Oh me too Cavemum, now I'm really worried about the baby...

claireinthecommunity · 20/04/2010 21:56

Awwww he started crying

claireinthecommunity · 20/04/2010 22:04

Ok, don't know why I didn't watch this before, will need to catch up with it.

Watching the mother hold her baby who had been in SCBU for the first time was, well, wonderful.

I'm extra broody now...

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 22:09

Do catch up on the episodes. I think tonights was the third episode. I saw all bar the first one when they were on Channel4 and there are some great ones to come - 2 couples having their first baby and an episode on two babies in the SCBU.

I thought it would freak me out, as I have a pathological bit of a fear of childbirth, but I've really enjoyed it and have cried at some point in every episode. I even caught DH casually wiping his eye when he watched one episode with me .

MrsWajs · 20/04/2010 22:45

Evening!

I've not fallen off the edge of the planet! Just been busy with work and seriously lacking in time to go through this thread properly and catch up with everyone individually! Sorry

Am still temping but now not sure what's happening had a pretty dramatic rise on Monday morning but was out the night before and had a few drinks so not sure if it's alcohol related?? Noticed halo had said something similar. OPK's are still saying negative and temp this morning was slightly lower again but nothing major so really don't know if I'm ovulating yet or not?? Been having (tmi) more discharge but not convinced its EWCM - aaggh help! Totally thought I'd be more in tune this month but now wondering if I'm gonna have another extra long cycle due to further stress!! I think I'm hitting the TTC wall

Sorry for a very self centered post. x

CaveMum · 21/04/2010 06:58

Good morning ladies! I'm sure you all think I need to get a life and stop posting on here quite so much, but here I am again

So, just 18 posts left on this thread (after this one). Who's feeling brave enough to start the new thread?! Certainly won't be me as I think it should be someone who is actively TTC at the moment. It's taken us just over 1 month to fill this thread, so perhaps I will have a go at 'thread-starting' in about 5 threads time!

Happy Wednesday to you all!

evilgiraffe Good thread name! Sorry to hear you are still waiting in limbo land.

cavemum i wasn't trying to push you, just curious. I think i'm going to miss that aspect of the pill if i'm still TTC if/when we book a summer holiday. That dance class sounds like hard work, but good fun.

wannamummy When are you going to POAS? Are you not late now? Or is UCL 28 just based on cycle 1?

aires Argh! Poor you! I hope you aren't scarred for life.

MrsWajs Sorry to hear temping isn't working out too well. It its not helping maybe ditch it and just focus on the most important part (SWI) Hope you are hitting the wall and ov is just around the corner. You really have had a stressful few months but it doesn't mean it won't happen for you.

I have never seen OBEM, sounds like I need to watch it though. Maybe a programme for when DP is out as he was never keen to watch it when it was on normal tv. I'm easily upset by tv though, so sounds like I should have tissues at the ready.

Hope everyone else has a good day. The sun is shining here but I bet it still a bit cold out.

17 posts to go - maybe it will be fun by the time I get home from work!?

luckyseven · 21/04/2010 07:48

halo glad you got your peak and cycle day twelve should make you have a twenty six day cycle this month. If your temps match up you should get a shift in a day or two. From experience alcohol would alwayss raise my temp the next day but fertility friend will look for three days raised temp before indicating ov. Sorry to take up a precious thread but i think some others had the same concern. Hello everyone, should have been flying to sicily right now for my thirtieth but instead going to the west coast of ireland, hope the sun shines!

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 08:05

Hi FF's,

Your positive vibes clearly worked as I got the job
Now I feel terrified! aries it is for a head of year job. AGHHH! Oh well, it doesn't start until August so have some time to get my head round it. I think they might be cross with me if I get pregnant soon after giving me the job but oh well, accidents happen! The extra money will come in handy for TTC plans and the pricy health insurance that we have to take out so dh and I are really pleased!

pil update- all is looking promising... Heathrow is open. Stranded best friend and her dp are on a 6.30pm flight out this evening so an keeping everything crossed that the pils will be gone soon.

Congrats on the peak day flo! Thats the sort of thing that would get me so excited! I love it when FF says I've Ovulated and am in a great mood all day because of it! Sad I know! Hope gfj is doing its job and you got some good swi in last night!

Oh God- Adrian Chiles?!! aries!!!! ERGHHH- I don't know if I could have carried on. I laughed when I read the post before about my job interview, You must have been thinking 'what is she having a job interview at 3am?!' and wondering what type of job I'd applied for ;)

I feel left out- I want to have a baby at Addenbrookes like everyone else! I also want a CBFM like flo and bellaby! [stomps feet in tantrum!]

cavemum- I LOVE dancing. Unfortunately there are not many dance classes around these parts. I used to do Irish dancing for years when I was younger and that was a bloody good work out! You and pinkie must be honed, toned, love machines with all that dancin'! Another thing to be envious of!!!

Oh claire. thats lovely that you and your dh especially learn songs for the couples first dance at a wedding. I bet that is such a special moment for the two of you to be part of. Like I said to bellaby- I love a good wedding and to have a job that involved weddings would be my idea of a perfect job!

