Hi ladies, hope you've all had a good day. We've been at a friends 30th birthday party. It was a fancy dress party - animal themed, DH and I went as a gorilla and a ladybird - and had lots of kid's food and party games. It got a little awkward when we were playing pass the parcel and the birthday girl's 14yo brother joined in and opened the paper to reveal some condoms! Oops!

Anyway, dinky sorry to hear that your MiL is interfering in your house hunting. Can YOU make the bookings for viewings and not tell DH or your MiL where they are?!

Felicity I can't believe that there are no available flights till 7th May! That is ridiculous! I know it would be a pain in the arse but can they not get a flight back to Europe and then travel on by train? I know it's not ideal but surely they need to get home before then?

cherrycobbler · 17/04/2010 21:50

Evening all, hope you all enjoyed the sunshine!

Felicity - OH NO re enforced PIL stay - its so much worse when you think you can see the end and then it changes at the last minute! Think of all the good daughter in law karma you're building up though Flight to Europe then train/ ferry sound like it may be an option...

MrsW sorry to hear about Mr W's job - but v impressed by your positivity. Hope you're feeling ok about it - and really hope he gets a good payout and finds an even better job he likes very soon.

Halo - you asked me ages ago, my temps are actually about the same as yours/ Calyx - 35.8 to 36.2. Now I feel very silly about going on about hypothermia - clearly it is just normal pre-ov temps! I was convinced that it was very low as DH has an iPhone app that I put my temps into so it can draw me a pretty graph, and it wouldn't let me put in 35.8 as it said it was too low. Ridiculous. Hope you enjoyed your night out with your friend.

Pinkie You definitely deserved your 4 glasses of Pinot and a bit of sunshine. You must be so frustrated with being in NWL for so long - sounds like maybe no ovulation yet? Not over till AF arrives so I would keep on -jumping- -on- -OH- SWI

cavemum party sounds brilliant!

aries Good work on the SWI. I have to say that it feels a bit weird to cheer your shagging success but, er, you know what I mean.

All good here, not ov yet but enjoying the SWI and about to settle down on sofa with DH for some trashy TV and left over easter egg.

Hello to everyone I've missed out, hope you have sunny Sundays

Bellaby · 17/04/2010 22:58

felicity - poor you. What a disaster. Perhaps you should remind them that election is 6th May so it is their duty to ensure they are back by then to do theirbit for the future of the country!

felicityFlick · 18/04/2010 03:56

Thanks for all of your support lovely frolickers! I am employing the motto ?Keep Calm and Carry On!? Lots of deep breaths and biting my tongue. The pils do need to get back to work asap and are both quite stressed about being here. Their airline has now said that they will put on extra flights etc but can?t do that until they know when British airspace will open again. So, it may be sooner than the 7th May (keep all fingers etc crossed please!) I just want my house back to myself! I am not going to rant anymore because there is nothing I can do about it On the plus side, my best friend and her dp are still stranded in HK too (luckily they are in a hotel!)so we are seeing them again this afternoon and my dh is being SUPER lovely to me. I think he knows that I am a woman on the edge and is trying to ensure that I do not loose the plot with him!

I plan to lock myself away this morning and ?prepare for my interviews?. I will really be catching up on MN and all of my TV programs that I have downloaded. I must have about 10 episodes of Eastenders, 4 episodes of Holby City and 2 of Waterloo Road to catch up on- what an exciting life I lead

In ttc news FF is not showing that I?ve ovulated yet which is making me annoyed as I thought my cycle was settling down and getting into a bit of a pattern. I?m on day 25 with no sign of OV. I don?t know whether it might have anything to do with the fact that I have input my temps differently this month. I usually put them in to one decimal place eg. 35.8 but this month I have been putting them in as two decimal places e 35.86 so they seem more erratic. I feel like I?ve ovulated, cramps, lots of watery/EWCM but its?s still too early for me to know my cycle properly. When AF comes this month I think I am going to try some reflexology to see if that helps.

