How much has your food shop come to?

I’ve been out this morning. Did my whole shop in Booths, which is rare as it can be over priced… but it was quiet, compared to Aldi down the road! So I paid for less stress.

For 4 of us, 2 adults 2 kids under 13 it has cost me £162 for at least 3 days worth of meals, puddings, snacks and drinks.

I was thinking I’d done quite well!! But not I see it written down 🙈🙈

How are you guys getting on?

That’s not bad for a Booths Christmas! Grin
Ours was just over £200, 3 adults. Doesn’t include Crackers, alcohol etc.

foxgoosefinch · 23/12/2021 12:06

Christmas shop coming today from Sainsbury’s — £155 ish. Plus a free range chicken and buche de Noel which DP is picking up from other shops. (We don’t like turkey so just have a good quality chicken instead.)

Ohmych · 23/12/2021 12:11

We spent £150 in Aldi that included some alcohol but not all we've bought.

ListenLinda · 23/12/2021 12:18

£200, all from sainsburys. Includes booze and boxing day stuff. We only got a small crown too.

SleighbellsZ · 23/12/2021 12:20

£160, alcohol not included.
Coming today and had afew substitutes and gammon is missing 😭 so I now need to go on a gammon hunt

Username916 · 23/12/2021 12:21

Mine was £73 and I wanted to cry when tesco delivered it. Was only two crates! For £73! Looks like absolutely nothing.

GirlOfTudor · 23/12/2021 12:23

£65. 2 adults (and a 6 month old but he won't be eating much of the food 😂). Mainly shopped at Aldi, but also got some bits at Tesco that I couldn't find.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 23/12/2021 12:24

About £200 for a Tesco/M&S combo for Christmas Day for 10, and 5 days’ food for 5 (3 adults, 2 children). Doesn’t include booze or cheese, and I’ve put stuff aside over the past few weeks so actual cost higher.

Littlewhiteballs · 23/12/2021 12:25

£115 from Asda but paid £55 for it. God bless Marcus Rashford. If I ever see that man in real life I'm going to hug him.

RussianSpy101 · 23/12/2021 12:26

That’s a good one OP! Ours was £178 and we got alcohol separately. We’re hosting so there’s quite a lot of food.

Oblomov21 · 23/12/2021 12:27

£200+ at Sainsburys, Tesco and Aldi.

Bagelsandbrie · 23/12/2021 12:27

I’m embarrassed about ours. There’s 4 of us and I’ve spent about £300 - no alcohol as we are tee total. Basically just a lot of very nice food and treat stuff. I have made a hefty donation to the local food bank as I actually feel quite guilty. Blush

BiteyShark · 23/12/2021 12:27

About £300 but that includes a hamper for the ILs.

foxgoosefinch · 23/12/2021 12:28

I should say that our Sainsbury’s shop includes a fair whack of ordinary stuff like loo roll, domestos, shampoo and so on! But yes, food inflation is massive at the moment.

Shadowboy · 23/12/2021 12:29

5 of us- 3 adults. For 7 days spanning Christmas including booze and all the usual shopping as well as a Christmas shop about £300

RosesAndHellebores · 23/12/2021 12:31

About £300 but that doesn't include wine or other additional spirits. Will last from today until 27th/28th though.

Usual weekly shop for 4 adults is about £160.

Crossfitwidow · 23/12/2021 12:32

£100 but I had a gastric sleeve in October so I hardly eat now. It’s mainly food for kids and hubby Xmas Envy

Cosywosy · 23/12/2021 12:33

£132 in Aldi and £95 in Sainsbury's. We're not even hosting so no turkey or trimmings etc! Bought dinners, a lot of cheese and festive snacks/party food.

It did also include a case of beer, 30 pack of diet coke, wine, coffee pods and some monthly supplies such as kitchen roll, toilet paper and washing powder but it's a lot more than I'd hoped to spend.

GiltEdges · 23/12/2021 12:33

Oh way too much... probably around £350 all in, for 2 adults and 1 DC. I love Booths!

Jumpingintochristmas · 23/12/2021 12:33

Sainsbury’s £270
Butcher £110
Farm shop £35
Cheese £27
M&S £48

In fairness that includes port, gin and baileys plus Christmas dinner/Boxing Day for 7 and some sweets to pop in with gifts.

Inextremis · 23/12/2021 12:34

3 adults - the final shop came to €157 (less €15 in vouchers), but that's not including the alcohol I've been buying for (literally) months, the chocolates, tins of sweets, the turkey (bought weeks back), the ham (just out of the freezer) or various sauces, cheeses and other stuff. I'm not going to add it all up, because it would be alarming! All done now though, DH just gpot home with the final click 'n collect, and now the last minute cooking (mince pies, sausage rolls, palmiers, more gougeres, soda bread etc.) begins. I think I need a bit of a sit down first though, as I've just spent ages trying to find a home for all the food!

Helpstopthepain · 23/12/2021 12:35

£160 in Morrison’s without the veg and turkey which came from the farm shop. 4 of us (2 are teen boys so big appetite). Most of it was cheese, so much cheese.

Manc2 · 23/12/2021 12:35

I spent 110 on ocado, 30 in Sainsburys, 40 in tesco and 30 in Morrison’s. This does include some alcohol and stuff for our dog.

Helpstopthepain · 23/12/2021 12:36

I don’t feel so bad after seeing others totals! Grin I did have 10% discount in Morrison’s which helped.

PlanetNormal · 23/12/2021 12:37

Around £90 for food at M&S plus the local farm shop. That’s for the two of us. DP is going to Majestic for wine later today.
