After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Hi ladies

Graduated in Sept, but going through an m/c right now - was 11+4 when it started - the day of my dating scan which I never got as I ended up in A&E, and the day after my 39th birthday

Such a scary, horrible, bloody, messy thing I was absolutely terrified when it all started and went into shock because of the extreme and sudden blood loss which is still ongoing

Will hopefully be TTC'ing once I get over the shock of all this and sort out my emotions - maybe I'll be back here after Xmas.

ClaireDeLoon · 12/11/2008 21:09

oh Jools I am so very sorry. What an awful thing. I hope you're OK, the bleeding sounds awful. I mc at 9 weeks and the bleeding started for me very slowly so I had time to get used to what had happened before the heavy bleeding started. Whenever you're ready to come back and try again we'll be here for you. Big hugs.

Issy42 · 13/11/2008 18:49

Jools - so sorry to hear of your mc . I can't even begin to imagine how devastated you must be feeling. One of my best friends mc'd at 10 weeks last year and had to wait 3 months before trying again. She decided to do something amazing that she wouldn't be able to do when pg to give her something to look forward to, so went on a horse riding trek across a desert somewhere exotic. She's now 15 weeks pg, so there's still hope and she's 37 so similar age. As Claire says we'll be here for you when you're ready. More .

Spats - yes, day 21 (or half way through your luteal phase) is progesterone - AFAIK anything over 30 is good and between 20 and 30 is borderline. I also had TSH(?) on day 3 as well as LH and FSH to check thyroid was OK.

Good luck everyone!

Lionstar · 14/11/2008 10:45

Jools, so sorry to hear your news. Sadly looks like I will also be re-joining this thread as the 12 week scan yesterday seems to show a missed miscarriage. Scan showed sac and embryo of no more than 6 weeks and no heartbeat . Was pretty cut up at the time, couldn't stop crying and the scan clinic let me out the back way so wouldn't have to face all those bumps on the way out. Have to go for another scan on Tuesday just to confirm, then have to decide if need medical management or if it will happen naturally.

Will probably start TTC stright away, though I know they recommend waiting a couple of cycles. Am feeling a bit numb at the moment - more shock than anything. It strangely doesn't feel like a bereavement, just emptiness - am I strange? In my heart of hearts I suspected something might be up, it took ages to get a BFP (43 days), then I had totally no symptoms not even the increased weeing which I remember so well from last time. So in a way I was prepared for the sight on the screen, still cried buckets though. We told loads of people too - am not looking forward to updating them. Am not going to answer the phone for a couple of days.

Actually I've just realised that maybe this isn't the place to go into such detail here and bring you all down. I just don't know where else to write it. Forgive me.

Jools1 · 14/11/2008 12:04

Oh Lionstar - what you're going through was my worst nightmare - seeing that on the screen feels like it must be worse than simply bleeding out

I've joined a lovely thread in the miscarriage forum - you will get all the answers and support you need in there till you are ready to TTC again - and my GP said yesterday that I don't necessarily need to wait for even one cycle if I don't want to.

Come over here if you want to chat

spats · 14/11/2008 19:48

lionstar and Jools my heart goes out to you both. Be brave and take care of yourselves. hugs to you both. x

ClaireDeLoon · 14/11/2008 21:08

oh Lionstar I'm so very sorry. I don't know what else to say. Don't worry about saying things on here at all, we're here to support each other after all. I'm so sad for you and Jools, and am sending you both hugs.

Issy42 · 15/11/2008 12:19

So sorry to hear that Lionstar . Sending more hugs as also don't what else to say.

spats · 15/11/2008 14:08

i have decided to take agnus castus today in a bit to get my lp from 10-11 days to 14 so gives more chance for implantation. So no i take that, EPO and grapefruit juice and have come off my daily antihistamine as that drys up the mucus. And am going to to DH plan. THis is getting more technical than a NASA mission!!! x

SJGTFAB · 15/11/2008 18:01

Hi
may I join this thread? I am 36, miscarried in July and got my period in August, then took 40 days for my next period to come and have had nothing since (46 days and counting) a pregnancy test came back negative. Have been to see my Dr they said to do another pregnancy test and go back this week if there is still no period. I feel like my body is playing some kind of trick on me making me think I am pregnant when I'm not. At my pregnancy scan last time I found out I had pcos although I had always had regular periods, i had only been on the pill 2 years and got pregnant on my 1st month of trying. Trying not to obsess about getting pregnant but with all my friends getting pregnant I am finding it hard

ClaireDeLoon · 15/11/2008 20:23

Hey SJGTFAB (that's a tricky one! ) and welcome, lets hope in the nicest possible way you aren't here long. I'm very sorry to read about your mc - there are a few of us who have gone through similar experiences sadly.

