oops i meant PSF (pre season friendly!)

Dinkytinky · 13/03/2010 14:11

Hi kkas what leaking incident?! You can't leave me hanging like that?! I hope your hubbub manages to calm his nerves :-( I'm sure you'll get you're bfp soon xxxxx

maamalady · 13/03/2010 14:33

Pre-season friendly is a great phrase! SO it wasn't so friendly after all though, kkas

Still no news here, but we are off to a friend's this evening so will at least not be thinking about it! I have been feeling very un-English this afternoon baking cookies to take with us - "All-American peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies". They are cooling as we speak and look pretty nice although incredibly calorific...

maamalady · 13/03/2010 14:34

Er, that should have been "Sorry", not "SO"

pixiestix · 13/03/2010 16:01

Wow, you guys chat a lot!

Fab news Bunny - massive congratulations!

So sorry about your BFN Zippys - it will happen for you.

Kaloki - you definitely deserve to be the thread starter, with all that that entails! Don't worry about the weight issue - I am overweight and was really worried about it, but conceived without too much stress and my blood pressure levels are perfect for this stage in my pregnancy according to the doc. So don't let anyone scare you or get you down about it!

Dinky - LOL at your mum. Although me and DH don't have a telly either - maybe that is what worked the magic!!!

cherrycobbler · 13/03/2010 17:03

dinky your TTC story is fab - I laughed out loud and DH demanded to know what was so funny!

Kkas loving the PSF phrase too, but sorry you're feeling in nowhere land (am assuming thats what NWL stands for - please set me straight if I'm wrong!).

Evilgiraffe those cookies sound amazing, please can you send one in the post to Cherrycobbler Cottage?

No sign of ov here, but prob to be expected due to cold and recent trip abroad. I am off to stay at my friend's tonight and planning to have a nice glass of wine (or two) so at least won't feel guilty about that.

Dinkytinky · 13/03/2010 18:18

Hi Ladies! Just a quick question- is increased appetite an early symptom or am I just trying to symptom spot? I mean, usually I go ages without eating but today I've had 4 bags of crisps, half a baguette,3 large bakery cookies..and that doesn't include breakfast and lunch! Also I just went and bought a box of fried chicken chips and onion rings and family bag of popcorn. I'm 10 dpi if that helps?xxx

Dinkytinky · 13/03/2010 18:18

Dpo sorry!

Ariesgirl · 13/03/2010 18:20

Oh God, please wish me luck. No I'm afraid it's nothing to do with babies, but Husband's family (five of them) are coming down for an entire week as from this evening . And tomorrow there will be nine of them. I'm doomed, doomed I tell you.

Dinkytinky · 13/03/2010 18:31

Oh god Aries good luck! There's nothing worse than other peoples families!

bunnygirl80 · 13/03/2010 21:09

dinky your window cleaner incident almost made me spit my coffee all over my computer screen. That is one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time

In answer to your appetite question - I always get really hungry at around 8/9 dpo, to the point where all I can think about is food and where I'm going to get it. It usually disappeared after a couple of days and then AF would arrive. This time though I am still hungry - I am most definitely eating for two at the moment. I hope my appetite settles soon, or I'll end up the size of a house So I suppose hunger might be a symptom, but then again it might not!

kkas Thanks for the congrats. I do actually remember your leakage incident, but I think dinky beats you in the crazy baby lady stakes

Flick I used the advanced setting on FF. Be warned though - I realised that it's been getting my ov day wrong every cycle. It has always put it 2 days late as I seem to get a temp dip after ov before the rise. Even though the advanced setting is supposed to take things like ewcm into account, it didn't seem to pick up that my ewcm and other ov signs would disappear 2 days before my temp rose. I spent a couple of months convinced I had a short LP and worrying about it, before I figured out what was going on. I think your plan of just tracking your cycles for a while is a good one, as you should be able to tell whether it agrees with your own assessment of what your body is doing. I don't know how much the temping helped me in the end, as my cycles have all been irregular since I came off the pill - it was most useful for predicting AFs arrival by seeing a drop at the end of my cycle....or in this month's case an increase

Aries good luck with the in-laws. I've now calculated that this bean was most likely conceived when MIL was asleep in the next room I think the same happened to ozziegirly, so maybe having your DH's family to stay will work for you too

To add to the boob monitoring debate - mine are so sore I don't need to jiggle them to check - I just need to move my arms. I'm not getting much sleep as if I lie on them I get woken up by the pain! And they are definitely bigger already - and not even just subtley bigger, DH can tell too. I am becoming concerned that they are going to try and take over the world!

MrsWajs · 13/03/2010 23:46

Dinky that'll teach you for not cleaning your own windows hehe!! I too have tried the pillow technique but thankfully no-one else knows about that, well except you lot now I guess!

Having a majorly crap day today firstly DP tells me he might be made reduntant next week then I get woken up by workmen on my neighbours roof doing god knows what! And then to top it all letter comes through the post from DP's ex's solicitor refusing extra contact with his son!!!!!!

