Just a quick post from me as I'm on my lunchbreak. Someone at work announced their pregnancy this morning and now a facebook friend is going to be a dad. Its hard to be happy for them when inside you are a raging green monster ! I feel for those of you who seem to find this a daily event as its a really bad feeling.

Dinky Ooh good news about the house. You think you'll go for it or wait for somewhere you both agree on? Living in a flat my next home will definatly be a house with a garden. Great for BBQ's and kids to play out in and of course somewhere for my future puppy to play too!

wannamummy Good luck whenever you decide to test.

Headbanger No idea about your spotting i'm afraid. Was it after sex this cycle? NHS direct sounds like a good shout from capricorn Enjoy your bike ride, sounds like a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.

applecharlotte I've updated your UCL to 26 days. Thats not a bad cycle length at all as its in the normal range.

womanly It certainly is a rollercoaster ride. I hope you are ok as you seem quite down about it.

Anyway I best go back to work. Hope everyone else has a good afternoon.

MrsWajs · 13/04/2010 14:58

Afternoon all!

Sorry I've been lurking again, short of being on here every couple of hours to see what's been written, I can't keep up - this thread just moves too fast for me!!

Anyway I'm going to make a vain attempt at catching up with everyone from when I was last on so here goes....

Cavemum I am absolutley sick that I wasn't online on Friday night to check your tip for the national!!! I had said to DP about you and meant to check it but never had time - sad times, needless to say I won naff all and DP won £2.95 on Black Apalachi!

Capricorn Congratulations on your long awaited BFP - an inspirational story indeed

Bellaby Loved the link to DH/DP disaster stories!! Very funny!

Dinkytinky Oooooh, excited about your shithole project - sounds right up my street! I love a challenge! Hope you and your DP can come to some agreement over it! And LOL @ the biscuit tin story, sounds a lot like the town I live in these days! DP ok now - got his plaster off yesterday and turns out wrist wasn't broken at all - so a week off work for nothing. Although he is saying it's still painful he is back to work tomorro!

Haloflo I noticed you were saying that you were just about to start tempoing now? Is there a certain time when you should be doing it or not? Think I started vaguely on CD1 but haven't been doing it everyday as not always remembering but on the whole I think I'm doing it ok. Just concerned now as I'll start back on shift work on Thursday which means I'll be getting up at 05.50 instesad of my usual 08.30 and wondering how much it's gonna throw my temps of?? Any ideas??

Pinkie Glad your DD visit went well over the weekend!! How old is she again? As for your long cycle, I would try not to worry about it too much, I had a 45 day cycle last month after being relatively regular for the last 7 cycles and think a lot of that was attributed to stress with DP's ex etc. So even just the prospect of meeting DD and the ex could have set you back a little bit?? I've also found that the Drs would be very unlikely to do anything for you just yet anyway as I never got very far, just told to keep waiting for AF and then continue TTC for at least a year before I go back!!!

Calyx If you're still lurking about on your i-phone, I think we are almost cycle buddies this month!!

Applecharlotte Sorry AF got you - it's a total pisser when she get's you early!

Womanlytales Good luck with POAS next week!

MissHooHaa Keeping my fingers crossed for you on your 2ww

Headbangers I really can't shed much light on your breakthrough bleeding. I thought that when chem pg's happened you were more likely to get an early BFP but then AF appeared anyway? Not entirely sure that's a hard and fast rule though as dont know that much about it. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Oh and actually - Hello! Don't know if I've 'met' you yet!

Aries Hope you're feeling a bit more geared up for SWI now?? Totally understand how you feel tho, I only work 40 hours a week and still find it hard to muster up the enthusiasm sometimes!!

As for me nothing new ttc-wise to report however there have been developments on the ex situation! Got a reply to our letter which basically might as well have said "no you bloody well can't take your son overnight during the week and don't ask me again!" so we consulted our solicitor again yesterday who told us basically that unless we were stinking rich (we're not) or poverty-stricken (also not but feel like it sometimes) then we really can't afford to take her to court over the issue! So back to the drawing board again - what a waste of f**king money!! Squandered £300 on 2 meetings and a letter?!?!?!?! And we are back to having to approach her ourselves and hoping she see's sense! Never gonna happen!

