Aw I know mrs wahj! Ooh I want to first response as I'm an impatient so and so but have had a false-ish positive before with early tests an am a bit nervous of them! I think I would rather wait until 19th.a week and two days seems like a veeery long time though!

Would someone mind please adding me to the stats? I know I'm new but I think I maybe frolicking here for a while! Dinkytinky TTC#1 cycle1cd18.

bunny- V. exciting! Do you have any other symptoms? The temp going up is a pretty sure sign.... (can we tempt you? TEST, TEST, TEST!!! zippys am excited for you!

kurly I feel for you did the doc have any helpful advice at all?

sorry about your bfn evil. The pill is a horror for messing us up isn't it?

Welcome to cavemum- I like your name!

Any news today kaloki? Am thinking of you.

MrsWajs- so funny that you didn't want your dh to see you had slated him!

So, I was making burgers earlier... I had to bind them together with egg white... Guess what I thought of?! He he!! It made we feel very sick indeed!

Dinkytinky · 10/03/2010 15:31

felicity - Hi thankyou for adding me!I was worried it'd be ckeeky if I did it myself. Eww you just made me spit my cuppa out.egg white indeed! lol! I hope your cycles settles down soon hun x

CaveMum · 10/03/2010 18:10

Thanks for all the kind words ladies, nice to know you're a friendly bunch!

I'm going to try not to post too much at the moment - if we're not going to TTC till this time next year I may drive myself insane reading about everyone else and their BFPs so I will lurk and pop in every now and again to ask silly questions.

haloflo · 10/03/2010 19:24

Ok it's confession time. I did a test when I got home from work - BFN! As it was no surprise I don't actually mind. It meant that I went for a run and filled my head with baby free plans for the next couple of weeks and its stopped me building up my hopes too much.

Having said that i'm in for testing on the 14th luckyseven (it was BOGOF on first response twin packs! Clearly only meant for POAS addicts as who else would need 4 tests?!!). That way I will know either way before AF arrives and won't have to cope with a disappointment on the same day as the witch!

Sorry about your BFN evilgiraffe I am coming to the conclusion that many GP's brush off the effects of long time pill use on our bodys. Although I also think I would have taken no notice when I was 16. Heres hoping that you and others get settled into cycles soon.

Felicityflick I'm not sure I will every look at eggs the same again!

Whilst we are on star signs I am also a fellow Aries, birthday is just over 3 weeks away!

MrsWajs · 10/03/2010 19:35

dinkytinky re: accidental pregnancy - it's almost never an accident the maths is easy lol I just meant that these girls weren't planning on it as painstakingly as all of us!!

I'll not be testing early either - far too expensive to be doin that every cycle, I can usually tell a few days before AF that she's en route anyway So that's just s few extra days of feeling sorry for myself before the actual event!!

zippys · 10/03/2010 20:03

Bunnygirl I thnk a temp rise actually gives good reason to come off your no symptom spotting etc I too want to hold off until Sunday (if Af does not arrive before then)

whiteroses nice to hear from you, I cant believe you are coming into your 2nd trimester, how quickly has time gone. Your boob news make me feel better. Although I am still jiggling away, just in case

eugh at the burgers flick, I dont I will ever see them the same again either!

Cavemum you are right everyone is lovely here, just pop in whenever you want, and no question is ever too silly.

Sorry about BFN Haloflo, where were 1st response bogof - the poas addict is getting excited

Mrswaj I know what you mean about testing every cycle, my first couple of months off the pill I tested quite a bit, usually early. But as time has gone on I wait till I am really late before testing, although it does mean that you continue with that hope for longer when maybe you shouldnt.

luckyseven · 10/03/2010 20:28

i second zippys, haloflo wherefore art thy bogof first responses?

I need to get my hands on some as in a moment of lunacy told dh to hide them on me to stop me testing and can't find them - it was like hunting for Christmas presents!

apologies for what i am about to say but dh is not that up for testing on Mothers Day in the morning in case we are upset so wants to wait to the evening - cold i 'bottle' my first morning dew wee and test that night?

haloflo · 10/03/2010 20:32

The first responses were at Superdrug & were £10.79 for 4 tests. I read about them another thread on conception so can't take any credit for spotting the bargain.

bunnygirl80 · 10/03/2010 21:11

MrsWajs my DH always tries to read over my shoulder when I post. I think the fact that I'm a bit secretive about it just makes him curious....I think he's worried what I write about him

Flick I forgot to say yesterday that you can now have a status on MN - so you can write about your good news from FF in a place where people will understand you!! I am keeping quiet about whether I think I have any symptoms or not - I am enjoying the air of mystery I am creating

cavemum if you post enough on here you will be sucked in and off the pill before you know it!!!