Anyway, enough of me wittering on ...finally I?m going to catch up!

Oh mrswajs- so sorry to hear about your DH?s job. I?m pleased to see that you have got your coping head on but remember that if you need to unleash/rant/let it all out then we are here and you can maintain a calm exterior in real life!

cavemum- as you can see from above, I am a nightmare with noticing changes etc. I have already vowed to myself that when the time comes for me to ttc, I will not do early tests as I know what I will be like! When I was ttc before we decided to wait I was terrible- I even had to get mt dh to hide tests from me. I wanted to test everyday!

pinky- I feel for you with no sign of AF. I think that has to be one of the most frustrating things ever, when you have a BFN but no AF. I might have missed this in all of my skimming through but how long have you been off your pill for? I managed to get the pils to the airport yesterday but unfortunately they came back! We should have done that runner you mentioned! Try not to get too worried about your AF, you might have just ovulated really late in your cycle due to illness, stress. travel etc and I read somewhere that it is ?normal? for women to not ovulate one or two cycles a year.(I?m not saying that you have ovulated by the way, but you know what I mean!) I?ve just read further down and seen that your cycles have been decreasing in length and now I feel for you even more! I think that is what situation I?m gping to be in tehis month... last cycle was 38 and I was all excited that they were getting shorter and now here I am on day 25 with Fertility Friend not showing ovulation. It?s so annoying Isn?t it? Glad you had a nice BBQ and hope that burn turns to tan soon

lovelyflo- thanks so much for doing the list! bunny are you lurking??!! You have a rival for list/stats bunny Did you enjoy your weekend with your friend? whereabouts were you off to? Did you take your CBFM in the end?! My jobs are both in teaching. They are promotions within the school I am in so I?ll be able to make them both as they are just down the corridor from each other but it makes it more annoying as teh people organising them know that I have applied for both jobs and still decided to schdule them on the same day! Oh well, lucky I work well under pressure I guess!

zippys Hope you?re doing ok. Come back and let us know how you?re getting on. I am really certain that once you have the hormonal problem sorted out and when you?re all balanced again that you will get that BFP. xxx

misshoohaa any news from you? Your symptoms sound great! Am keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you.

aries I thought of you the other day as I snuck a bottle of cough medicine into my shopping trolly I have not tried it yet- It?s happily sitting on my bedside table at the min ready to try next cycle. I for one enjoy your sex life updates so feel free to continue !! Glad you made use of that EWCM. Has the weather been hot this weekend in the UK? It?s raining here just to add to the greyness of my situation. Ignore that! Just seen that pinkie got sunburnt and had a BBQ so it must have been hot!

claire Hope the trade fayre is going well this weekend. You seem to be a very bust bee with your music and trade fayres. Your life sounds very exciting!

kkas Keep up those ?failures?

Glad you?re still here kaloki. Sorry to hear about your yucky blood tests- sounds like you were very brave. I hope they gave you a special sticker I am sending good vibes your way that is is NOT coeliacs. Let us know when you get your results xx

wannamummy How are you feeling? I know you?re trying not to symptom spot but anymore signs? I?m really hoping AF stays away for you

pips- I?m another grapefruiter! I really find it does make you more juicy he he!!

dinky sorry about AF my love At least you have a very regular cycle now so it should be nice and easy for you to know when to test next month when you get your BFP I am so with you on the AF symptoms being different from month to month- how annoying and it is a joke that AF and pg symptoms are the same. I remember ages ago on this thread we were saying about how it would be really good if the pregnancy symptoms were really obvious like if your wee went bright green or something! Also sorry that you have mil problems. Why does she have to view your houses?!! RAHHH thats the sort of thing mine would do! Just count your blessings that she is not stuck in your house with you for the forseeable future! Good luck with the house hunting! Have you viewed any yet?

