Sorry ladies forgot to say last night good luck to anyone testing this week

haloflo · 19/04/2010 21:04

Evening all! I decided I best read the CBFM instructions again as I am approaching the SWI week and it says 2 bars = high fertility. I thought 2/3 bars would be a middle level, like warm up for ovulation! As the whole idea of warm up level is ridiculous I realised I best get on with things. I was missed over the weekend so we have already got the week off to a good start, just got to keep momentum going over the next few days .

My grapefruit juice review is that its bad but bearable. I couldn't explain to DP about why its good so I just told him that it helps women conceive. He will never know about CM!

womenly Sorry to hear about AF. Look after yourself in the next few days.

kaloki glad to hear things are going well with your DP.

cavemum You can talk to us as well as your cat!

pipsicles I read your post on my iphone and thought you said bumage instead of burnage. This made me laugh far too much.

felicity It sounds like the ban might be coming to an end according to the news. I hope the PIL get a early flight when things are up and running to give you some peace. Did you go swimming today? I hope day 1 of the diet is going well. I had a salad for lunch, chicken, rice and veg for tea AND I went running. It probably won't last but its a start.

I'm off to watch glee, have a good evening all.

Bellaby · 19/04/2010 21:32

Evening Lovely Ladies

Pinkie - I hope that the sunburn isn't too painful. It's so easy to forget how strong the sun can be when we haven't seen it for ages! I'm keeping you company at the top of the list and also in our wine drinking habit! Well being at the top of the list has to have some perks

Cavemum -love the sound of a ladybird fancy dress - you must be very creative! Unless it was your DH who was the ladybird and your the gorilla???

I enjoyed the wedding thanks Felicity - was a friend I used to work with. Very casual wedding which was fun and then we were able to get the train home after so still got a bit of a lie in on Sunday! Good luck with your interviews. looks like flights are restarting so fingers crossed the pils manage to get on an early flight out

pipsicles - I hope that you had a good first day back at school.

Aly -big hugs going your way xxx

Claire - hope you have recovered from your tiring weekend. I also think you have a very interesting sounding life!

Haloflo - glad you had such a good night out in Leamington Spa. Not surprised it raised your temp! Let me know if you get a peak with your monitor - mine failed to find me one this cycle and now it probably won't be able to make sense of anything given that my cycle is so long! You should definitely try squash - I have played a fair amount socially over the past few years although now I'm trying to learn tennis so can't play squash as it makes me rubbish at tennis! Squash is a great calorie burner but you have to be careful of your knees. It's always good to try new things - 2 years ago I did a triathlon (my first and probably only one!) and this year it's tennis (although I did used to play when I was a kid).

Hello to luckyseven, kaloki, Kkas, mumsnerves, Aries and anyone else I've missed out

Our list is getting quite short - perhaps that is why there is less posting. It's definitely been easier to keep track of everything last couple of days.

Have a lovely evening

Xxx

CaveMum · 19/04/2010 21:59

Just got off the phone with my parents - lordy me, if talking were an Olympic sport ......

Bellaby sad to report I'm not at all creative - outfit was a sparkly red top, black skirt, red tights and a pair of spotty wings and antenae that I picked up for a fiver in a fancy dress shop!
Would have been interesting to see DH try to pull that one off!
We made more effort than some - one guy turned up in jeans, t-shirt and trainers with just a duck mask!
The husband of birthday girl won hands down - he came as a man being eaten by a shark! It's hard to explain, but if you imagine a shark standing upright on its tail with its mouth open and a man inside you get the picture!

So, as we are rapidly running out of room on this thread, has anyone given any thought to a title for the new thread?

felicityFlick · 20/04/2010 01:37

Morning Frolickers,

Hope all is well for you. Just a quick post from me at the min- was all excited that the flight ban was coming to an end but then I've just seen that the bloody volcano has erupted again! Nightmare.

It is interview day for me today- I pulled out if one of them as I decided that I didn't really want the job and I don't know why I even applied for it! So just one interview for me. Am very nervous- EEEKKK!!

flo- I did manage swimming! Although the pool is an outdoor one so bloody freezing brrr!! I had porridge for breakfast, salad for lunch and made a weight watchers chicken tikka masala for tea. It was yum! Well done you on being so good!

Back later on xxx

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 07:01

Felicity good luck with your interview! Fingers and toes all crossed for you.

Got my doctors appointment this morning. I'm not expecting any great revelations but will dutifully report back nonetheless!

