After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Go for it, choccie

I am only assuming your DH isn't into golf or football. Last night mine was zapping from one to the other. After putting DD to bed, I asked if he would care to join me in the bath. And his answer was:

"Sorry, watching something"

DarrellRivers · 22/09/2008 20:03

Flowerfairy sheepishly knocks on door and asks in a very shy and quiet voice- please can i come back in?

flowerfairy · 22/09/2008 20:31

Have had a break from the ttc ffrenzy and am feeling much more relaxed. Am on cd20 and having a really weird month. Bd on days 9, 11 and 12 then on day 16 or 17 had a tiny bleed and lots of brown mucus/discharge stuff for a couple of days and lots of cramps. Nothing for 2 days then today i have ewcm coming out like a river. WTF??!! Am tempted to jump on dh tonight to see if this is the ewcm that will help ttc. I just don't kno wwhat to think this month at all. But as i say am much more relaxed and determined to stay calm so i will be popping in and out. Wishing good vibes to all.

DarrellRivers · 22/09/2008 20:31

DarrellRivers · 22/09/2008 20:36

Sorry to hear that dr. That's why i had to tske a break because i was just getting out of control with my thoughts and moods. I'm kind of fed up of ttc, does that make sense, i just hate that disappointment and i was determined not to fall into that trap again, then tis little bleed i had started me thinking what if i was this month, so have to keep plodding on. I know it was too early for an implantation bleed in the back of my mind with the length of my cycle, but i still find myself wishing and hoping each month.

DarrellRivers · 22/09/2008 20:45

i've stopped temping
and think to myself will probably take a year so don't feel let down each month

Hi

can I join in, I'm new to this site. I'm 38 & have been ttc#1 for 5 months. I'm on CD9. I have adrs appointment in the morning as my blood tests came back with an abnormal result. I have an abnormaly high level of prolactin which dr thinks may hamper ttc. She may need to refer me to a specialist.

DarrellRivers · 25/09/2008 09:06

Welcome JF, Good luck this morning, how high was your prolactin level?
If it is quite high it will affect your cycles, but the main thing is to find out why it is high.
I am CD 24 of cycle 4.
Have just had early MC so now think will take 1 year to conceive
Hi everyone else, [waves]

Hi everyone, not stopped by for a while. Welcome JF. I have to ask a really silly question now - what is proloactin?

I hope everyone is feeling positive and gearing up for some serious BD!

We're off to France at some godforsaken hour of tomorrow morning for a family wedding on Saturday. France is lucky for us - DS was concieved on our short honeymoon in Paris!

Thought I'd try temping this month - is a range of 35.9-36.1 normal?

DarrellRivers · 25/09/2008 10:59

Hi WP, it is a hormone produced by your pituitary gland and is produced when breastfeeding to fill breasts with milk.
So pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause it to be raised, and other things like drugs etc.
It may negatively feed back on your other reproductive hormones however it is high so that your periods and ovulation are affected
Have fun in France, and hope you have good luck
May the force be with you

Oh My God I am obsessing again......we BD twice around my fertile time and now I am picking up on every little thing my body feels.

I did an OPK test yesterday to see if my egg was popping and there was a very very faint line. Much fainter than the day before, so I must have ovulated on CD14 this month (normally CD15).

I have had an upset tummy for the last couple of days and a bit of abdominal aching. How do I stop reading into all of this and just relax?????? AAARRHH

dustyb · 26/09/2008 16:38

DarrellRivers · 26/09/2008 17:35

Hello dusty
CD=cycle day, CD1 first day period
AF-auntieflo =period( i hate the term)
BD =babydance =sex (hate BD as well)

OP posts:
chocciedooby · 26/09/2008 18:16

Lets just talk about SEX on this thread then!!!
I dislike AF as well. How about NB (Nasty Bitch)???!!!

Lionstar · 28/09/2008 09:31

Hi all, been a while since I checked in, have been on holiday somewhere sunny for 2 weeks. Good to hear of those BFPs, can I add one to the mix? Tested this morning and just got the faintest line

The really odd thing is my last period was 17th August. Then when it came to ovulation I had far less symptoms than usual, was convinced it probably didn't happen. Took a First Response test before leaving for holiday in desperate hope (about 12 days after possible ov) but BFN. At earlest day AF was due used the freebie test - again BFN. 5 days later still no AF and would have been about the longest cycle ever, so bought another test on holiday (DP moaning how expensive it was) and still BFN!! Was starting to put a dampner on the holiday because I was being obsessive about symptoms, but expecting AF any second after all those BFNs.

Anyway AF didn't arrive, we got back yesterday and this morning I dug out an old el cheapo pound shop test, and as I said it is a very faint BFP. Thats on day 43 since last AF started. So no idea why it took so long to show, maybe I ovulated much later in the cycle than usual, thank goodness we (in pre holiday gladness) kept up the SEX! So am now left feeling a bit stunned. Don't think it has sunk in for DP yet either, though I think he's glad we managed it in advance of Xmas so he can get back on the wagon again . Can't be exact on the dates, but will be due around end of May - my favourite time of year!

Sorry for writing the whole saga out here, but has been very theraputic, think I have been feeling a bit frustrated recently. But it's living proof to those new member that TTC over 35 does work, we've had quite a few graduates after all. And for those that remain I'm certain your time will come, and will be all the more sweet for the wait. I have my fingers crossed for you all (and I'll still check back in here to see you all graduate)

DarrellRivers · 28/09/2008 10:10

Congratulations lionstar, you must have ovulated much later than you thought
All the best to you
