Donne thy robes and come join the hagges round a crackling fire made of ye olde pee sticks, as we run around nekkid, high on snorted baybeedust, and do our straynge erotick rituals on the altar of ye inconstant moon.

Come one, come all as we cast spelles and do any Magick we can finde on our queste for an elusive win.

Bring thy gynne for yon cauldron and help thyself to a laddle, as we prepare the incantationnes...

Oooh Hong Kong for sure. I almost ended up with a job there a few years ago but I didn't pursue it in the end. I have a few friends who live over there and it is a fab place, although for me, something you would do for a little while not long term. I think the expat community gets a bit claustrophobic after a while and i can imagine DUbai being yhe same.

Boo, you can have Wolf Hall after me if you like although it is taking me ages to read which is unusual for me. (kat, it is historical novel by Hilary Mantel, about Henry the Viii from Thomas Cromwells POV)

HighPriestessBoo · 14/02/2011 23:31

Ooh Ta FlamingBroccolli. Isn't it a massive tome?

That Clock Tower thingy is called The Belfry I think Rie. Have you seen 'In Bruges' too?

AuntieDoris · 15/02/2011 05:24

Oo HK is amazing. currently sitting at Schipol Airport on our way back home from a trip out there. About 24 hours without proper sleep now and I am absolutely hanging. It's not a pretty sight! If you want to see some pics of the trip then have a look at my blog

Truly amazing city though. Would definitely take the chance to live there for a bit if it came up!

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 07:34

Oh! Dor!

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 08:29

Muser and Kate are laying! Any best on who will win the race?

LaraMi · 15/02/2011 09:14

Morning' All...!

We had a row last night - great way to spend a valentines day... (not that we were celebrating). Got two happy valentines texts from very handsome friends though.. (Perfectly innocent I might add - don't think I'm a slag!!!)

Giving up on the sticks.. absolutely nothing is happening. Last night I thought my period might arrive but no such luck..

Fab thing is that my neighbour might buy the car - woo hoo! Will HAVE to charge her handsomely for delivery though Wink

Sunshine - choose Dubai... Been there a zillion times (and we nearly moved out there). It's bold, brash, can be tacky but for a relatively short stint, it's a great place to be. And you can totally avoid all the naff stuff if you want to... Am actually doing a lot of work out there at the mo.

Just eaten a whole pack of blackberries - not the best way to start the morning. They were just THERE!

owlbooty · 15/02/2011 09:46

Muser is laying???? OMG queue jump action!!111!!!

Rie that is all the suck ever. Let me replenish your hot water bottle and punch the droid in his metal arse.

I luff HK and would move there tomorrow (but only for about 6 months as it would probably do my head in after that).

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 10:38

I think the secret to living jn HK is to not live in Central. It might do for a bit but if i had been going there for longer than a year I would have found somewhere on one of the other islands. My friend lived on Peng Chau. It was ace, mostly Chinese living there but a fair few expats, no cars (except the minaturist firetruck you have ever seen) and no more than 2 story houses. So completely unlike central but only a 25 min ferry ride.

Sorry to hear about the rust fucker giving you gyp rie have some gin soaked lemon cake (whadaya mean it's too early?)

boo it's 650 long and I am on 450ish, entirely feasible for me to finish by next week if I neglect all house work put in a bit of effort.

LaraMi · 15/02/2011 10:43

Rocket - you make me want to go to HK NOW - Peng Chau sounds fab

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 10:51

Seriously it is brilliant. Like something off Enter the Dragon . And the (few) police drive golf carts. I am really lucky that I went so many times with work and often over a weekend so went to stay with her a few times. Have to say I wouldn't recommend the commuter ferry with a hangover tho :s

AlpinePony · 15/02/2011 11:58

I never got a line with an OPK and after spending 30 euros the first month, I decided I'd try and rely on sperm instead. Lots of it. But, here I am and I'm wondering about the CBFM - but isn't that one of those things where you have to wake up the same time every morning for? No problem really, am happy to get up at 6am between now and all eternity. However, what to do when Bear wakes me up at 3am? 4am? etc. Confused Boo What do you think? Is CBFM aimed at first-timers only?

kat I, who have been around, used to live not far from there. Obv. clocktower, chocolates, canals, beer, etc. You could always take a quick train trip in to Gent which is also worth a poke around and is another medieval city but a little more lively than Brugge. Remember, Brugge is a Flemish speaking town, so just use English - don't try and use French, you'll look like a cunt.

boo PLs to send me cake?