Hi calyx! I can?t wait until your comp is fixed. Fingers crossed that you just have alate ovulation this monthxx

bellaby thanks so much for your sympathies! How was the wedding? I LOVE a wedding! Was it a friend or family members? The election idea sounds like a good one! they would hate to miss that!

cavemum- he he, that party sounds so fun!!

cherry- my temps are similar to yours. Sometimes even lower at around 35.7- I hope that we are all normal!! By the way, I am very impressed that you have left over easter eggs Also very jealous of your evening watching trashy TV with your dh. That is what had planned for this weekend after being so hectic with vistiors for teh past however long. We were just going to relax and catch up all weekend but oh well! I am definitely getting gret wife and daughter in law karma- you?re right! My own mum thinks that this is hilarious and the funniest thing ever. She says that is is bad karma for me moaning about them when they were here! I told her I am not powerful enough to set off a volcano!

evilgiraffe Glad your still checking in with us, Good luck with that blood test and let us know the results when you get them. The day you get your AF is going to be a massive first time frolickers party! and kurly too.

OOOOOO just thought- kurly was going on holiday to Malta (with her skimpy bikinis !) Do you think she is stuck?! Calling kurly.... are you stuck in Malta?!!

I still have welcomed the newbies- appleCharlotte newclaire and womanlytales so hello and welcome to our lovely thread!

Big waves to papertiger, stiffybyng, chalky, sevans, chico calligrapy and seablue if you?re lurking

Right I?m off to actually prepare for my interview and catch up on TV. Suppose I will have to actually leave my bedroom at some point today! DH and I are embarking on a diet/exercise plan tomorrow so I also need to do our week?s ?menu?. We had planned to start tomorrow as we thought the PILs would be gone by then and we?re still going to do it even though they are still here as there are now 9 weeks until the end of my school term and I want to have lost the stone I have acquired since my wedding by then! My dh does not need to diet, bless him, but is motivating me along. We plan to try and walk some of the way home from work each day and to go swimming on Mondays and running on Thursdays. I?ll keep you posted! Anyone else want to join me on a lose weight for summer diet?! I figure it will give me something else to obsess about.

xxxxxxxxxxx

felicityFlick · 18/04/2010 03:58

PS. I would do it myself but I am scared to do the list as I always make a mistake .....but could whoever does the list next take aly off the grads as I've just seen on the other thread that she has had the bad news we were all willing not to happen xxxx

pipsicles · 18/04/2010 09:31

That's really sad news for aly ((hugs)) and thoughts to you if you're lurking.

Felicity you are always SO good at catching up with everyone! I don't know how you do it! I'll definately join you for a summer weight loss program. I don't know how much I weigh now (not sure if I want to!), but I've definately put a quite a bit on since the wedding. The dress went in my parent's loft a couple of months ago and I thought I'd try it on again (had been busting to do that!), but it didn't fit! So really want to try and sort that one out!!! As you say, it'llgive us something else to think about too, and a bit of weight loss is always good when ttc!

DH and I had a lovely day in Brighton yesterday - in our two weeks off, we've barely seen each other, so it was great to spend the day together. However, last night, he asked if I wanted to make some babies, and I said that we wouldn't be at the moment anyway. He asked how I was supposed to know and that it just takes one, and you never know when it's going to happen etc, etc. I was lying there thinking 'what am I saying?!' Needless to say, we did not do the deed last night - I think I am getting far too scientific for my own good and just need to roll with it!!!

Anyway, I should get on with planning lessons for tomorrow - back to school again!!!

Sorry I'm so rubbish at saying hello to everyone individually, but hello!!! to you all. Hope you get chance to enjoy this fab weather again. I won't be (see above), so someone go get some tan for me!!!

CaveMum · 18/04/2010 10:24

Big (((hugs))) to aly if you are lurking.

Felicity I agree with Pipsicles - you are SO GOOD at giving everyone a mention! I'm pretty rubbish, I usually only remember the last 3 posters!