That's 2 shitty things I guess AF would just make it a nice round 3!!! Grrrrrrrr....

Dinkytinky · 14/03/2010 00:18

Oh mes wajs that terrible-both things,I really hope your dh doesnt lose his job, sending lots of cuddles and good luck your way.how much contact does dh have with his child at the moment? I'm not trying to judge but I don't understand why adults argumnts can't be settled so that kids can see both their mum and dad. My dad was so important to me growing up I think it's a shame that dads who do want to see their kids are denied?! Hope you manage to get a good sleep mrs xxx

MrsWajs · 14/03/2010 00:36

Thanks dinky helps to vent a bit on here because obviously DP is as stressed as I am about so don't want to keep going on about it to him!

Will know more about the job front on Monday, but a little aprehensive as the balance of our holiday is due on Wednesday and now not sure if we should pay or cancel!!

At the moment we have DS Fri-Sun every 2nd weekend which is good but we felt 2 weeks was a long time not to see him in between as he's just over 2 so changing a lot and learning lots of new things and we don't want to miss out on that. We suggested a further overnight stay mid week on the week we didn't usually have him which she initially agreed to but has now back tracked and decided that laying down her terms of access through a solicitor was a better idea?!?!? I could go on and on about this but it'd take up the entire page! I'm just really sad it's had to come to this I thought she could be mature enough to discuss it with us like adults but it appears not!

haloflo · 14/03/2010 09:40

AF arrived today for me, one day early. I woke at half 6 with really bad cramps.

I'm not in too much pain now, just mad at myself for daring to hope it was my month. I might take a break from TTC if theres nothing next month. Make some plans for the summer and restart later in the year.

Hi to Cherrycobbler, nice to meet you.

Luckyseven I've skipped you to CD24. Good luck xx

Also in case anyone was wondering why my talk name refers to the evil witch, its because my actual name is Florence.

kkas · 14/03/2010 10:01

haloflo sorry to hear about AF. take it easy today hun.

mrswajs sounds very stressful. i also find it hard to believe that a mum would use her children against their father like that. so sad and immature!

aries good luck with the inlaws!

evilgiraffe i would love some of those cookies too!!!

dinky a few months ago, after a good SWI attempt on a sunday morning, i stayed in bed with feet in the air for a while, but then DH made me get up so we could go grocery shopping. it was pouring down with rain so DH wanted to run to the shop across the car park. i started after him but then was very 'uncomfortable' so stopped. he shouted back, what's wrong and i shouted, "i'm leaking!" needless to say that shut him up! but i still think your pillow story takes the

if i hadn't just had AF, i would have thought that completely mis-reading our theatre tickets for avenue q and showing up at 7pm for a 5pm show last night (which we just assumed started at 7:30pm) could have been a pg symptom... instead it's just me being ditzy. felt so bad as i had bought the tix for my DH's birthday a few weeks ago and he was really looking forward to the show. i've promised to take him again soon and we ended up having a heart to heart chat in a wine bar in leicester square instead. so it turned out ok, but still don't know where my head is at the moment!

luckyseven · 14/03/2010 11:12

Morning girls,

haloflo gutted for you this morning, maybe take a few days before deciding to take a break? It is really stressful and if time is on your side getting back to your life pre-ttc could be the breath of fresh air you need. i am so nervous about tomorrow, i am scared to go to the bathroom in case AF turns up and then yesterday like a crazy baby lady i went into Boots to 'visit' the Clearblue digital tests - will keep you updated but i am feeling pretty negative - i have sore boobs but dh says that is because i keep poking them.

mrswaj sorry to hear about your stressful situation, I hope the job news is positive next week. My dh was threatened with redundancy 6 weeks before our wedding, there were 8 of them and they kept 3 people, he stayed but now 3 of them do the work of 8 and he is super stressed, works ridiculous hours but a job is a job right now. I really hope it works out for you.

aries good luck with the in laws - been there done that and my granny was in the next room. (luckyseven hangs her head in shame)

bunnygirl many congratulations i love good news! Shocked to hear what you were saying to cherrycobbler about pineapple - i love it and will add it to the list of things i will eat and drink next week if it is a BFN! (red wine, smelly cheeseboard, pate etc)

flick like bunny i had dicrepancies with Fertilty friend / ov sticks and my CBFM using the advanced setting - my temp was rising two days after i ovd. The advantage i see in doing ff is that you are tracking your SWI habits and all other symptoms at the same time and it may be useful down the line to bring to the gp if you dont get your BFP within the year. I recently scared my GP with my graphs!

kkas just love Pre-season friendly will def appeal to my football mad dh

Sorry for going on for ages and sorry of I left anyone out.

Happy 'I want to be a Mother Day'

Kaloki · 14/03/2010 11:34

dinky That is brilliant! I'd love to have seen the window cleaner's face!

pixiestix Thankyou, that's really reassuring to know

ariesgirl I think I'd go mad! Good luck, hope you survive

MrsWajs I'm really sorry to hear that I hope you get some good news, you deserve it

haloflo That sucks, hopefully next month will be your month!

