Lara I got better results on the Evil Sticks when I used them at about 6pm. Then I gave up on the feckers and bought an Evil Shag Dictator (aka Clearblue fertility whatsit). That seemed to do the trick but then again it could have been the grapefruit juice, magic special lubricant, pumpkin seeds, standing on head after Teh Sechs, voodoo magic, etc etc.

It did at least stop me breaking Mr Boots on a monthly basis. He is ancient old codger and cannot shag every day for 3 weeks etc. Bits start falling off.

I know some people managed to get positive tests with OPKs but I didn't despite some days POAOPKing six times , I was convinced that I must therefore never be ovulating but it turns out I was, so I would certainly never use them as a contraceptive!

I found the Fertility Friend website useful, not that I managed to take my temperature very often but in terms of keeping an eye on all your body's signs especially the [ahem] stringier snotty ones.

I also made the foot dragging husband take multi-vitamins and zinc but am convinced that what finally brought the win was thinking rude thoughts about Daniel Craig 24 hours a day

Yes - Mr Lara is dosed up on vitamins of all description.. In fact, based on the sheer number of nutrients I am forcing down him, he technically has no biological / physiological need to actually ever eat

Hello BESHies, How is V-day going? I am loving the chocs but a ttcfest weekend has rendered me incapable of any further funsechs. I have a handy supply of canesten products instead :( ttc literally a PITA.

I'm also ditching sticks for a bit. I found that they were making me wake up too early as I was anxious about peeing on them and what they would say. Being tired due to losing an hours sleep is a bit rubbish.

I watched a lot of Tudors at the weekend as I like thinking rude thoughts about Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Perhaps that will do the trick for me this month?

It's just that they dont work for everyone lara Like I said, I only ever got a faint line which according to the instructions should have been ignored (but i took it as my peak which temping backed up). Some people don't get a line at all. Its not as straightforward are an HCG prego test unfortunately. so if you;ve been doing them a while and got no results then I'd save your money. Although might be worth a month testing as soon as you get in from work (or mid avo if you dont mind doing it at work) just to see if that helps.

BTW I applaud your decision to get rid of the car. It does sound like you don't really need it and the money can be squirreled away for better purposed (hopefully spending on your baybee )

The Tudors is SO RUDE! It does crack me up how an apparently healthy, fit young man (JRM) has such terrible, stinking, repulsive ulcers on his leg and is ailing so badly that his idiotic young wife goes and shags someone else and gets all her kit off for the umpteenth time. And he has a daughter the age of Princess Mary. Someone didn't think that casting decision through. They didn't even give him some padding, some jowls and a ginger beard FFS!

And a massive gripe of mine in Series Two was that Anne Boleyn had blue eyes. ALL WRONG.

I'm glad they didn't give him a ginger beard! Now the 4th series has started they have made him look a bit older, also the Duke of Suffolk looks old. I started watching it and thought "hang on a minute, I'm sure I used to watch this for eye candy!!" So I got season 1 and 2 dvds out. mmmm mmmm eye candy indeed!
Yes the showing Tamzin wotsername naked over and over was a bit ridiculous. But watching Henry half dressed or less in the first two series was good. Series 3 had far too much torture and execution for my liking.

I am avoiding this series as I now have them all to watch when I am on mat leave. Also I am reading wolf hall and I suspect it wouldn't hold up to competition. Aries glad to see someone needs to work on their suspension of disbelief as much as I do :)

Lara glad you've decided to get rid of the car. I didn't have one for years, I sold it when me & MS went round the world. I just got another one a few months ago & I already think I need to sell it!!

I love the Tudors, well I love JRM although I have noticed this series he keeps putting this ridiculous accent on. Very strange.

So MS announced tonight that he thinks he might have a chance of a job in either Hong Kong or Dubai........... I am on the whilst I think about it.

I think JRMs accent is him trying to sound old. Not sexy. Watch seasons one or two instead I say. I have cheated and downloaded all of season 4 off tinterweb. Will not spoil it but after they get rid of wifey number 5 the rest of it only has one good bit.

We've talked about it before & I've always said to go for it but now it just seems real. I'd be happy with either. God knows what I'd do for a job though.