Am also a huge fan of OBEM claire and CavemumMy dh loves it too. He says it has really shown him what a man experiences during child birth and has given him an idea of what to expect. I think he was shocked at first about how much hanging around there is but now feels that he is more prepared and could handle it all well. He is always the first to criticise the men on it so we'll see when the time come

wannamummy when will you poas? Lots of people say that they were convinced that AF wa co,ing when they got their BFP as they had AF type cramps so you never know... fingers crossed for you hun. Reading this just before eating my lunch and talk of your sausage and pasta bake is making me even more hungry. MMMM. You can't get good sausages here- I really miss tesco's pork and apple ones ;(

mrswajs I know what you mean! Sometimes it's just information overload isn't it?! You expect to feel more informed and help TTC but just end up more confused! Are you using fertility friend? I have found that really useful as I just input my data and it plots all of the points for you and it puts a big fat red gross across the graph when it predicts that you have ovulated. You can compare graphs too so you look for patterns between your cycles. I've only been using it for two cycles and I've found it really helps. Sorry if you're already using it and I've just waffled on! I would just rely on temping and FF as I know I would go mad if I was getting conflicting advice from OPKs too. I know that some people swear by them but I have also heard lots of people who say that they are not very reliable- like everything I guess. I've not used them personally but perhaps one of the other girls has? Perhaps you could post on the grads and see if they had any success with OPKs?

kaloki- I am sure that you know what is best for you and your body and that you'll be able to make an informed decision when the time comes (which will be soon, I know ) xx

Good idea for thread title evilgiraffe we def need some new recruits so that cavemum and I aren't lonely when we start to actually ttc- You'll all have your BFPs by then so we need some new crazy baby ladies! Gald your doc is being proactive. Fingers crossed for good bloods on thurs.

Have a great day- half way to the weekend. Wooo and hopefully it will be pil free!

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 08:21

Sorry- I have had my post minimized all day as been typing it when I got a few spare mins and that means I've crossed posts with flo, lucky and cavemum

You HAVE to watch OBEM flo- my dh loves it (see above!) so you never know about yours?!

sorry about your flight lucky althought Ireland will be gorgeous. Whereabouts on the West coast are you going? I've been before and it is so relaxing and beautiful! What day is your birthday? I think the weather is meant to be great this weekend. How is the pregnancy progressing?

cavemum- I'll race you to the thread in five months time

Ariesgirl · 21/04/2010 08:35

Well done on the job Flick. Brilliant!

Can anyone explain to me how Fertility Friend works exactly?

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 08:54

Hi aries- Thanks!

What would you like to know?

It is free- yay! and you sign up on www.fertilityfriend.com/

When you sign up they send you a series of 'lessons' via email to help you but it's really simple to work out!

You then input your temps each morning and record your cm (nice!)

Here is a link to where you can hopefully see what my chart looks like.. You can see that it shows when I ov although this does not appear until about three days after.

www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/index.php?interface=0

Does that help? Let me know if you have any questions as it is my new favourite thing

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 08:55

whoops heres the link:

Flick'sFF chart

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 09:02

Oh god- ignore me! I don't think that works. Having a blonde moment! Hope what I've written helps anyway!

Ariesgirl · 21/04/2010 09:10

I have to log in to see your chart! I have chosen a really lame username, even more so than Ariesgirl. I have a bit of trepidation in case it tells me I'm not ovulating or something and I have to actually do something about it instead of just coasting along . Don't really know why I suspect I'm not ovulating - slightly varying cycle length, lack of CM for two months in a row and can only remember mid cycle pain once in the last three months. I only ever twinge on my right side and on the left side there's never any feeling. But then I am having regular AFs, even if they vary by 2-3 days. Oh I don't know! Actually it sounds as though I'm a prime example of someone who should use FF!

Ariesgirl · 21/04/2010 09:13

God, can you believe that I just signed up and I've already forgotten what my username is! What an utter twat I'm seriously worried I have early dementia.

Ariesgirl · 21/04/2010 09:25

I'm finding it really hard to log on and it's stressing me out so much that I'll have to leave it I think
I keeps asking me to fill in the reg form and I do and agree to the terms and conditions and I press submit and it goes back to it blank. The email I received had a different password to the one I chose.

I'm feeling all weepy FFS! I am truly pathetic

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 10:08

When I get home I will pretend to set up a new account and talk you through it. Someone might get there before me so hang in there love!

felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 10:14

Have you tried logging in after you've agreed to T&Cs with the weird password that they sent you? I have to log in with the details they sent me in my email and the password is a weird number letter one. Once you log in and are up and running its easy I promise

Kaloki · 21/04/2010 11:13

Last couple of message before the new thread. I appear to have broken the luck! Sorry

I'm off to Whipsnade Zoo in a bit, as my birthday treat. I'm the grand old age of 26 today. I only just got used to telling people I was 25! Where does the year go?!

Me and DP both loved OBEM, we particularly love Joy, she was very funny.

OP posts:
felicityFlick · 21/04/2010 11:25

Happy Birthday lovely Kaloki

Have a great day at Whipsnade- I took a school trip there (not from HK I might add! ) a couple of years ago and we all loved it. 26 was one of my favourite ages so best wishes for a brilliant year with a BFP very soon!

Sorry, I'm wittering on and wasting the thread

CaveMum · 21/04/2010 11:58

Happy birthday kaloki - only 2 posts left and another thread is done!

Someone put a new one up quick!

Ariesgirl · 21/04/2010 12:38

Oh to be 26! Many happy returns Hokey Kokey. Maybe you win your baby this year.

Waste waste waste.

WASTE WASTE WASTE!

So there! Oh I'll do it

maamalady · 21/04/2010 12:46
