Couldn't stand a Fred with only a couple of posts left so I filled it up!

Here is the 13th installation of the Just Shagging saga. If you're a bit lazy relaxed in your approach to getting upduffed, come over here for a natter!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Brew and Wine with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband Shock Wink

Happy shagging shaggers Grin

Oh to be 30 again! Smile

MotherOfCleo · 04/01/2013 11:19

Mines on the 15th! Smile When's yours? I'm not married or engaged yet do have a mortgage and a puppy though so it would be nice to have achieved something monumental by my 30th.

Elektra83 · 04/01/2013 11:22

Oh bless! Mine's on the 12th Smile

Have the marriage and the mortgage too, no puppy but we have a tendency to "borrow" the neighbour's cat....she just likes to come into our house whenever she likes (we don't discourage her tbh!)

AQuarkTooFar · 04/01/2013 11:58

Cookie if you sign up to a pinterest account you can create on line pin boards. So if you see something you like on a website you can "pin it" to your pinboard and any time you click on that picture it will link you back to that website. You can also see what other people have pinned and you can re-pin that to your boards. You can follow people and you can let people follw you. It is a great place for getting ideas on loads of stuff. They have now brought in "secret boards" too so your followers can't see them. Great when you want to pin baby stuff and your friends don't know you are trying!

We lived with PIL for over a month earlier this year while our house had works done. Didn't JS once as their bedroom was right opposite ours and just couldn't do it! We rushed back to living in our house asap and lived there a few days without heating. We also lived off microwave meals for a week as we had no elec in the kitchen but were able to plug a microwave and fridge in in the hall! Never been so glad to get back to my own bed!

have fun wedding dress shopping Tuddles. I got married a year and a half ago and I wish I could do that again. Got the second dress I tried on and never tried on any massive princess dresses. Wish I had for the fun of it now! Grin

LotsaTuddles · 04/01/2013 15:05

Our walls are very thick and bedrooms on opposite sides of house, I keep making DP (I don't know the acronym for fiancé) tighten the bed incase it starts squeaking. He may kill me next time I ask him to do it though.

May try on loads of the massive dresses for the fun of it though, but I do want a nice simple one maybe like this one

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 04/01/2013 15:29

Reassured that I'm not missing a trick with a special JS-ing diet. Phew. No smoking is going okay - although ERTD arrived today, so the PMT rage is making it harder.

I canNOT JS in 'rentals houses. Grim. Too too too grim. Somehow (weirdly) grimmer now we're married than before we were as well - is that strange? In my mum's house, we're NEXT to her bedroom, with thin walls, and she is insomniac, at MIL's, we're across the hall from the other rooms, but TWIN BEDS. Yeah. We did it on the floor once. Only once. I'd rather book into a hotel.

Elektra83 · 04/01/2013 15:54

Tuddles I loved my dress for the civil ceremony and was wayyyyy over my budget, it was just beautiful, was the first dress I saw, the first one I tried on and I just knew. I did try others on, but they were never going to beat the one I loved!

When we went shopping for my Indian wedding outfit, that was sooo much harder! I couldn't decide, I never had the "that's the one" feeling like with my civil outfit. In the end I picked a beautiful one, mostly because hubby said it was beautiful (I was worried about the cost, didn't have my mum with me so hubby was the only person around whose opinion I could get!). He was right, everytime I showed my mum/make up artist/henna artist I would get the feeling that it was the right dress for me.

It was stunning, I want to wear it again...except it weighs a ton (I really do need to weigh it!).

Bearface · 04/01/2013 17:33

Ha ha - we have twin beds at my PILs' Humpty but we were both saying just the other day how we quite like it for a night or two - we both get a decent night's sleep! In our own bed we often wrestle for the duvet and space despite it being a Kingsize (DH doesn't fit on a smaller one lengthways). I usually end up sleeping on the edge with a corner of the duvet, while DH sprawls everywhere. He is a big man, but it is beyond the joke sometimes as he seems to like sleeping diagonally across the bed. Once he woke up at the other end with his head by feet! No idea how that happened.

Also, I know some people do it on the floor and we have before, but it's just so uncomfortable - I love the bed and would choose it any day. Grin

LotsaTuddles · 04/01/2013 17:50

Ok, so I walked all the way to town and the damn shop was shut.

ERTD still hasn't appeared shall POAS in the morning if it still hasn't turned up, or am I going to be doing it too early?

Bearface · 04/01/2013 17:53

What CD are you on Tuddles? I think the earliest might be around CD12 but most people don't get a BFP until at least a day or so before AF. (Stresses, I think! Not wholly sure myself.)

