After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Hi Sunnydale, Just wanted to acknowledge your post. I am TTC again after a MMC at 12 wks and I certainly wouldn't judge you. Keep your chin up!

spats · 28/10/2008 08:03

ladylush just re read this page and realised i said congrats whilst you think you were spotting, i must have missed that 1. Just focused on the BFP. Sorry. hope everything is OK today, sure it will be. x

ladylush · 28/10/2008 08:51

Thanks Spats. I have a dr appt today so will try to arrange a scan for 2-3 weeks time.

scorpio1 · 29/10/2008 18:38

How are you today LL?

ladylush · 29/10/2008 20:56

Ok Scorpio thanks. No spotting today

spats · 03/11/2008 16:32

anyone still on this thread? hows it all going?

ClaireDeLoon · 03/11/2008 16:37

I'm still here! Cycle 14, ttc no. 1, CD 19. Had tiny amount of spotting Sat and Sun. Not sure if that means period due early - am meant to be going for my CD21 tests (but will actually go CD22 as due at fracture clinic on Thursday anyway). So I'm hoping period isn't so early I can't get that done.

How about you spats?

spats · 04/11/2008 14:58

cd24 but due to late ov not sure when af due. i usually have 28 day cycle which means would have been this weekend. unless i have short lp (which i hope not and must admit am panicking about) it should be due around tues/wed. just keeping busy for next few days. xx

LemonyAle · 07/11/2008 19:47

waves

May I join this thread? I'm 36 and TTC#1. This is officially our 11th month of TTC but (ahem) 'activity' has been a bit sporadic in 2008 due to work and money stresses. Trying really hard to step it up (as it were) and just started testing for ovulation.

Spats - I'm worried I've got a short lp too - I've been POAS since cd7, now on cd15 and no sign of O yet. Cycle usually 28-30 days.

Feeling a bit depressed about it all this evening tbh!

Issy42 · 08/11/2008 19:18

Mind if I join you?

I'm 37 and ttc#1 through donor insemination as am single, worried that I don't have time to meet the right man and not willing to get pregnant by the wrong man.

Have had 7 attempts at IUI since February, first 5 natural and last 2 with clomid. 1st ended in mc at just under 5 weeks and nurse thinks I had another (very) early mc last month.

Currently on cd 14 in the dreaded 2ww (3 dpo) and am trying to find the balance between staying positive and hopeful and not wanting to get my hopes dashed. Also trying really hard not to test early this time (as don't want to go through the -ive, +ive, -ive I had last cycle).

Good luck everyone!

ClaireDeLoon · 08/11/2008 21:18

Welcome and good luck Lemony and Issy! We're all pretty similar, I'm ttc No 1 too and I'm 36. Issy very sorry to read your mc. It's a horrible thing to go through.

JClaire · 10/11/2008 17:48

hi Claire, Lemony and Issy, really encouraging to hear that not the only one ttc #1 and it taking forever! Like you Lemony, our activity has been sporadic over the last 11 months. Hopefully one day (soon!!) we will get it together so to speak and end up with a bfp! Gets hard all this waiting though especially as in our group at work of around 40 we have had 7 babies this year all between September to the end of this month so everyone must have been ttc at the same time as we started and I know for some they got pregnant the first month.

LemonyAle · 10/11/2008 18:01

Thanks for the welcome ClaireDeLoon and JClaire

Issy, so sorry to hear about your mcs - really hope the IUI works for you again soon. Keep us posted.

JClaire - know what you mean about it seeming like everyone around you is getting pregnant and having babies - my BF had a little girl in May, swiftly followed by a boy for my cousin, and other BF and my sister are both expecting for Feb/March... At least I'll have lots of people to ask for new mum advice if and when it happens for me!

Am confused by the results I'm getting from the OPKs I've been doing, but think I'll start a new thread on that.

Good luck everyone!

spats · 10/11/2008 18:23

lost track of where everyone is in their cycle, anyone testing soon so we can get some bpf on this thread? AF is due soon for me but not sure when due to late ovulation but had bit of brown streak when went to toilet (TMI sorry!) so i guess tom she will arrive. aarrrggghhhh xx

ladylush · 10/11/2008 18:50

Cote - forgot to say congrats on your pregnancy We were on the same ttc thread before (temping I think).

LemonyAle · 10/11/2008 19:23

Hi Spats, I'm on cd18 & should be dtd in the next 24 hours if the OPK is anything to go by, but I've got f*ing cystitis

Issy42 · 10/11/2008 23:19

Thanks for the welcome and thoughts Claires and Lemony. Hope the cystitis clears quickly.

JClaire - it must be really hard for you around all those pregnancies. Loads of old friends have caught up with me on facebook recently and they've all had babies since they friended me - and there have been 3 pregnancies in my department this year. Last week, I had to take over work from one going at Christmas when I should have started my maternity leave a week or so ago. Pregnant women are everywhere! Happy for them but just want my turn too.

Spats - could be implantation?

Babydust to all for BFPs this cycle.

spats · 11/11/2008 08:22

lemony how really ANNOYING. That is my worst fear that one of us is sick during the ovulation bit, especially as this is the season of cough , colds, sickbugs etc. I do feel for you really i do. Can you try at all or really too bad? hugs x

LemonyAle · 11/11/2008 23:31

Thanks Spats & Issy for your kind words and condolences re cystitis - it's a bit better today but my poor fanjo is stinging rather. So no dtd for me tonight

Took a 'sample' (ahem) to the quack today, only to be told that, erm, "it's clearing up and [I'm lucky] it wasn't worse". So I said thank god, I hate ABs and prob wouldn't have taken them anyway

I also said to GP, "seriously, I'm 36 & I'm really panicking now about everything" - to which GP (aptly named Dr Grimm) replied "Give DH a kick"

Yeah, like going "FUCK ME!!! JUST FUCK ME!!! KICK" is really going to work...

Sorry ladies but I just feel desperate & helpless this evening

LemonyAle · 11/11/2008 23:55

And - OMG, that was TMI

Sorry again ladies

Issy42 · 12/11/2008 00:34

Lemony that must be so frustrating for you. Maybe you could try the turkey baster approach if you're too sore for bd-ing .

Nothing's TMI on these threads and at least you can inject some humour even when you're feeling so low.

Hope you feel better soon.

LemonyAle · 12/11/2008 03:26

Issy, thanks so much - god, if we can't laugh now when can we?

sore of fanjo but pure of heart

xxx

ClaireDeLoon · 12/11/2008 07:31

Oh fgs at your doctor!! And ouch and re your cystitis.

Do you have any other doctors at the practice you can see? If you've been trying 11 months they should have referred you for the initial blood tests now that you have to have done before you get to see the fertility clinic. If you are over 35 and have been trying 6 months they will start the process (12 months if you're under 35).

spats · 12/11/2008 19:18

lemony you are funny - fanjo , that really made me laugh. You will chear us all up. I am 35 next month so i may go to dr and say i ave been trying 6 months (really this will be the 5th) and see if he will do blood work. I conceived other 2 ds first time so am worried my eggs are not ok anymore. What are the initial blood tests, are they the day1 and 21 progesterone? x

ClaireDeLoon · 12/11/2008 20:16

yeah day 2 is FSH and LH and day 21 I think is progesterone - checks if you have ov'd.
