I have been lurking, but just wanted to post after reading Zippy's news. I, too am impressed by your attitude. I imagine that to some extent, it has to be a sort of relief to finally have an idea of what is happening and to be able to do something about it. I remember how scary it was when you had no idea what was causing your problems. Just try to stay positive and remember that you are now much closer to that BFP.

It seems that I'll likely be back here soon. My last few weeks have been a rollercoaster. I have always been fairly healthy. My BMI is 21, I eat healthy, exercise and have never had any indication of diabetes. If anything, I had occasional hypoglycemia from not eating. Well, six weeks into this pregnancy and I'm injecting myself with insulin 3 times a day (soon to be four if the baby lasts). I'm on an insane diet and schedule and check my blood 8 or more times a day. My hormones have never risen the way they should which indicates a non-viable pregnancy. The baby measures perfect and seems to be growing, but the odds of him making it much longer are very slim. The baby's problems may or may not be related to the diabetes. It's really all so unexpected and exhausting. It's possible that I had pre-diabetes before. This would mean that with any pregnancy, my chances of birth defects would be increased.

Oh well. It seems that we just never know what the big plan is. BTW, if anyone on here happens to have any family diabetes or is overweight, you might want to consider asking your doctor to check your sugar levels while ttc, or at least do it asap after a bfp. Most doctors don't seem to check right away, I just got lucky that it's the policy at my hospital.

Good luck to everyone testing and trying! I'm off again to see the doctor...

claireinthecommunity · 15/04/2010 16:36

Blimey, you're right cavemum it is soooo quiet on here lately!

Thought I'd just tell you all, baring in mind there is no such thing as TMI on this thread - I have had so much EWCM this month, I usually only get it for a day, two at the most and thought that I'd had my share earlier in the week. But no, today there is a load more, will have to make the most of this later Not sure if I have OV'd or not now probably not if I'm still getting EWCM?

claireinthecommunity · 15/04/2010 16:39

X post with aly, good to hear from you, I truly hope things work out for you and the baby - thinking of you x.

Dinkytinky · 15/04/2010 16:50

Hi everyone,
aly I'm so sorry you've been through so much, have been wondering how you are. It must be sk stressful but please don't lose hope and remember were always here for you. I'm really really hoping that your baby keeps growing, obviously it is a fighter to have stayed with you through these stressful times. All my love and wishes your way xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

not much new here, it's my last day before AF so I'm getting a bit nervous!
Hi to everyone else- sorry it's just a quick one, have had mad few days at work and am going to have to have a sleep!

PinkiePoo · 15/04/2010 16:51

aly i really hope and pray that things remain ok for you. I really do honey. x x x x

pipsicles · 15/04/2010 19:31

(((BIG Hugs))) to Aly - that must be really tough news for you to hear and I really feel for you. I hope things improve. I will be thinking of you and remember, you can always vent on here if you need to - that's what we're all here for. Take care x

CaveMum · 15/04/2010 20:10

Hi ladies, LONG day if meetings today - only got in from work half an hour ago.

Aly sorry to hear that things are not improving. I'd been popping into the Graduates thread to see how you were doing.

Quick question for y'all, as you know Ive started taking the pregnacare vitamins recently. Now the last few days I've noticed a difference in my CM (sorry if TMI). Admittedly I don't pay that much attention to it normally, but lately there does seem to be a lot more of it and I feel "damper down there"! Now I'm on the Pill so technically not ovulating, so how can there be a change in my CM?! I'm very confused! Surely the vitamins wouldn't make a difference to CM and not this quick - only been taking them 5 days ffs!

Perhaps I'm just noticing these sorts of things more now?

Anyway, off to microwave a meal for dinner, pour myself a glass of vino colapso and settle down to watch the Leaders' Debate.

maamalady · 15/04/2010 20:34

Hey all, just checking in. Just to let you know there's still no change for me, but I have made an appointment to see the nurse and get that blood test done on Tuesday. Hopefully it will say something useful!

I'm feeling quite dreadful today so haven't caught up with the thread - hugs to those that need them, and cheery thoughts to everyone else

cherrycobbler · 15/04/2010 21:35

just a quick one to say thinking of you aly so sorry you've had such a tough time xxx

good luck with nurse appt evilgiraffe!

MrsWajs · 15/04/2010 22:32

Evening all

Aly sorry to hear all is not going quite as planned for you with this pregnancy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed tight that it all works out for you (hugs)

Pinkie How awful having to go to a funeral of someone so young - they are always the worst, DP and I had one last year which was just so sad.
And as for your absent AF what a bloody pain in the arse! Did you go to the Dr's yet? My last was 45 days so try not to get to disheartened yet!! (I know this is totally impossible!!) When did you last POAS?? Also ex's will ALWAYS have a problem, I was just saying that to DP today - I wonder who we'll fill our day slagging off once all this is resolved hehe!! Then I remembered . . . . it never will be!