Anyway I am not, as you can see, getting stressed about it as I don't want ov to be all skewed again this month! DP has now fully recovered from his injuries so we're concentrating on him being back at work and gettin our finances back on track - solicitors and statutory sick pay don't make for a well-off Mr&MrsWajs!!
And washing mobile phones doesn't help either! Have a pitiful replacement at present, which is so slow at texting that I've basically given up replying to anyone! Phoning isn't a much more viable option either because my SIM has retained just about every number that has ever been stored in it and so I don't know who's numbers are old or new and just have to try them all and hope for an answer! Grr - who new breaking your phone could be such a hassle!!

Anyway I've written a novel on here when I'm meant to be organising a shoppping list so better get a shift on - catch up with you all later!xx

Ariesgirl · 13/04/2010 18:14

MrsW, how frustrating on all accounts, not least the £300 down the bloody drain. That's the infuriating thing about our legal system - unless you're mega rich or extremely poor, you might as well not bother. And obviously frustrating regarding OH's little boy too .

Bangers, nothing to suggest I'm afraid. It's not worth POAS again is it? Just echo what the others have said and maybe see your doc or nurse. It must be a little worrying.

As for the SWI, I'm well up for it today, it's just a matter of persuading Ariesboy to stay awake until bedtime. Well, after bedtime too of course. Poor love is knackered already.

PinkiePoo · 13/04/2010 19:49

Capricorn congrats my lovely.......it is very encouraging seeing that grads list growing.

mrswajs thanks for the advice. I will go anyway, but knowing full well the answer i will get. Yes have been off the pill now for 8 months, although only actively trying for 2, so very annoying that this month is thrown out of joint! OH DD is 2 and wonderful. I miss her lots now. Cannot wait for the next visit (sunday), following weekend we have the overnight stay again. Yes had a stressful month, so i'm sure it impacted me in some way. Still have the pre-men symptoms. Cramps, sore boobs....grrrrr!!

dinky how is the hunting going???? Thats house hounting btw!!

I am at my sisters in Cambridge visiting for the day, would stay longer but have a funeral to go to tomorrow.

Hope we are all well lovely MN ladies x x

CaveMum · 13/04/2010 20:03

Evening all! Had a long and busy day at work today so still catching up on posts!
Racing is about to kick off again in Newmarket tomorrow and there is a big sale of 2 year old unraced horses tomorrow night and Thursday so the town is pretty hectic!
It's all good fun though!

Tummy problems have gone now so perhaps I had eaten something dodgy!

Hope everyone has had a good day - I shall be chilling on the sofa and watching a re-run of One Born Every Minute on More4.

CaveMum · 13/04/2010 22:05

Lordy me, it's quiet here tonight! Are you all off SWI-ing?!

Oh well, nighty night!

Dinkytinky · 13/04/2010 23:30

Evenin all! You're right cavemum everyone must be swi! I've been looking at sofas with DP and having a good old Barnyabout them! God it's really hard all this buying a house palaver isn't it?!
How's all your planning to ttc with DH going? Hope your tums better soon!

haloflo I'm wearing DP down slowly but surely! He's just a bit worried because his job requires him to have a lot of expenive equipment in the house but in my experience you're much more likely to get burgaled if you live in a nice area- it's assumed you'll have nicer things I suppose!

mrswajs that's sosososo rubbish about solicitors bills, what a stupid woman- it must be costing her alot too! Surely the little one would like tosee you both more often?! She sounds like a bitter, insecure little control freak who is oblivious to the fact that having an ex who actually wants to see his kid is rare. Grr I hate her for you!

Pinkie it's going good thankyou Hun! I just wish we were richer so I could have the three storey townhouse in a gated estate overlooking my favourite park, but I'm about 300000 quid short! Sorry to hear about funeral, lots of unmumsnetty cuddles

Capricorn thanks for telling us all about symptoms etc- it's really interesting that you've just been poorly( obviously get well
soon though!!!) have you told parents/friends or aare you keeping quiet until three months?keep us updated!

Helllo to everyone else as well kkas kaloki headbanger apple spanishlady misshoohaa calyx bellaby hope you're all having a good week (sorry if a missed anyone!) xxx

CaveMum · 14/04/2010 07:02

Definitely a busy night last night then

Dinky plans are going well, we've started our pre-conception vitamins and I've got a Drs appointment next week to have a chat and make sure vaccinations etc are up to date. It's very exciting!