Has your doc said anything about how the pcos will affect things? I'm sorry I just don't know that much about it. Lets hope your cycles get back to being regular - or even better you're pregnant soon.

Issy42 · 16/11/2008 18:47

Welcome SJGTFAB, sorry to hear about your mc.

Hope the agnus castus works for you spats .

I had a BFN with a CB digital this morning at day -3. I know I could be in the 13% who don't get a positive until later, but just feel that I'm not.

Bought the pregnacare conception for next cycle. It's 3 x more expensive than the ordinary ones but my friend who is now 15 weeks told me last week that she took them the month she conceived and since next cycle is probably my last attempt, I'm throwing everything at it.

SJGTFAB · 16/11/2008 23:02

Update - I have just done another pregnancy test as I could bear it no longer and this one says that I am pregnant! I am going to try and get a Drs appointment asap and after last time I am trying not to get too excited.

babyblue3 · 17/11/2008 00:04

Hi everyone. Can I join in? I just turned 36 and am trying to conceive #4. I had my first ever m/c last month so I am a little nervous about the whole process. But on the positive side, I fell pg on the first try... so there is hope for us! Also, I'm not entirely sure how many tubes I have open as I had them tied 2 years ago (and still got pg with #3 a year later!).

Issy42 · 17/11/2008 00:45

Congratulations SJGTFAB. Hope you get your confirmation quickly.

Welcome babyblue - sorry to hear of your mc.

PictureThis · 17/11/2008 20:48

Hello, can I join this thread, I'm 35 and we've been trying to concieve #2 for almost a year. Issy where did you get your pregnacare conception from? and can anyone tell me what agnus cactus does.

MoominMoma · 17/11/2008 20:52

Hi
SJGTFAB here, have changed my name as it was annoying me trying to remember it! Went to the Dr tonight and he is sending me for a blood test to try and confirm how far gone I am as I had the negative test last week. Also I am bleeding again (it started this morning - its like my body knows) so I may have to have an early scan again if I get that far.

Issy42 · 17/11/2008 23:30

Welcome picturethis - I got mine from Holland and Barratt. Apparently Tescos and accessdiagnostics.com also have them.

Moomin (that's a lot easier to type ) - hope your blood test results are good and bleeding stops.

ClaireDeLoon · 18/11/2008 13:36

Welcome picturethis and I second Issy Moomin - good luck and I hope the bleeding stops.

PictureThis · 18/11/2008 17:22

Up until last month my periods were every 27 days. Then last month 21 days. Working on an average, my period should have been due on the 15th.
Tested yesterday with a Boots own brand and got a BFN, still no sign of it today. If it hasn't arrived by Friday then I'll test again. If period does arrive then I will get some Pregnacare conception for next month.

Issy42 · 18/11/2008 18:32

Hope AF stays away PictureThis.

My temp dropped right back well below my coverline this morning so that's me definitively out for this cycle . AF should arrive later tonight/tomorrow.

Good luck everyone xxx

ClaireDeLoon · 18/11/2008 20:18

We need a new thread!

MoominMoma · 19/11/2008 17:14

Thanks Issy42, blood tests came back with the right result so at the Dr on Monday to book in etc. Bleeding has stopped so he has put off going for an early scan. I think I might go private though as I don't think I can wait to know what is going on in there.

LemonyAle · 20/11/2008 01:08

New thread here

jellylegs · 03/12/2008 15:37

hi every one.Was on here a long time ago and sadly here I am again. I miscarried last week after TTC no 3 for 8 months. I am very sad. Now am also on miscarriage page as still bleeding and feeling low. Need some inspiration. Just read Jools1 and sounds like a similar experience. Had been pregnant for 2 months(even thought of a name-stupid I know) and then started to bleed. Blighted Ovum????? It is horrendous.xx