Cherry Thanks for the clarification of TCOYF - will endeavour to look it up and see what it says!

to be continued.................

Ariesgirl · 15/04/2010 22:39

Does anyone know how far in advance of ov EWCM appears? Should I jump on him tonight?

MrsWajs · 15/04/2010 22:43

Sorry replied then realised I hadn't read the last page, speaking of which can't believe we're at 887 messages already, this thread will soon be over!

Evil Good luck with your blood tests

Dinky Fingers crossed AF doesn't appear for you tomorrow - have you not been POAS'ing?? Lots of strong willed women on here!

Cavemum Sorry can't shed any light on the pregnacare vitamins as I'm not on them. I have heard people saying they can turn your wee yellow though I think??

Went to the shop tonight and bought grapefruit juice!!! I have to echo Aries' sentiments of last week - it does indeed taste like ghastly piss!! Forced half a glass down there though for good measure! Does anyone know, is there a specific time I should be drinking it?

MrsWajs · 15/04/2010 22:44

Jump Jump Jump Jump Jump

I wouldn't be taking any chances!! Is he asleep yet?

MrsWajs · 15/04/2010 22:48

I think I read somewhere that the last day of EWCM was the day you ov'd??? But totally don't quote me on that as I could be talking utter shit!!

And anyway how do you know which day will be the last day until there is no more and then you've missed it??????

felicityFlick · 16/04/2010 04:21

Hi Ladies,

Firstly let me send hugs, good wishes and positive vibes to aly, zippys and pinkiepoos. All three of you have had/are having your own difficulties to deal with and they really put lots of things into perspective for us all.

Especially given what I am about to rant about

Maybe you know what I'm going to say if you have been following my saga of annoyance at the in laws... You'll never guess what... They are stuck here with us because of that bloody volcano ash cloud

I am SOOOOOOOO gutted. I know sound like a selfish spoiled brat but they have been with us for two weeks now and I was gearing myself up that today was going to be their last day and no of course it is unlikely to be. Before they came we had 5 other visitors over the space of 3 weeks and we have 4 other visitors next weekend (just for the weekend though) so dh and I have been non stop for almost a month now. Of course, I am so happy to have visitors and I know I sound ungrateful but I had a nice weekend of nothing planned except catching up with dh, relaxing and Oh... I have two job interviews next week so was going to prepare for them over the weekend in my nice quiet house. AGHHH!! You know how it is when you have been aiming for a date and you keep going until that date and then what you were looking forward to doesn't happen? thats how I feel.

Like I said, the things that you ladies on here are dealing with put my whinge in to perspective so I don't expect sympathy just needed to vent and get it all out of my system!!!!

The silver lining to this bloody volcano debacle is... my best friend and her dp who stayed with us before the pils came went to Australia to visit her sister for two weeks after they were with us and they landed in HK last night expecting a 3 hour wait for their connection to Heathrow but obviously they too are stuck in HK so we are going to see them for dinner tonight which will be SOOOO nice. So it's not all bad I guess but am still peed off to put it mildly!

Any way, I dearly want to catch up and post to you all which I was planning to do tomorrow but now probably wont have time due to the extended stay of the pils. RAHH!

I will be lurking though and am still reading and just about keeping up to date(lucky it's been so quiet!) and as soon as THEY are gone and my interviews are over I will be back to my posting best!

Hope AF stays away dinky and that you enjoy all of that EWCM claire

xxxx

CaveMum · 16/04/2010 07:11

felicity sorry to hear you are still stuck with the pils. Rant away, it is what we are here for!

Aries hope you made the most of things last night

MrsWajs I've got the beginnings if bright yellow wee already!

I think I'm just 'symptom spotting' as it were and looking for differences in my body. God I'm going to be a nightmare when it comes to TTC!

Have a lovely day everyone!

PinkiePoo · 16/04/2010 07:47

Thanks mrswajs bloody nightmare!! CD 43 and i am seriously getting annoyed!! I POASed on Monday afternoon, but i am guessing it would definately be showing by now, plus have no symptoms other than on/off cramping which i have had since week before due on. I didn't go to docs......couldn't bear her say ' there is nothing we can do, so just keep on trying' was in no mood for smug doc!!! Did you have cramping up until CD45?? Why this month is it being a pain in the ass??

felicity thank you for your kind words...so so sad and just feel so much for her parents.
But on the other hand, don't worry about your rant, i would be exactly the same, and i think nice lovely daughter in law persona would have been straight out the window by now and they would have seen the 'real' me, ha ha, so your doing well!!