Happy Wedneday everyone - the week's half over!

haloflo · 14/04/2010 07:26

Morning. Just to give you my thought on temping mrswajs which aren't my thoughts at all but from TCOYF! The book says that for every hour you sleep in your temperature will rise by 2 tenths so I guess by getting up earlier by 2 and half hours you would expect to be as much as .5 cooler? All the book says is to make a note of the time you get up & take it into account and most people should still see a pattern even with different times.

Tempings seems to be going ok for me, but its hard work and I do not like the taste of the thermometer in the morning. (Although I don't dislike it enough to stick it elsewhere!) I'll let you know if/when I see the rise though as that will be proof I can do it.

Hello to everyone & I'll probably try and do another update later.

zippys · 14/04/2010 08:02

Morning Ladies,

Sorry I have been so quiet for a while - thanks for all your kind thoughts

There are so many new people on here - so hi to anyone I havent 'met' yet.

I am still back on track totally but starting to feel more positive. Basically the consultant has said that my sickness is not mechanical but is hormone related most likely linked to a hormone inbalance but due to the severity of the sickness it sounds quite bad and therefore likely to have a huge impact on TTC BUT I have to see the hormone specialist yet and at least it means there may be answers coming regarding the sickness and why I am on cycle 11.

There were loads of tears and frustration, however I have decided that while waiting for appointment to come through I need to do something myself - so going on low GI diet (that is the diet docs recomment for cortisol issues/PCOS etc) so I thought I would start earlier rather than later and have also got myself some new gym equipment and WILL do 30 mins a day. But I do appreciate that all of that may not work and have no effect at all so ready to accept that I may need to look down IVF route etc.

Sorry this is a me me me post but wanted to let you all know where I am and that I am still here

Hope everyone has a lovely day

MrsWajs · 14/04/2010 10:35

Tee hee Cavemum! I was indeed SWI'ing last night!! (TMI!!) Hopefully Aries was as well!

Dinky You've pretty much got the evil-ex nailed there! The only difference being that it wasn't costing her anything as she's entitled to legal aid DP text her last night saying we were no longer using a solicitor and that we should try and meet again. Her response to that was 'ok' and the rest of the text asking us whether we had a proper bed for DS, did we have proper pants for him and did we have a dog? Erm...well if you'd actually spoken to us when we were picking up DS we could have discussed all this with you moron!!
The sad thing is that we haven't yet bought him a bed as we've been too skint paying solicitors bills! DP doesn't want to tell her this though as he thinks she might tell us we can't have DS to stay over until we get one!

Pinkie Knew you'd be visiting the Dr's anyway. I was the same last month knowing full well what they'd say - wild horses wouldn't have kept me from the surgery!

Halo This will sound v. dim but what is TCOYF?? I'm assuming it's a fertility related book? Tried to do the sums in my head there but still none the wiser! Did my temp this a.m. when DP left for work at 06.20 and it was the same as yesterday so does that mean if I'd done it at the usual time it would have been higher!? I don't suppose it actually matters as that's roughly the time I'll be doing it from now on sa will just maybe take it as starting again from today. Hoping that ov is gonna go back to normal this month and therefore it should be in about 5 days time might do a couple of OPK's round about that time too just to make sure I don't miss it but other than that we will be SWIing every 2nd day or there abouts!

Hope everyone else is fine this morning, still thinking of you too Zippys hope you can get to the bottom of your hormone issues soon
I'm back to work today so probably won't be back on til much later tonight. Ciao xx

CaveMum · 14/04/2010 15:58

"All by myseeelllf. Don't wanna be all by myseeeelff"!

Anyone out there?! Very quiet these last few days

Hermya321 · 14/04/2010 16:02

Hello Cavemum!! How you doing?

Perhaps all the nice weather has got people getting a bit more outdoorsey of late .

luckyseven · 14/04/2010 16:02

i am here cavemum! although i am also baking a carrot cake for a colleagues birthday tomorrow. Working at an event tonight so decided to do a split shift as i am sure a 14 hour day is not the best idea this early on in a pregnancy!

When are you going to the docs to say you are (about to) ttc?

kkas · 14/04/2010 16:47

i'm here too - just lurking last few days as nothing to report! enjoying all your wonderful stories as always though sun finally came out today!

pipsicles · 14/04/2010 17:38

I'm lurking too, but like kkas, nothing to report. I hate having long cycles - you have to wait so long before SWIing really has any chance of being successful! I have noticed though, chico (if you're around) that we are cycle buddies this month - almost down to the length as well as CD!!!