Well we have a v small rented 2 bedroom house (so not spacious at all sadly!) and two of them are with us for the week and the other three are in a holiday let nearby. haven't had too bad a day though fairly toddler-centric. Vitamins and baby books are in a cupboard. Worst thing is it's a SWI week and at the same time we're extremely busy with work. Sneaking in sessions very quietly and in a pretty business like manner. So romantic

MrsWajs · 14/03/2010 23:53

Aww thanks you guys - Dinky, kkas, luckyseven, kaloki and calligraphy82 and everyone else for being so supportive!

This weekend has completely done my head in!! Kinda getting to grips with it all now, hopefully tomorrow we will know more on the job front and to be honest I'm trying not to think about that for now - no point crying til the milk's spilt eh!!

As for the witch (no, not AF the other one!) looks like we will be consulting our own solicitor this week also, makes me really, really sad but I feel she is backing us in to a corner and we have no other option. We still want to avoid the court route at all costs so are going to send a letter refusing her terms and suggesting family mediation instead and hopefully can come to a mutual agreement that way.

Had a little look at some of the parenting forums on here too but a lot of them seem to be mums who's ex's want nothing to do with their kids so not really the same situation as ours I was always under the impression that single mums would be more than happy for the dads to take an interest in their child and want to have a relationship with them, however I think a lot of her problem may be DP's son having a relationship with me!! Which I always expected but hey ho!

Anyway on the plus side of it all - yes there is one! I haven't once thought about being pg or not!! So now only 5 days to wait out and I reckon my mind will be kept busy til then!!

Hope everyone else is good or at least a bit better than me! Haloflo sorry about AF sneaking up on you early, she's a bitch for that!

And apologies for my mammoth post!!!! All about me too, how selfish!x

bunnygirl80 · 15/03/2010 00:16

calligraphy I don't think it'll feel real for a few months weeks yet. Maybe when I get a scan and actually see that there's someone in there it might feel a bit more real. At the moment I feel a bit like it must be some kind of mistake - but I'm sure it's hard to get 4 false positives

We haven't told anybody yet - DH has gone super traditional and wants to wait until after 12 weeks! I might persuade him to let me tell close family in a couple of weeks when we've got a bit more used to the idea ourselves.

MrsWajs sorry that your DH's job sounds uncertain. And I hope you can work out access to his DS with his ex. I can't really understand why people want to prevent their children from seeing a parent after a split -after all it's not his DS's fault the relationship didn't work out

Dinkytinky · 15/03/2010 00:19

Ahh mrs wajs, I'm sorry you've had a crappy weekend, the evil witch sounds like a nightmare, I think in a way tho that you're better off going through solicitors,at least then everythings official. Why do you think she's threatened by you? The only thing I can think of is Maybe while he's with you you could encourage him to make a painting for his mum or make fairy cakes and send him home with some for her so that she doesn't feel like you're taking over the mummy role and she's being forgotten about? Not long til we test! Is it Thursday? I'm pretty sure I'll have af or a bfn, Ive had one tiny wave of nausea and broken out in pimples, yuck! But I never thought I'd get a bfp in my first month of trying. Good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for your dhxxxxx

MrsWajs · 15/03/2010 02:35

Thanks bunnygirl I agree entirely with you, at the end of the day it isn't DS's fault that he's in this situation (actually it's hers but that's a whole different story) and sooner or later she will have to bite the bullet and just accept the way things are. Still excited that you're pg! do you feel any different??

Dinky I suppose I do assume the roll of mummy when he is with us for the weekend but it's impossible not to, he's too young to understand the implications of everything but he knows I am me and that his mummy is his mummy, in fact he actually calls me daddy (much to DP's disgust!) so I guess I know from that, that he associates me with his dad, if that makes sense.

I think mainly her problem is that it was her fault they broke up but she's never accepted responsibility for it! She cheated with DP's (ex)friend and fell pregnant at the same time so didn't actually know who the father was and chose not to disclose this fact until she was 6 months gone!!! Therefore DP had to go through the labour etc not knowing if the baby was his. DNA tests confirmed DS was DP's but by that time he had decided to leave anyway as there was no trust left, he got loads of abuse for leaving a young baby but not many people really knew what had gone on.

Anyway, Jeremy Kyle eat your heart out, it now bugs her that he's moved on and is happy again and she's still wallowing in a puddle of her own self pity!! She LOVES to play the 'poor me' act!
That's the short version lol!!

Yeah Thursday would be 30 days for me but not sure if I'm gonna test yet or not, might hold out til the Sunday as I'm not convinced I've caught an egg this month, think getting AF is somehow easier than the disappointment of a negative test!?!

Will update you all tomorro on DP's job status!! Another mega post - nightshift is making me wordy!! Ciao x