Another lovely sunny day here in Suffolk - hope everyone has a great day.

felicityFlick · 18/04/2010 10:39

Ahh thanks guys! It's just cos I haven't been able to post that regularly recently that I like to devote some time to catching up so you don't feel like I am neglecting you You are all better at posting more regularly than me

pips- My wedding dress probably would not get past my knees! It too is in my Mum's loft and I really want to be able to fit into it again one day Do you think you will weigh yourself or just have fitting into the dress as a goal?

Enjoy the weather- we've got stranded best friend and her dp on the way over for a roast. It's like when I was in England and she was just up the road so thats lovely!

felicityFlick · 18/04/2010 11:09

OOO and PS. I feel better about ovulation as, on DH's, suggestion I went back into FF and changed all of my temps to one decimal place as I had been doing for the last month and lo and behold it says I ovulated on day 15! yay! and this was the day I thought I had ovulated. Feel much better- fingers crossed this is accurate and AF will be on her way soon

xxx

luckyseven · 18/04/2010 11:41

hello just checking in. I can do the stats today when dh is finished with the pc. I am on mn on my phone while he sorts out what are options are if we can t fly to sicily on wed. Back soön

I have added Claire196 to the list so welcome and don't panic with the short cycles just yet i was 25 - 28 days and got lucky last month on a 23 day cycle.

Nothing new from me, i haven't been on either thread much as i don't have much to contribute as i am so early on, i still might only be 4 weeks, sometimes 5 depending hhow you work it out with a due date between 17th and 22nd December. If all goes to plan I hope the Peter Kay gig will bring the baby on as we have tickets for the 9th December!

In theory lots of girls are coming up to the end of their cycle so fingers crossed for some happy news!

wannamummy · 18/04/2010 14:42

Good afternoon ladies!

The rain has finally hit the west of Scotland, the sun was nice while it lasted!

Nothing much to report here, still having back and tummy cramps before the impending doom of AF due tomorrow.

Have just had a wee jaunt out with DH and nearly bought an iphone, was very very tempted but didn't give in!

luckyseven our friends have got tickets for Peter Kay in October, v. jealous!

Ariesgirl · 18/04/2010 15:02

Aly, if you read this, I'm really sorry how things have turned out and deeply admiring of you trying and succeeding in taking some positives from it. You've had a rough old ride.

Flick - you're a marvel. How do you remember all that? Am also deeply admiring of your fortitude in the face of PIL adversity. If I had mine here for that long I'd be in the dock for a double homicide. The weather's bloody lovely by the way, despite the ash that's been deposited on my car. I wiped my finger over it and it actually contains particles of shiny silica! Mad to think it's come out of a volcano in Iceland.
wannamummy well done on holding out over the iPhone. I always think there's no point in me buying technological marvels because I will either lose them or break them or put them through the washing machine within two weeks.

Anyone who's partaking in the cough medicine and/or the grapefruit juice, I've been doing both and in the last two months I've not noticed even as much EWCM as there was the month before when I had a classic ov with no help whatsoever? Do you think my eggs are slowing down? Is it my age? Just off to drink even more. And isn't starflower oil and Omega 3 (which I'm also gobbling) supposed to help as well? Problem is, due to my slackness and incompetence with a thermometer I have no idea when I ovulate. I'm guessing I do because of regular AFs (between 28 and 31 days each time). I know so many people have said this, but I look back on all the times I was actually annoyed at having (TMI coming up) CM on some nice new pants!

claireinthecommunity · 18/04/2010 17:47

Hello all, back from trade fayre, went really well and very busy all day. Absolutely shattered now!

Such sad news about aly.

Bellaby, the trade fayres are to do with my DHs business which I 'help out' in and not connected to the music, thanks for asking.

Awww felicity, it's interesting you say that (about my life sounding interesting), to people who are employed and work 9-5 our life is very different, but what we do and how we do it is 'normal' to us, and we have shitty days just like everyone else!