Thinking caps on for a new thread title ladies!

felicityFlick · 20/04/2010 07:43

Oh thanks cavemum- I think it went well. If I don't get the job I won't be thinking 'I wish I'd said this or that' as I said all I wanted to and I gave it my best shot so won't be disappointed with myself even I don't get it! They said they will let me know by Thursday... I hope you get on ok at the docs today. Do come back later on and let us know how you get on. Fingers and toes all crossed for you too PS. I know what you mean about cats. One of mine is defintely going through a 'phase'.

Haven't you got the docs today too evilgiraffe?

Your poor dh kaloki, he is lucky he has someone as lovely as you now

pinkie- your job sounds great only teaching one class! Is it because you do supply? Hope the burn is fading now

Sorry about AF womanly- our bodies can be so cruel the way they trick us sometimes.

Glad the fayre went well claire- any more gisgs coming up? Do you get booked up for weddings too?

ariesa marvel- pleasing praise indeed! pils now booked on flight on 6th May- joy! They will be on stand by everyday though from when flights resume so fingers crossed that they get on an early one or you might just be seeing news about that double homicide- I jest not. However, dh was the one about to kill them last night!

Hope the weather remains nice for you all- who is POAS soon?!

Ariesgirl · 20/04/2010 08:15

Was about to say good luck for the interview. How can she have gone for an interview already? Aaah, time difference. Well done for getting and getting through the interview. What was it for?

Pinkie, my man does supply teaching. He's just off now actually, as I'm clattering away on the keyboard. He quite enjoys it actually, though there are some demon classes. I had sunburn once when I was teaching Y6, the little buggers. Oh how they sniggered. Wear suncream!

Morning all. Another lovely day. It's going to break at the end of the week I've heard, but we've had a great run of it (down here in the sunny SW at least)

PinkiePoo · 20/04/2010 10:19

felicity I am a dance teacher, so on the odd day i only teach for 1 hour. Down side i teach Sat and sundays!! RUBBISH!

ARIES he he, point taken, although it wasn't that bad, i promise!!

oh felicity hope you get the job too honey....positive vibes being sent your way!

cavemum hope you get some answers too at the docs, although sometimes they can be pretty useless, hence why i did not bother going!!

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 13:37

Hi ladies, lunchtime check in once again.

Doctors visit went well. As expected no great revelations but the Dr was very good and even seemed a little excited for me! She's given me pile of leaflets to read through and also explained what I have to do when I get a positive test - make an appointment but specify that it is a "booking in" appointment as these take longer due to masses of paperwork that needs filling in!
Interestingly it actually turns out that I get to choose between two different hospitals for giving birth (getting WAY ahead of myself now I know!) - West Suffolk or Addenbrookes - as there is no maternity unit in our town and we are smack between the two major hospitals. Another job to do then - researching which is the better unit!

Pinkie I'm helping with a freebie salsa class tonight - trying to entice some new "customers"!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

claireinthecommunity · 20/04/2010 15:51

Afternoon, quick check in in between rehearsing.

Cavemum, glad the appointment went as expected, you certainly have a nicer GP than mine, who showed no excitement and very little interest when I discussed TTC with her I will come under Addenbrookes when we get to that stage, I know people who have had their babies at both, and both seem fantastic hospitals

Airies, it's been lovely here too (East Anglia)

Felicity, glad to hear the interview went well. Hope the In Laws get a cancellation before the 6th Yeah we've got two gigs this weekend, hence the rehearsing. And yes, we do get booked for weddings too, it's lovely actually, we ask what the couple would like for their first dance song, and if we don't already do it we learn it especially for them

Bellaby, thank you , yeah you're right, the list is getting short - we need some new recruits!

Haloflo, there are some things me and DH will not be having conversations about either

Kaloki, hope you're doing ok, I saw you posting on another thread that I've been posting on too. I can/have found life difficult at times - thinking of you x.

Mumsnerves, how are things going with you?, you are lovely to pop back and check up on us all

Must get back to it...

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 16:15

claire I only know one person who has had a baby in this area and she had hers at West Suffolk and all seemed well, apart from the 36 hour labour !

The mother of one of DHs friends is a senior sister in the SCBU at the Rosie so we have someone we can quiz if necessary! I had heard some bad things about Addenbrookes in the past, but quickly reading some of the posts on here it seems they have improved in the last few years.

Right, must dash - I'm not really here during work hours

claireinthecommunity · 20/04/2010 16:45

Another short break.