AndieDisestablishment · 04/01/2013 17:55

Bear DP and I are on the verge of getting twin beds at home. We're both small but love loads of space and I'm a duvet hog. DP is actually getting quite used to sleeping uncovered now.lol

Stayed at PILs before Christmas and managed to DTD, it felt a bit naughty, like being a teenager again.lol

Hooya me, I'm symptom spotting. DP said "You wanna test don't you?.... Well, you're not!" He hates it when I'm disappointed bless him.

thethreeblondies · 04/01/2013 18:25

hi lovely ladies, I'm back! (it's livismum with a shiny new name for the new year) although not sure about it so feel free to suggest a new one Grin
2012 was rubbish for me (mmc and erpc in June, mc at 6weeks in Nov) so I'm really hoping 2013 is kinder to me, normal af turned up in Dec (although took 5 weeks) and I well and truly donned my shag cape over Christmas! so currently cd23 but trying not to count the days minutes
hi to newbies (although not so new it's just me going awol!)

thethreeblondies · 04/01/2013 18:32

oh yeah, on the separate bed thing, we ended up in the same bed but with separate duvets when in a caravan on Oct! It was amazing, we should go on dragon's den with it as a concept (basically a pack of 2 duvets!)

could someone add to me list please (new phone and part of reason for awolness)

name: thethreeblondies

cookielove · 04/01/2013 19:01

Tuddles - how did the wedding dress shopping go!!

Thanks Aquark i seem to already be hooked Blush

Bearface · 04/01/2013 19:05

Hello Livismum - - hope you had a nice Christmas and NY. Well done on donning the cape ! Glad to hear things are getting a bit more back to normal for you TTC-wise. I like your new name - will use it next time.

Here we go: threeblondies - I'm only on CD15 and I'm chomping at the bit to test already, but there's no point as only ov'd in the last day or so according to banned OPKs symptoms. Nevermind - got a blood test to keep me busy and my burfday next week (34-yikes!).

As for the beds thing - on the one hand, yes, bring on the twin beds! No more bruises from DH bashing into me in the night. On the other, I would miss morning cuddles though. Oh well, can't afford a new one anyway, so what am I wiffling on about.

I've been cruising the other sections of MN and found myself looking at baby names I know, it's just as bad as the pram thing and pinterest, but I do like the idea of a secret pinterest board . . .

LotsaTuddles · 04/01/2013 19:23

The dress shop was unexpectedly shut Sad

Bear, you just said a lot of things that I didn't even slightly understand (Sorry, bit of a ditz atm)

Bearface · 04/01/2013 19:38

Oh no Tuddles - that's rubbish. Hope you took yourself off to do something nice as a bit of compensation.

Trying to guess which bits you aren't sure of so here goes:

'donning the cape'= the metaphorical shag cape that we all wear when we are shagging. Not sure why it's a cape - maybe because we're doing magic or something?!

'CD15' = cycle day 15 (days since the first day of my last period)

'chomping at the bit' = desperate to test/POAS

'banned OPKs' = banned ovulation predictor kits because it's just shagging!

= metaphorically slapping onesself in the face because you have been doing something you shouldn't.

Is that okay? Sorry if you knew some of this already. You're not a ditz - it takes a while to catch on with the lingo. I still haven't got some of it! Smile

cookielove · 04/01/2013 19:48

Tuddles Sad thats rubbish that the shop was closed!! Did you book an appointment?

LotsaTuddles · 04/01/2013 20:03

Thanks Bear, yeah, CD day was confusing me and what's AF?

Well, I was due on today, so that's CD day 1 right?

MelodyHarmony · 04/01/2013 20:27

Hi threeblondies I don't think we've met.

The bed thing... Never JS-ed in a relative's house, just couldn't. Went from years of a double bed to a king size with memory foam mattress last summer and now I never want to shag sleep on anything else. Love it

Tuddles AF is Aunt Flo, your period. Or ERTD, evil red tide if doom.
And, no, you're not on CD 1 until the day AF/ERTD/period actually arrives. So when you're pregnant you never get back to CD 1 again until you have a period after baby is born! If AF is late you get to CD 28, 29, 30 etc. some people choose to wait til a certain day after normal cycle length before testing.

DPO is days past ovulation so if you've used the contraband OPKs you'd be able to pinpoint that more accurately.

Sorry if I've repeated anything anyone else had already explained of stuff you already know.

MelodyHarmony · 04/01/2013 20:33

Bearface HOOYA for you looking at baby names. You're as bad as me with the double buggy window shopping. I daren't go anywhere near Pinterest. I'd never leave the house!

Andie HOOYA to you as well. Thou shalt not symptom spot on this thread. (Tell me that in two weeks' time!).

LotsaTuddles · 04/01/2013 21:04

ok then, I'm on CD 27, but, it never gets that high.

Thank you Melody, you've explained it so well and now I completely understand Grin

I haven't used the OV sticks

MelodyHarmony · 04/01/2013 21:46

Glad to be of service Tuddles. I personally wouldn't bother with OPKs or taking your temp/charting. Been there, done that. I am lucky to have good CM (cervical mucus) so OPKs and temping didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. But some people don't have the physical signs of ov so these methods are useful to confirm whether ov is actually happening.

How long have you been TTC? If you're still in the early months, just carry on shagging (JS = just shagging) and don't worry about all that paraphernalia. Anyway, it's not allowed on this thread Wink

MelodyHarmony · 04/01/2013 21:48

Also if you're past your usual cycle length it could be a good time to POAS (pee on a stick, test)

cookielove · 04/01/2013 22:38

Agree with Melody tuddles needs to POAS Smile