Aries, when I read your last line I laughed out loud, DH asked me what I was laughing at and I said "you really don't need to know, it's a very intimate girly thing"! He should know better to ask when I'm catching up on here.

I'm gonna be rude and not acknowledge everyone, but I'm soooo tired, hope you all have good evenings

felicityFlick · 18/04/2010 17:49

Bless you lucky for doing the list. Glad all going well for you.

xxx

mumnerves · 18/04/2010 21:26

luckyseven and capricorn congrats!!

Pinkiepoo that sounds like a terrible funeral. Such a true message she left behind. Just so sad she didn't even get the chance to do it herself

MrsWajs Sorry to hear about DF's job, keeping fingers crossed that you'll get some good news soon.

Flick Hope UK airspace opens up soon and you get rid of your inlaws Good luck for your interview!

Sorry I haven't been on much, internet has been down. Sorry about the AFs and sorry I haven't been able to catch up much. Hope you all had a good weekend.

haloflo · 18/04/2010 21:40

Evening all. I had a brillant night out last night. I visited Leamington Spa in Warickshire, a long way from my home up north in Lancashire. I fessed all about TTC to my uni friends and they were really supportive. Although none are in the same stage with their own lives or relationships it still felt good to share. We had quite a bit too drink, were out til 2 & then were up chatting til gone 3. The vodka, the late night and a long train ride home means I am really really tired. I wanted to catch up with the thread tonight though before we have to start a new one. I can't actually believe we are on the last few pages again!

I took my temp this morning though (an hour and a half later, after alcohol) and I was really hot (a whole degree warmer). I've decided to ignore this temp as I don't think i'm about to ov. CBFM put me at mid level fertility today (previously just been low) which was rather exciting. I think I'll be jumping around with excitement if I actually get a peak!

aly I'm really sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself. Have a massive hug from us all & we are all here for you whenever you feel like talking. xxxxx

airesgirl Is your CD right? felicity kindly praised my stats skills but you might to double check in case I added an extra day to you. Glad your and DH found time for each other I don't think your eggs are slowing down, don't we only ever use about 10% of those in our bodies? I read that you get less EWCM as you get older so maybe thats the case but it might be that you are noticing it more. Remember its not necassary to get pg, just helps!

claire196 Hello!. Have you just started temping? There are a few of us who are just starting to get all technical with TTC so let us know how you get on. Nothing wrong with being a geek!

bellaby Sorry about BFN, I know you said you missed the peak & there was no chance but if you are anything like me I bet the lack of AF meant that you still had your hopes raised. How was the wedding? I hope you enjoyed a drink and had a good time.

pinkie I can't beleive you got sunburnt. I hope that you enjoyed your bbq and your sunburn fades into a nice tan. I've been on the fake stuff trying to make my pale white skin thats been hidden all winter look acceptable.

cherry I'm glad that your temps aren't too different to mine. Have you asked DH to take his? Mine is soo much warmer than me. If you compared yourself to him then I'm not surprised you thought you were cold! I use an app called Period Tracker. It was £1.19 & its really good. It counts days, lets you draw temp graphs and input symptoms. I recommend it to any iphone/touch users. I'm still going to use fertilty friend but pop my temps straight into the app every morning.

felicity You have no idea how happy your stats praise makes me! I'm glad your interviews are just down the corridor & you can go to both. Hope the prep is going well. Hopefully you will be offered something as you must be a good candidate to get short listed for both. Sorry it looks like you are heading into another long cycle. Is reflexology like accuputure? capricorn said she used accuputure but I know nothing about either?

I would love to join you on the summer diet. I want to lose at least a stone & a half ideally but would settle with getting below 11 stone (I am about 11 stone 10). I already run but would like to up both my distance and frequency. I would also like to try squash but am nervous about a new sport. Anyone here play? Your regime sounds really achievable though & even if your DH doesn't need to diet, getting fitter can only improve your chances when TTC.