Aries fancies Kevin Webster? Shock

sunshine I'd go to Honkers, Dubai would be too scary for me in that local laws are a bit "throw you in prison first, worry about the legalities later" - and as I always seem to be sort of on the wrong side of the law would not bode well for me. Old school friend is in HK and it looks fun. I've been an "expat" now full-time for 12 years and aside from the first 9 months I've lived outside the expat ghettos and it's been fine. English-speaking friends can be nice, but at the same time some are real arseholes and think they're really fucking special and it's all a bit "sweetie, I know your husband is a big hotshot temporarily on your expat contract - but I know really that you're just a shopgirl from 'ull".

Am sat in mcdonalds with wi-fi, woman just sat next to me with newborn OMGtwinz who look about 5-6lbs in weight. My ovaries have just popped.

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 12:02

Kevin Webster? What? Confused

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 12:03

Colin Farrell doesn't look remotely like Kevin Webster. Get thyself to Specsavers.

AlpinePony · 15/02/2011 12:09

Did I say he did? What drew you to the conclusion that I meant Colin = Kevin. 'Tis a well known fact anyway. Back when ar Kev was getting bummed across Hollywood by Spacey his "people" told him to never, ever grow a moustache and the media was kindly asked not to draw parallels. But if Kev's yer man Aries I'm not going to criticise.

AlpinePony · 15/02/2011 12:09

Oh and check yer fb mail wench.

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 12:31

WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT YOU MAD CAH???????????

Am I thinking of the wrong Kevin Webster? Him from Corrie?

AlpinePony · 15/02/2011 12:34

Yes, him from Corrie. Aries fancies him from Corrie. At least you don't fancy Curly. That'd be worse.

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 12:38

Well at least I don't fancy Rowland from Grange Hill.

AlpinePony · 15/02/2011 12:41

He was only trying to help youuuuuu.

We watched the entire G&S first series last night in lieu of having cable telly. We've actually upgraded the telly since we bought it and now have a proper flatscreen rather than a geriatric CRT. Anyways Dor, we noticed for the first time at Stacey's hen-do, the stripper squirts cream on his cock and in the next scene Nessa had cream on her chops. Didn't notice that before! Grin Fucking excellent show!

HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 13:25

Am wetting myself (figuratively Rie :o).

Alps you thought there'd be some cake left? They were in pots. Gone in 60 seconds. Soz.
Dunno about CBFM - most of the reviews on Amazon seem to be first timers, but maybe the second timers are too bushed to bother. Maybe arsk the question in separate fred to other mumsnetters :o

I am Envy at all your travelling with work talk. Why do I do 'worthy' public sector jobs (which is about to end)? Why izz I not a bizzniz type person? Pah.

owlbooty · 15/02/2011 14:03

I thought the CBFM was fine to use as it does give quite a large window of POAS action. I think it's 6 hours? Ergo if you wake up at horrendous o'clock you can just POAS right then should you so wish. Or you can set it for a different time of day altogether. I think I set it for 9am as the mid-point so it worked from 6am - midday.

Booboobidoo I work in public sector too only better funded bit, thank feck. Is absolutely shit how they are just shutting things down L, R and centre, there's a few people in my family who are likely to be out of work because of it not to mention some of the charities I do random stuff for ending up in the shite. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

There is cake? Where is the cake, hmm? HMM?

HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 14:05

Dor I likes your blog. HK looked brill.

I sooo KWYM with regard to the fallingoverchristians and being 'over' all that. Many moons ago I used to eb surrounded by all that shizz. I find it all a bit much when I encounter it these days.

Ariesgirl · 15/02/2011 14:20

I might get a CBFM off Ebay. I'm fed up of taking wild stabs in the dark. And I'm not talking about his technique.

Actually I'm not as random as all that - I do use the cigar method Grin

HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 14:21

'Twas Valentines M&Scake Bootylicious. Aaaalll gone.

I might get to keep my job. I just don't bloody know! I am v employable as have loads of experience in all sorts of areas - and when they make the decision on our jobs I'll go onto the priority redeployment scheme if they decide to ditch me. At the moment there are jobs available which have been frozen until the moment they make the decisions.

What makes me double Angry is that they said we would know at the end of January. Then they changed it to mid Feb. Now they are saying beginning of March. Fuckers.

HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 14:23

X-posts Rie. I think that would be brill. My mate got pregnant on day 5 of her cycle. So it's all a bit frigging random innit?