I agree with zippys - early testing is evil! My personal opinion is that it's so inaccurate before AF that you just end up convincing yourself that a BFN is a false negative and keep testing repeatedly. It's just a marketing ploy by clearblue to make money out of FR. I'm sure there are stats on another thread (probably the step away from the FR threads) that a FR is only 50-60% accurate 5 days before AF - you'd get the same level of accuracy by tossing a coin. Still doesn't stop me from chanting test test test at people though!

I think the Aussies must be even more addicted to POASing than the Brits as FR over here come in packs of 3.

After that rant about testing still no AF for me so will be off to buy some tests later - but AF is now 3 days late so am allowed to test!

OP posts:
MrsWajs · 10/03/2010 21:18

I think I've only ever done 1 or maybe 2 early tests (very proud of my will power!) prefer just to hang it out and save more pennies for buying the ridiculously expensive Ov prediction kits instead!! Although they've seemingly proved fruitless this month! And to add insult to injury I saw they are on special in Tesco for £15 when I paid £22.99 in Boots - gutted!!

zippys · 10/03/2010 21:26

lucky I'm not sure about leaving wee, I would just test but not with FMU.

Halo thanks for that I may well nip in tomorrow.

Bunny 3 days late and a temp rise, sounds v v promising to me. Are you still planning on holding out till sunday?

I hast just watched OBEM and cried through most of it!

Dinkytinky · 10/03/2010 22:33

Lucky I think it would be ok - maybe in a sealed old water bottle or something? Just don't let your dh mistake it for apple juice!

I've got a bit of a silly question ladies, does having hot baths everyday affect concieving? I have them quite late in the evening...sorry I probably sound like a right idiot! Xxx

bunnygirl80 · 11/03/2010 02:23

Luckyseven I'm not sure about storing wee - probably best to use fresh stuff, even if it's not fmu as long as you don't drink too many fluids first then the test should still work

dinky I don't know about hot baths and TTC in women. Boys should avoid them as it boils their swimmers to death. I know excessive heat can affect cell division in early pg, so you should avoid hot water bottles to the tummy post ov. If I were you to be on the safe side I would keep the bath water on the cooler side post ov - probably won't make a difference at all, but better to err on the side of caution

Hi all,

This is such a nice thread! cavemum- please stay and keep me company

How are you doing today bunny- did you decide on testing on sat or are you waiting until Sunday or just ging with the flow (not af flow of course )?
I have my best friend visiting from the UK as of tomorrow and I am now panicking and trying to think of ways I can get on to MN over the weekend to see if you and any others have tested. What a sad state of affairs! Gosh, I am so obsessed! We are going away for a night whilst she is here and will be sharing a hotel room and I am already thinking about how I will manage to take my temperature with her in the room! God help you all when I am actually ttc again as I am obsessed enough as it is and I'm not even trying at the min! Please someone tell me that I am not the only crazy on here......!!

haloflo sorry for BFN but keep testing

luckyseven- I've hunted for tests before!! It did make me wait though which is a good thing!

zippys when are you testing?

zippys · 11/03/2010 08:26

Morning,

I am not sure about hot baths Dinky I know you should avoid them too hot when you get pregnant, so I would agree with Bunny best to be on the safe side

Bunny what are you going to do if the thread runs out before you test? Would you test earlier than Sunday? I can see there been a huge fight for the starting the next one off!

oh dear flick if you are starting to get that obsessed already there is no hope for you! You are well and truely a crazy baby lady . Is it tomorrow your Dad has his scan? If it is I hope it all goes ok.

I think I am still going to try to hold out until Sunday as that will be day 41 and the longest cycle I've had since coming off the pill. If I go a bit quiet over the next few days dont worry I just have loads and loads on, but I will give you a quick phone update if either AF arrives or BFP. (Although I an 99% sure it will AF )

Bellaby · 11/03/2010 08:40

Morning Ladies

I've only been away from here for a few days and so much has been written -that'll teach me.