I hope the ash cloud lifts soon, whenever I hear it on the news I think of you. Enjoy spending time with your friends though.

lucky Good to hear from you! Have you been to docs yet? When will your first scan be? Any morning sickness yet?

Anyway i'm going back to 24 & Mr Bauer. Have a good evening all.

Hello all, just popping by. I'm watching Louis Theroux on BBC2 at the moment. It's about kids in America on medication. It's pretty scary - a 6yo on anti-depressants! It seems that, in some cases, medication is being used instead of parenting.

The younger sister of a school friend of mine was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12 (this was 12 years ago) and I'm sorry but her only problem was that she was a brat who had been allowed to get away with murder by her feckless mother.
I'm afraid I'm one of those people who think things like ADHD are bandied around too much and used as an excuse.

Haloflo acupuncture is where special needles are inserted into pressure points all over your body. The theory being that each of these pressure points relates to a certain part of your body or certain emotions.
Reflexogy focuses completely on your feet. Again the theory is that points on your feet relate to other parts of your body.

I read that reflexology is good for bringing on labour.

I'm on day 14, flo That sounds significant to me. I may have to drag DH away from the computer where he's doing Extremely Important Jobs and up to bed. Though that may kill the whole passionate ambience. But he's early to work in the morning! My chance may be gone! And that will have only been two sessions this month! Oh this is all so stressful....

kkas · 19/04/2010 10:23

morning all - hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine despite the volcanic ash! i spent the whole weekend doing DIY and my lovely DH and his dad built us a new staircase. it's lovely! nothing really to report TTC-wise.

so sorry to hear about aly hope you're back with us soon and feeling better.

aries hope you managed to lure DH away from the computer last night!

hi to everyone else! sorry i'm so rubbish at catching up individually....

Sending lots of love to Aly hope you are doing ok

I'm quite glad I've stopped counting days, the sex has become more frequent and much better!! Taking pressure off ourselves has helped loads.

I got all excited about feeling sick yesterday morning, until DP told me he felt sick too.

CaveMum my DP has been on anti-depressants since he was 7

AriesGirl I tried grapefruit juice, but it tastes like hell! How does anyone else manage to drink it?!

pipsicles It's difficult isn't it? TTC makes me want sex less, unless it's optimal circumstances it seems so pointless.

felicity I'll join you on that diet, getting frustrated by all the weight I've put on.

Hi everyone,
Just reposting the list on Monday having edited my details. AF came on Day 28 - am sad and feel very let down by all crazy symptoms that my body gave me. Here's to another month.

Hi ladies, just popping in whilst on my lunchbreak.

kaloki sorry to hear that your DP has had problems. Hope my comments didn't offend you, I was not trying to make sweeping statements about children on medication, more that the particular children, parents and doctors on the tv program seemed a bit too keen to use medication.

Hope everyone is having a good day - looking at the list it appears we may have a few Frolickers POAS in the next few days?! Good luck to all!

PinkiePoo · 19/04/2010 16:27

Afternoon ladies.

Back to work teaching for me today, but being the self employed bum that i am i only taught 1 class today, feet up again

mumsnerves it was awful, soooo young! But they did a really upbeat funeral if thats possible, not too morbid.
halo the burnage wasn't that bad, and i am no closer to being a nice golden colour but just have the horrible unsightly strap marks!

womanly big AF HUGS!! Sorry to hear that, but on the bright side, at least you have one.....46 days and counting for me! fed up!!!

To anyone else who got their AF, more hugs your way....BIGGER HUGS to aly and anyone about to POAS i send you magic baby dust x x

CaveMum · 19/04/2010 20:31

Another quiet day on the thread! How dare you ladies have a life outside of MN!

DH went back for the rest of his course yesterday, so it's back to the usual for us - only seeing each other at weekends. His course runs for another 4 weeks and then he goes back to work. We'll still be on "weekends only" but at least he can travel back to work on a Monday morning and leave work early on a Friday.

Oh well, guess I'll go talk with the cat!

Have a lovely evening whatever you're doing