Cavemum, what I've heard with The Rosie is, medically if anything doesn't go to plan you are in the best possible place, whereas they can fall down on the after care and time or lack of time given to the mums post labour.

It'll be funny if we fall close to each other and find ourselves at the same antenatal groups!

Kaloki · 20/04/2010 17:10

felicity It works both ways, I'm on anti-depressants nowadays too. So at least we both understand each other.

THe doctor does keep teling me that if I get pregnant I should consider coming off them though, not sure that's such a great idea.

cavemum I'm resisting the urge to look up info on the local hospital's maternity unit at the moment, watching One Born Every Minute has got the idea stuck in my head. I feel that's a little premature of me! lol

OP posts:
haloflo · 20/04/2010 17:38

Afternoon! Just a quick message from me.

bellaby I got my first peak today! Day 12 seems early but I do only have short cycles. I can't believe DP & I had to go to work today. All I wanted to do was stay after home, drink my grapefruit juice and SWI! Oh well, theres always tonight.
Thanks for the info about squash. I'll try to sort something out next week to take my mind off the 2ww.

felicity Glad you felt you did your best during your interview. Fingers crossed you get it but least you did all you could. Well done to you for being good on day 1 too.

cavemum Your GP sounds lovely. Are you tempted to fast forward your plan yet or happy with how it is? Maybe the new title should try to recruit a few people? I no good at thinking names but up it could have in the title that we welcome new and old posters. It would be good to get some MIA back too, hopefully to report BPFs.

maamalady · 20/04/2010 18:04

Hello all, blood has been taken from me, and I am to call the doctor's on Thursday and see if they've got the results ready. She made me pee in a pot and did a urine test there and then, which was BFN I'm definitely expecting the blood test to come up negative as well, but we shall see.

Looks like lots of us live in East Anglia! I think I fall under the jurisdiction of Addenbrooke's as well, although it is possibly Hinchingbrooke...

maamalady · 20/04/2010 18:07

New thread title idea:

First time frolickers - old and new first time TTC'ers welcome!

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 18:23

evilgiraffe I think that's a really good idea. We do need to advertise the thread to newbies, and reassure them we're not totally crazy baby ladies!

Haloflo no thoughts on changing plans just yet. I've told myself it's only 2 more packets of pills and that makes it seem really soon! Plus it's my birthday in a few weeks - the one before the one that ends in '0' - and I don't want AF hanging around! That's one thing I will miss about not being on the pill - the ability to move my period around to suit my plans!

Right, off to have dinner then head out to class.

See y'all later.

wannamummy · 20/04/2010 20:05

Evening All! It's been very quiet on here the last few days, where is everyone?!

Nothing to report here yet... AF has not arrived yet, but I've not POAS yet.

Still having cramps so not convinced it's not on it's way. Hoping cycles not gone wonky again after three months of 28day cycles. Think I'm too scared to POAS in case its BFN.

Sausage and pasta bake for dinner, just wish DH would hurry back from playing squash, i'm starvin!

Have a good evening everyone, I've got at dat with Heston at 9pm, Ch4!

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 21:04

Hi all, it's me again, the lady with no one to talk to

just back from our freebie class, so plenty of calories burned! Honestly ladies, those of you who want to lose a bit of weight, dancing is the way to go! I'm sure Pinkiepoo will back me up! According to weight watchers salsa can burn 450 calories an hour - though if you danced salsa for an hour non-stop you're likely to end in a heap on the floor!

Right, preaching over I'm off to watch the One Born Every Minute repeat on More4. I think it's the one with really annoying husband so I shall have to resist temptation to throw something at the telly!

Ariesgirl · 20/04/2010 21:22

Well done on the dancing. I have been keeping fit in a hopefully productive this evening - fnar fnar! Only problem was, we'd left the tv on downstairs and we were in mid sesh when I heard the One Show music. So who should pop into my head but Adrian bloody Chiles. A terrible thing to happen to anyone

claireinthecommunity · 20/04/2010 21:39

at Adrian Chiles, Aries!

I am also in at One Born Every Minute, I've never watched it before but as I'm home alone this evening and Cavemum mentioned it, thought I'd have a look. It's the husband/partner that's got to me, I cannot believe what he is coming out with...

CaveMum · 20/04/2010 21:50

claire I saw it first time round and judging by the OBEM thread this husband must have been the most hated man in Britain!

I do love the midwife, Dominique. She is just so perky & cheerful! Hope they're all like that!