I've stocked up on grapefruit juice this week - bought 4 cartons in tesco as it's on offer - DH didn't bat an eyelid, although I didn't want to tell him what it's for!!! Thought I may as well get started early, esp after hearing it was the only thing luckyseven changed last month!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine - washing's on the line - that's always good!

Happy hump day all x

Ariesgirl · 14/04/2010 17:42

Hello zippys. That does indeed sound upsetting and it sounds as though you're dealing with it very sensibly, but I'm not surprised there have been tears as well. Big hugs to you.

Sadly MrsW there was no SWI going on here whatsoever last night, even though I'd offered myself virtually on a plate for him. Ariesboy starting snoring 0.26 seconds after his head hit the pillow !

CaveMum · 14/04/2010 17:46

Ahh, good to know you've not all disappeared into some TTC black hole!

luckyseven hmmm, don't like the sound if a 14 hour day! Especially not when you're baking your own little cake!
Drs appointment is on Tuesday morning, I'm sure they'll just tell me to get on with it but I'm a control freak so want to be absolutely sure everything is as it should be first

I've got a very busy day tomorrow so probably won't stop by until tomorrow evening but hope everyone has a good one - and keep posting! Even the mundane stuff is interesting!

misshoohaa · 14/04/2010 21:34

Hi all,
Thought I would post as things are a little quiet on here!
Nothing to report really my symptoms spotting continues and today I have convinced myself that firstly I am crazy, but secondly I have the following symptoms. Nausea, backache, metallic taste, very hungry and sleepy......

However this morning I did spend my morning packing up for an event, so lugging around boxes and boxes of cable ties and cups....if anyone else works in events they will understand how you have tonnes of crap for the smallest event!! So that hard yakka surely explains the backache tiredness and hunger. The metallic taste is properly due to thirst, I've been of the vino for a few days.

Planning on testing weekend or early next week as would rather wait to see if the old witch turns up than pee on a stick to see a negative.

Good luck with all of the SWIing ladies, must be a few of you at it as it's so quiet.

I think it's about time for another BFP, go little sperm go!

cherrycobbler · 14/04/2010 21:53

evening ladies

mrsw - ex sounds like a nightmare - blurgh. YOu have my sympathy! TCOY is Taking Control of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler (sp?) - I bought a copy and found it really useful actually even though I don't do all the things in it that you're supposed to. Recommended!

halo - snap on the temping thing - not enjoying but keeping going with it this month. hopefully it will tell me that i can ovulate, rather than just showing me that I am at risk of slow death via hypothermia

misshoohah well all those symptoms sound very promising! Good idea re no early testing - I usually crack but am always v disappointed when I do!

Sorry for all the AF's - and congrats capricorn, great news, esp after all that saga!

hello to all the lovely new joiners I've not met yet ( waves enthusiastically )

Just having a quick catch up read before Desperate Housewives

Zippy, I think your positive attitude to what you have found out is fantastic - all the best with the diet

Morning ladies....Haven't really been on here too much, been a busy busy girl.

Had to go to a funeral yesterday for a lady of 28 and died of cervical cancer. Put A LOT into perspective, i am sure you would agree. Live life to the full and don't put off what you can do today, was her message to everyone sad

Somehow AF and TTC seems a little minor now.

I am getting increasingly annoyed as mine is still a no-show!!!!! Wish it really would hurry on now, me and the OH wanna SWI again.

Spending the day with my lovely preggo cousin today. i think we all know that evil envy will creep in at some point!!

mrswajs I think we have similar problems!! Well all is ok with OH DD ex for now, but i am thinking she may have pychizoprenic tendencies, so just waiting for the next 'problem' she will have!!!

Life is never easy

God, what a horrible funeral to have to go to, Pinkie . Some funerals are kind of nice in that they are goodbyes at the end of a long productive life, but a 28 year old? Just a girl, and too sad.

Chin up today. It's hard isn't it? Two of my cousins have produced in the last year and my sister will pop in July, let alone all the friends and acquaintances, so there really is no getting away from it at our age. You're right, life is never easy. But the sun's out

claireinthecommunity · 15/04/2010 13:08

Oh Pinkie, how sad

Aries, there is always a bump or a tiny baby just around the corner! And yes, the sun is out

Felicity, hope all is going well with your in laws.

2WW for me, we've quite a busy few weeks ahead so I shall try not to become too obsessed