Cant you say that the airports are asking all passengers to wait at the airport just in case.....and then do a runner?? ha ha!

evilgood luck with the test also, hope everything is ok??

dinky ooooh let us know how you get on. Hope you have better luck than me!!!!

Phew, well a nice easy day for me. No plans other than doing all my lesson plans in prep for next week, i never change, leaving everything till the last minute!!

Enjoy your day lovely ladies x x

Morning all.

zippys It is really good to hear from you. I can only imagine how upsetting all this has been for you but want echo others thoughts about how positive you sound. You can do this! Even if it doesn't stop the sickness hopefully it will reduce it and help you feel in control. If you have to go down fertility treatment roots we'll be all be here for you and all this exercise and good eating will give you the best chance to acheive your BFP that way.

pinkie I am also very sorry for your loss, as others have said funeral's are about trying to celebrate and remember someones life but aged 28 she was taken away from us far too soon. I have my first smear next week and am very nervous about the whole thing but clearly cerival cancer is something not to be ignored. I will go to my smear and get checked out.

aly I've kept up with the grads thread so have read about your tough times. Good luck with everything at the doctors and keep in touch.

Mrswajs Sorry to hear the continuing saga of your DP's DS. His ex surely one day will mature and become more reasonable? You might have to hope so and just deal with one thing at a time. I hope he does get to come and stay with you soon. I think I confused myself with our complicated temping talk, hopefully if you aren't expecting to ov yet then it doesnt matter too much if you vary a little. Will you be doing the same hours for the next week or so? Its typical really that temping, EWCM can only tell us we ov'ed AFTER the event! Let me know if you buy TCOYF!

Cavemum I think you might just be in tune with your body a little more now you have a TTC plan. I think being on the pill can increase your levels.

pipsicles and aires Do you think sales of grapefruit juice are kept high by TTC women? I am going to buy some on saturday too but you aren't selling it to me. If its so bad why do they even sell it?!

claire and aires I hope you both took advantage of EWCM. It is supposed to be the last day of EWCM that you ovulate but I hear sperm lives best in that kind of CM so you are in with the best chance when you have it.

cherry Its the metal bit I hate! I don't think i'll go on to take thousands of temps like Toni Weschler after I stop TTC. Yuk. Also you have intrigued me, how cold are you? ! My temps have levelled off to be a steady 36.1 - 36.2 (pre ov). I hope you managed some SWI despite work .

misshoohaa Ooh good symptons. I've never imagined a metallic taste so I that sounds promising. Good luck for testing this weekend.

dinky I am hoping AF stays away. I hope your tiredness is a sympton and not just hard work making you tired.

Not much knew from me, still low fertility on CBFM, steady temps last few days. I am visiting a friend from university over the weekend so I can't decided whether to take the CBFM . I think i'll leave the thermometer at home as i'm drinking saturday night & will be sleeping in well past 7am but will take the CBFM as its still building up data about my cycle. I best go as am running late for work!

felicityFlick · 16/04/2010 08:40

Just found out that the two interviews I have next week are on the same day. Lovely! One is 10.30-11.15 and the other begins at 11.55. How ridiculous is that!

It's a very ranty day for me!

PinkiePoo · 16/04/2010 09:22

Ladies do you reckon i didn't OV my reasoning for no AF??

Driving me mad!!!

PinkiePoo · 16/04/2010 09:33

Well just did other test and still bfn.

I am getting concerned....does it mean something bad?? Feeling very fed up today!

Ariesgirl · 16/04/2010 09:38

'Fraid I missed the boat AGAIN last night. We were both asleep as soon as the light went out. It's not that we're a pair of cronies, honest - we're just working very long hours over the Easter holidays and at the same time trying to do all the accounts in the evenings for the bank. In any case, I don't think the CM is EW yet - more kind of cream. Eeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwwww! Sorry. I appreciate that not everyone on MN is waiting with bated breath for the daily up dates of my lack of sex life so I'll stop now.

Halo, grapefruit juice isn't that bad. Quite refreshing actually (though you may want to add a smidge of sugar).

kkas · 16/04/2010 10:57

another 'failure' at taking a break last night! now if only this continues into next week too!

claireinthecommunity · 16/04/2010 12:50

Aries, we missed the boat too, for similar reasons. DH and I are working a lot at the moment preparing for another trade fayre, getting into bed late and not really feeling like it

kkas, I'm really pleased to hear that things are going well for you and hubby of late

felicity, I really feel for you, I wouldn't have been able to cope with the two weeks, let alone a couple of extra days on top - rant away!

Pinkie, not sure about the OV thing, but sorry you are feeling fed up.

haloflo, hope you have a great weekend visiting your friend

Hello and to everyone else, busy weekend of work for us, hope you all enjoy your weekends
