Thanks @allatonce99 for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

@Teabird oh I'll keep refreshing that link and watch out. Thanks!

@Lazysundayafternoons

Would anyone have suggestions for books for a 7 year old boy for stocking fillers? He enjoys the likes of horrid Henry and captain underpants so looking for something humorous.
What about some Enid Blyton books - maybe the Faraway Tree series?

The Dave Pilkey Dog Man series looks good too.

DumplingsAndStew · 22/09/2020 14:58

My WHSmith order arrived today, some arty bits which will be perfect stocking fillers for teenage DC.

Had a 10% off flyer with it, looks like a generic code so hope I'm ok to post it here.

THKSSEPT - online only, 16th Sep to 30th Sept.

FrolickingLemon · 22/09/2020 15:04

The Lindor in my B&M are still £3.99 yet have a best before next month. Hoping they will put then down to a quid, but even if they do, they would have to he scoffed before Christmas (shame!)

Carrie76 · 22/09/2020 15:13

@Lazysundayafternoons the Roddy Doyle ones are great for that age

gaggiagirl · 22/09/2020 15:24

Thanks all for the lindor info! I think I'll buy various flavoured boxes of them nearer the time and mix them up in a pound shop Christmas tin.

Spam88 · 22/09/2020 15:35

Given what Boris has said today, any suggestions for bargainous parcel postage? 🙈

UselessInDisguise · 22/09/2020 15:36

Managed to get one of each gin at m&s today 😊 thanks everyone

thelegohooverer · 22/09/2020 16:03

@Lazysundayafternoons The Dirty Bertie series is about the same level as Horrid Henry and similarly vile Smile and the Roddy Doyle Giggler Treatment books include a Christmas themed one (Rover Saves Christmas)

PhantomErik · 22/09/2020 16:03

Lego Monster Truck for £5 on Amazon, good little stocking filler Smile

Anyone any tips for bargain outdoor clothing? Given the announcement in Scotland we are going to have to spend a lot of time outside with the hyper toddler (meeting in a cafe really isn't much of an option) this winter.

girlsyearapart · 22/09/2020 16:17

Ideas for my niece who is into the show Pretty Little Liars?
She’s turning 15 and I know nothing about the show...

bakingcupcakes · 22/09/2020 16:24

@Lazysundayafternoons We've just finished reading 'The boy who flew with dragons' series which has been excellent. Probably not as humorous as captain underpants but a really good story. The first 2 books were in The works for £3 a while ago. Not sure if they're still there.

bakingcupcakes · 22/09/2020 16:27

@Lazysundayafternoons I'd also 3rd the treetops books.

WhereTheresAHill · 22/09/2020 16:27

Does The White Company ever do larger discounts like 20% for Black Friday etc? Theres 10% off now but I’m sure in the past I’ve had 15% or 20% off. I know I’m being greedy but just need slightly more to bring non bargainous electric diffuser into Secret Santa budget! Thanks!

Raindancer411 · 22/09/2020 16:29

Book wise, what about the diary of a wimpy kid series?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/09/2020 16:34

Lazysundayafternoons Jeremy Strong might be good as well. The 100 Mile an Hour Dog, and the sequel, are very funny.

I'm also posting the colour in tablecloth and advent calendar again.

Lockdownhairdontcare · 22/09/2020 16:36

DD 16 keeps ‘borrowing’ my ghd straighteners. Has anyone seen a decent deal on a pair? Her birthday is in a month so would be ideal.

hiredandsqueak · 22/09/2020 16:40

What about The Bolds @Lazysundayafternoons? My nephew finds them hilarious.

Riddikulusness · 22/09/2020 16:44

Thanks to a stolen idea on a very early thread (may have even been the first one), I’m getting my Dd14 a sprocket printer and some peg lights to go with it. I can’t remember what was said but there are so many to choose from Confused !!! I’m at a total loss. Can anybody help please?

My youngest read all of the Tom Gates books last year (when he was 8) after being a reluctant independent reader.

I loved the 'diary of Pig' series. Absolute 7yo humour, really sweet and funny. My kids loved them.

Lazysundayafternoons · 22/09/2020 16:50

Thanks for all the book recommendations, didnt expect to get so many. I'm going to add them all to my Amazon wishlist now, and we'll work our way through the list. I think we'll have enough reading for the next year Smile

Asj0405 · 22/09/2020 16:54

@girlsyearapart what about a tote bag or etsy have some pretty little liars things

Onelittlepiglet · 22/09/2020 16:55

Saw some nice things on the Mango Outlet website Including some sweet accessories for kids like this reindeer necklace for £3.99. They also had a snowman one, plus other non-Christmassy ones. Also some lovely little bags for kids too.

Plus lots of nice things for any adults you have to buy for too!

Has anyone seen any good Harry Potter metal water bottles, online? Amazon has a lovely Hedwig one but it's plastic, and their metal ones are pretty naff.
