OP posts:
Natty1806 · 01/01/2007 15:26

ummm weight 8.9 ½ stone and am 5'1 so need to lose about 9 ½ pounds to be happy but would love to be 7.10 stone.

Not sure how this week will go but will try my best to not eat too much. Slimming world starts next monday so dieting really starts from next Tuesday.

Good luck everyone.

Ouch, worse than I thought - 10 stone 10lb for 5'5". Would like to be 9 stone 10lb or less. Oh well, I've finished the Xmas cake...

anewme · 01/01/2007 21:15

i lost three stone with weight watchers over 18 months (13 stone 13 lbs to 11st 1lb)for my wedding and really got into running but feel as though i've put a lot of it (at least half) back on. At my last weight in I was 11st 12lbs. I am 5ft 8.

Going to NY at Easter and that is gonna be my next blow out. Plus, i want to be able to jog around central park and enjoy it, not feel as though i'm gonna spit up my lung.I'm going for a run tomorrow and really am determined to get back into shape.

Will get weighed too and will post my weight. if i am more than 12st 7lb will be gutted. However, i can really feel it..so i wouldn't be surprised.Let battle commence...

babylove123 · 01/01/2007 21:23

Wow Natty, i'd love to be your weight as it is!!!!!!!! Im 5'2 and there is no way im posting my weight on here. I thought you lot said u were over-weight!!!!

Ready · 02/01/2007 13:07

Roskva I am exactly the same as you!! 10.10 at 5.5 (although I am technically 5.5&1/2 !) - Christmas excesses have clearly been naughtier than I thought... Ideally I would like to be 9.10 too (my weight this time last year!! but I had been poorly) so a full stone to lose.

What are we aiming for 2-3lbs a week. Don't want to go too drastic and pile it all back on???

I use the weightwatchers points system, but don't go to the meetings, so don't have the benefit of someone weighing me each week.

By the way Natty - your weight sounds good already!!!

Ready · 02/01/2007 13:08

Babylove, of course you don't have to post your weight... but it's anonymous and we wouldn't judge you!! None of us are looking our very best at the moment

decorativeD2Bmum · 02/01/2007 13:38

hiya girls

well may aswell post mine

11st 2 pounds ( i have not put on a single pound over xmas wahooo!) and i am 5ft8

would love to be 9 and a half again so fingers crossed!!

xx

babylove123 · 02/01/2007 14:18

yeh but u dont understand.......im massive compared to you lot! You're like my skinny idols! Didnt think being a size 18 was so massive

Got to be honest, although my weight is so heavy, doc said its high because i do have a lot of muscle (underneath the fat, lol) so ideally altho im 5'2, i shld be around 12 stone.

Well I reckon with the support of each other, we will lost weight!!! Did you want to post what you have eaten?? I know we did that on another post, it made me think about what I ate cos I knew I would have to be honest with you girls!!

So far today:

Breakfast: CrunchyNutCornflakes & Skimmed Milk, and a cup of tea (milk & 2sugars!) I only realised after I had eaten them that there are peanuts in CNC - they are just throwing themselves at me those bloody peanuts!!
Lunch: Tuna sandwich, 1 sad little oreo cookie (as a treat - normally would have polished off 4-5!!) and a pineapple yoghurt. Cranberry & Orange juice
Been drinking plenty of water too [angelic face]

For tea, gonna make sweet & sour chicken and rice (from scratch - so no additives or anything, all fresh ingredients!)

decorativeD2Bmum · 02/01/2007 16:03

ready how do you make our sweet and sour sauce - i love sweet and sour but can only ever eat it from the chinese as the jar sauces you buy just arnt the same!

Ready · 02/01/2007 16:52

Decorative... Here's the recipe I use.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion (I prefer red but I don't think it matters)
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 bell pepper (recipe calls for green, but I use red)
400g tin of chopped tomotoes
4 tablespoons soft brown sugar
1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs
220g tin of pineapple chunks in fruit juice
1 tablespoon cornflour
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
salt and pepper

(I also put in sliced water chestnuts and thinly sliced carrots - but they are not in the actual recipe - just an embellishment from me)

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion, garlic and green pepper (I add my carrots and chestnuts here). Cook gently for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft, but not brown.
  2. Stir in tomatoes, sugar, herbs and 85ml of water. Drain the pineapple juice into the pan. Blend the cornflour with the vinegar and soy sauce and stir into the pan.
  3. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously (yeah right!) until the sauce comes to the boil and thickens. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
  4. Season to taste and stir in the pineapple chunks. Heat through before serving.

thanks ready for that

dp makes his own sweet and sour sauce but thats just like a dipping sauce it would be too over powering for a meal.

il try the recipe out this week minus the pineapple and yellow pep instead of red.

il let you know how it goes. xx

That extra 1/2 inch makes all the difference, Ready!

here's my food record of the day:
cup of tea with milk no sugar
bowl of fruit muesli with milk
more tea
one probiotic yoghurty thing
more tea (feeling virtuous no biscuits and no chocolate!)
red pepper and ham omelette
organic lemon squash
more tea
then cracked and polished off the peanuts
yet more tea
one orange
For supper: venison stew (venison, onion, carrots, mushrooms, tin of tomatoes plus some red wine) with mashed spuds

plus I walked the dog and then I walked to the shops, which meant carrying the groceries home, so that is my weight training for the day. Oh, and I do drink water from time to time

RoskvaTheRedNosedReindeer · 03/01/2007 21:30

Anyone out there?

babylove123 · 03/01/2007 22:02

I'm watching the thread. Everyone must be making all their healthy food!

Ready · 04/01/2007 11:02

Yesterdays food intake:

Breakfast: Oat hoops and skimmed milk. Cup of tea (2sugars - it is my vice, I cannot enjoy tea without sugar!!)

Lunch: Chicken and Grated carrot Roll, celery sticks, pineapple yoghurt and another cup of tea.

Tea: Pasta bolognaise (again from scratch, plenty of mushrooms!!) Cranberry & Orange Juice.

Before bed: Ovaltine and 2 digestives.

I went to bed utterly famished too!! Which is always a good sign for the flab!!

This morning I have oathoops and a cup of tea. Already hungry but drinking plenty of water!

How's everyone getting on??

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 04/01/2007 12:42

lapsed yesterday and had 2 choc cookies. Apart from that, ate reasonably healthily. I'm absolutely starving at the moment, and am going out for lunch, but I am determined to be good!

Dd has started waking at 4am , which is dire, because if I am awake at 4am, I am invariably hungry.

babylove123 · 04/01/2007 13:32

Well done ready, you're doing well!!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 05/01/2007 19:51

Well, I'm on line to keep my hands busy so I can't eat while I wait for dinner to cook - lamb steaks in the oven in tomato with sweet potatoes, carrots and celery. I am SO hungry!

babylove123 · 05/01/2007 22:42

Sounds nice without the lamb (vege)!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 06/01/2007 10:45

I did it without the lamb once, used butternut squash instead - dh was half way through before he noticed the meat was missing!

I've finally realised just how much I was eating between meals. I'm not anymore, and I think that is why I'm hungry all the time.

fleacircus · 07/01/2007 10:51

Count me in too - height 5' 11", BMI 25.4 so officially overweight (not putting my weight here, can't bring myself to write it down ) - www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/magazine/interactive/bmi/index.aspx, if anyone else wants to check theirs. I wasn't planning to diet though, just exercise more, in case dieting screws up my fertility, am I worrying unnecessarily? I eat very healthily really, lots and lots of veg, but too much of everything.

About to go running with superfit and gung-ho friend, which is certain to be a truly humiliating experience.
