How much has your food shop come to?

I’ve been out this morning. Did my whole shop in Booths, which is rare as it can be over priced… but it was quiet, compared to Aldi down the road! So I paid for less stress.

For 4 of us, 2 adults 2 kids under 13 it has cost me £162 for at least 3 days worth of meals, puddings, snacks and drinks.

I was thinking I’d done quite well!! But not I see it written down 🙈🙈

How are you guys getting on?

Ours came to £120, myself, DD3 and my brother. I did have a £60 Tesco voucher which i was saving so only ended up paying £60 :)

MsWalterMitty · 23/12/2021 15:51

@frogsbreath

£125, and we're not even making Xmas dinner! And I forgot butter 2 adults and one ds. Already tore into santas mince pies
I think most of my £162 went in mincepies 🤣

@ChoccySprinkles

Nothing! Well technically about £155 but I spent my hard earned nectar points on it. I didn’t even know you could spend nectar points on alcohol. I feel like a smug bitch.
I’d be smug in your position too! 🤣

Marks and Spencer £140
Ocado £90
Tesco £200
Local Patisserie £50

That does include food and drinks for 8 for Xmas Day, assorted breakfasts, and Lunches and Boxing Day lunch.

Essexmummy88 · 23/12/2021 15:59

200ish from tesco, that is for 2 adults and 3 kids (12 3 and 2), this is also for xmas eve, and the few days after. doesnt include alcohol though.

Isthatthebestyoucando · 23/12/2021 16:00

What did Marcus Rashford do to bring peoples shopping down?

Mine was about £75 between Sainsbury's and Lidl for one vegetarian adult and a 9 year old, treat eating most of the week though or it will end up binned. No booze.

I'm looking forward to the show me your fridge thread!

Enko · 23/12/2021 16:01

We take Christmas very seriously with the food. Just spent £300 on food and alcohol tomorrow farm shop for duck turkey cheese and veg that was £200 but already paid for

cjpark · 23/12/2021 16:07

Alot! The Waitrose shop came to £180 - that included a gammon and a large decorated Christmas cake.
I’ve got to go to the butcher tomorrow - £150 for a turkey and rib of beef.
Then veggies from grocer - £20.
Plus booze, probably £400 for 8 on Xmas and 12 on Boxing Day.

Pasithea · 23/12/2021 16:11

Dh spent £130 all on him as I haven’t eaten since my covid jabs.

avocadotofu · 23/12/2021 16:14

Around £250 for 4 from Waitrose.

delilahbucket · 23/12/2021 16:19

Excluding alcohol, £73 in Sainsbury's coming this evening but with £21 of subs that are all going back, £34 in M&S, a few more pounds in another supermarket in the morning trying to replace the rest of the subs, no idea what the meat will cost as it's to be picked up from the butchers tomorrow, £35 at the fishmongers. Prosecco was free with nectar points, £65 on champagne for Christmas and New Year's. Will feed us for six days with a meal out tomorrow.

Hillary17 · 23/12/2021 16:21

About £270 when all added up. Ridiculous really but that’s for 6 of us for Christmas and Boxing Day!

santabetterwashhishands · 23/12/2021 16:23

Spent 90 quid in lidl and will last all week.
None of us drink alcohol

TooWicked · 23/12/2021 16:25

Just picked up the turkey which was £94.

Other meat, pigs in blankets and pork stuffings came to £60.

£400 on a booze shop.

Veg, sauces, dessert, etc tomorrow will probably come to around £150 ish.

lisaandalan · 23/12/2021 16:38

£300. X

TigerKat · 23/12/2021 16:41

We’ve got a couple more bits to get tomorrow but probably around £300 including alcohol and some of normal weekly shop

thetinsoldier · 23/12/2021 16:50

£210 - hosting Xmas for ten, plus the rest of the food we need for our holiday cottage for the week. Will be eating some meals with family.

Booze -£150

Picklesbaby · 23/12/2021 16:51

£120 for Christmas Day food in m&s
£40Asda booze
£60 aldi usual weekly shop
£30 Iceland Boxing Day buffet

Feelinggoodtuesday · 23/12/2021 16:54

Spent £142 at the fishmonger. Turkey is another £75 for the few non pescatarians. We are locked down (our version ) in our country so it’s been one of the more cost effective Christmas hosting I’ve done in years. I’m spending the savings on a new handbag. I am so happy!

BOBBY232 · 23/12/2021 17:05

Hopefully not much of the booze either! 😂

beautifullymad · 23/12/2021 17:13

£230!!! Aaagghh. But it's for a week of a full house with 10 people eating. Our normal would be half this as we are only 5 so it makes sense.

We started family celebrations on Tuesday to finish next Monday evening.

TheFairPrincess · 23/12/2021 17:17

£220. Less by about £100 that I usually spend but no alcohol, I have meal planned carefully to avoid waste, we got Chicken instead of Turkey as we all like it more, we are being hosted Christmas eve and have budgeted separately for New Year's eve. Got most of it from Tesco :)

ToykotoLosAngeles · 23/12/2021 17:17

No idea exactly but maybe about £150 for 2 adults and a toddler for 3 days plus booze. And all the snacks for 2 weeks off work!

7eleven · 23/12/2021 17:29

Probably about £300, including the meats, but there are 8 of us.

Boogaloony · 23/12/2021 17:33

£110 in marks
£175 in Morrisons
£90 in Aldi
£50 in Iceland
£100 in Asda

But that's for everything. Xmas Eve for 9. Xmas day Dinner for ten. Boxing Day for 25. Including booze .