Well I finally have some news this morning. AF has arrived. Actually it might well have arrived last night so not sure if I should count yesterday or today? Anyway I'm very happy about this as didn't think it would be so soon. Think I might even buy one of those ov monitors today as a treat. Even DH has been taking an interest in my cycle asking if AF hd arrived yet- actually think a bit of action last night was what hurried it along.

I've added myself to the updated list at the bottom - please let me know if I've done anything wrong.

Welcome DinkyTinky MrsWajs -poor you with OH coming back drunk and on a Monday night as well! Glad you have made up. Like you I love the way my DH keeps tying to look over my shoulder at this site. He's very understanding as well when I should be doing around the house he'll say 'don't worry you're on your site'! Long may it last.

Mumsnerves - hope all the scans go ok for you. And thanks for reminding us about the drinking part -now that really will be a guilt-free treat for the weekend!

Drewsgirl - mang congrats.

Zippys - fingers crossed for you

Claire - hope you are getting the SWI plan back on track!

evilgiraffe - sounds like your department will have nobody left to do the work in 9 months time!

haloflo - watching your symptom spotting with interest....

Kurlyvoice - sorry to hear you are feeling down. It will happen. I know what you mean about lying - I was thinking I would do exactly the same thing if it came to that.

CaveMum - welcome. You'll get all the advice you need here from the great wise ones! (not me!)

luckyseven - your little bedroom story made me laugh so thank you for sharing! Can't wait to hear how the test goes...

Calligraphy -sorry to hear about your OHs sixth sense. How about you tell him you OV at an earlier point in the cycle and then he might be more up for it (no pun intended) at the right time - or is that too devious???

Ariesgirl - space for one more in no-womans land? Can we give this an abbreviation (NWL)??

evilgiraffe -sorry to hear about BFN

Bunny - good luck this weekend. I really hope it is your time xxx

Whiteroses - thanks for popping in to see us

Ariesgirl · 11/03/2010 08:41

There are 32 messages left. A new thread is needed.....what shall we call it?

FelicityFlick · 11/03/2010 08:57

Oh no! The thread can't run out before bunny tests! Posts like this will not help the situation but just wanted to say thank you to zippys for remembering about my Dad's scan. Yes it is tomorrow- So sweet of you to remember xxx

kkas · 11/03/2010 09:09

I'm joining you in the NWL aries and bellaby.... boring! although might resort to bellaby's tactics and tell DH i'm ov right now so he'll be up for it in a week!

pixiestix · 11/03/2010 10:17

LOL at the predictions of a thread starting catfight! I will keep an eye out for the ten simultaneous Frolickers threads. All I can say is, it worked for me last time!!

I am coming up to my 12 week scan - feeling very excited and nervous at the same time. I have absolutely no idea what we will do if the news is bad - in a way I wish I wasn't having the scan at all so I could just bury my head in the sand!
But - for all you boob jigglers, I totally agree with Roses. My boobs were exactly the same for weeks after my BFP. They are a bit sensitive now but they look exactly the same as they ever did. So put the boobs down ladies!!

Good luck in your testing Zippys and Bunny - I hope the thread theory works!!!!

FelicityFlick · 11/03/2010 11:34

wow pixie- can't believe it's 12 weeks!!! Please come back and tell us about the scan.

I was just thinking.... another reason to get pregnant is so that I can make dh empty the cat litter! My most despised household chore which I have just begrudgingly done!

MrsWajs · 11/03/2010 11:59

Oh yeah I meant to ask that last night, how many messages do we get on a thread - 1000? And who will start the next one and what will it be called.....??

seablue · 11/03/2010 13:35

Hello all -

I'm just altering the list to take myself out for this month while I wait to have my HSG...

Feel like the child who's just been sick who has to sit out the next party game!

Very excited about your symptoms bunny and zippys - fingers crossed!

And good news about AF bellaby - hopefully that means everything is gearing up and good to go.

Hi to dinky and cavemum. No question too stupid. No preoccupation too crazy.

GP told me to avoid hot baths, btw (both of us).

Am wondering whether being forbidden from BDing until the test will produce a ferment of desire in me and DH? Two star-crossed lovers, doomed never to consummate their passion... Or will we just be grateful not to have to SWI next week when there's all that marking to be done??!

New Thread: The First Time Frolickers Ride Again? First Time Frolickers - still crazy after all these threads?
