 4 video on it is very good. Someone upthread also posted screenshots detailing the 'experts' on BBC verify who verified Israels version of events, and how those experts are biased towards Israeli propaganda.

Again this is all widely available and discussed.

IWFH · 22/10/2023 08:38

There are exaggerations, propaganda and bare faced lies from both sides in this (and every) conflict.
It is therefore not unreasonable to require forensic evidence of claims made by either side before believing anything reported from the heat of the conflict.

Wondered how long before we'd get to "Jews control the media."

Bookshipper · 22/10/2023 08:40

Free Palestine only means free palestine. It's not antisemitic or anti Jewish. It means freedom to people living under occupation, in what is basically a concentration camp. It means equal rights for everyone.

As Mandela once said, 'we know too well that freedom is incomplete without the freedom of Palestinians'.

IIRC Bin Laden's videos from his cave in Tora Bora etc featured in broadcasts on MSM of all stripes?

Weefreetiffany · 22/10/2023 08:43

Did nobody else see the videos posted to social media taken by hamas? The one of the crying girl with blood stained trousers being forced into a car, the one of the naked girl tied face down to a truck, the woman and her toddler and baby being kidnapped. People running in the desert from the music festival. Before all the politicking and newspapers began hamas was posting this on Instagram and people were sharing it saying what the fuck? And now suddenly it’s all a conspiracy by the idf? C4 platforms them in a way never given to isis or daesh or Al Qaida, even though they literally take the billions a year given to Palestine in aid and use it to attack Israel and rather than build infrastructure that could actually help Palestinians. But yeah evidence of these attacks are idf propaganda and I’m sure hamas sat around there twiddling their thumbs.
