So dc presents have been brought for about a month and I am finished all of my Christmas shopping. For the last 7 years (since dd was born) I have stuck to a stocking and 2 gifts from Santa, one from me, one from the sibling and one from the dog giving 5 gifts under the tree (not including extended family and friends gifts) and around 10 little gifts in the stocking. I usually end up with 1 gift that over spills the stocking and today when I got them out to wrap they didn't look big enough to overspill!!
So this evening I have bought a large Donald Duck plush from the Disney store and a large minion from build a bear. This comes 2 days after telling my children they have too many teddies on their beds!! Arghh the twitch got me please say I am not alone Xmas Blush

I'm going to spend a fortune tomorrow. We are going to the sea life centre. I didn't end up going to Sainsbury's today so couldn't twitch. Xmas Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 18/12/2015 20:08

No twitching here yet.

CakeNinja · 18/12/2015 20:13

But Fatty, are you thinking you'll twitch? Or are you just spending on the day out?
I'm quite impressed, I've pretty much started and finished my Christmas shopping in 10 days, just a birthday present to buy and take the Dc shopping on Tuesday to buy for each other and possibly time for a twitch then.

FattySantaRobin · 18/12/2015 20:14

I will be spending on the day out but knowing me will see things I want to buy and wrap for next week

Pobspits · 19/12/2015 02:42

Am amazed by twitching dhs. My Dh has never twitched. Ever.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 19/12/2015 08:36

DH didn't twitch to my surprise! He did spend more than we'd hoped on the quiz prize (have agreed to have a budget for next year's) but only brought home one extra thing, which was the secret santa gift for his colleague.

SpellBookandCandle · 19/12/2015 12:02

My trigger finger!! My trigger finger! Right to Amazon for a Lego snowman set (Christmas Eve hamper), Tweezerman Tweezer's for my 17 yo dd ( stocking stuffer) posh and manly shampoo and body wash for my ds (also stocking stuffer) oh, and a book for ds, Hell's Angels. I MUST STOP! I WILL STOO..........

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 19/12/2015 17:00

OK Twitched.

Got Ticket to Ride but v pleased. Xmas Hmm

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 19/12/2015 17:17

Ticket to Ride is an essential household item. It's not a twitch. Xmas Grin

I'm sad because I just found out the last remaining book from my bookpeople order is not going to be here before Christmas. I am staying strong and not ordering something else to replace it, since there are loads of books in the pile anyway (and at least I know now so I can get on and wrap the pile!)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/12/2015 17:29

I won't get to the shops till Wednesday now (DH and I went out ludicrously early this morning, had a wander round the shops , some shopping but no Twitching. I bought a pair of straighteners for DD but they were on her list so that's not a Twitch)

Aside from the fresh food shopping, I need a large candle that I saw in Sainsburys (it has 4 wicks) to go in my hurricane lamp. Well, I don't need this one but I do need chunky candles ............

DH can Twitch online for my presents (that he hasn;t bought yet) and I've seen some nice make-up on QVC......................

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 19/12/2015 17:56

now where did you get yur beani boos from please

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 19/12/2015 18:03

Penguin one was ebay (seller is buy-for-less-online) as they were doing it for under £4, the bat was more pricey and from Amazon

missmargot · 19/12/2015 18:05

Gah. No matter how many times I say I've finished I can't stop myself.

DS now has some wooden skittles which he will love and FIL has a book which he will also love (and he's very hard to buy for so when I see something he likes I have to buy it).

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 19/12/2015 18:54

DH TWITCHED! He tried to deny it was a twitch Xmas Grin but he'd gone into The Works to look for a particular thing, and walked out with a £10 den building kit! DCs will LOVE it.

Shockers · 19/12/2015 19:24

I've had a big twitch.

There was a deal on travelzoo for a nearby, lovely restaurant. I've bought a voucher for my sister and one for DH (no self interest there Xmas Wink).

DS1 has a Rough Guide to London, as he's moving there in Jan, plus a gift voucher for an historical building I know he'll enjoy visiting (he had already had his present... money toward a weekend in Stockholm).

I've just ordered 3 boxes from Hotel Chocolat for friends too.

Now I need to bury my debit card in a deep hole before I do any more damage.

FattySantaRobin · 19/12/2015 19:59

I didn't twitch! DP stopped me. I did buy DD two new build a bears. A shark and a turtle

DS1 got a hatching clown fish egg thing and DS2 got a sea horse that rattles.
(DD got more as it was her birthday treat and she hadnt had a proper present)

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 19/12/2015 20:33

yip, me too. DD who is 4 asked for a onesie, so I bought her lovely one covered in glow in the dark stars (figured I could spot her coming into bed with me an DH).....but then it turned into a cat onesie. took her to see Santa today, top of her list was a cat onesie. just happened to be browsing on Amazon and found one that will hopefully fit, with prime delivery. but I had to do it didn't I, otherwise I would have destroyed her faith in Santa?!?

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 19/12/2015 21:28

Thanks now and Xmas Grin at your gh

Also thanks for the soothing words about my ticket twitch.

I said to dh " but think of the long year ahead, the more games we have the more fun we have too" Xmas Grin

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 19/12/2015 21:29

The " well its christmas" phrase it being worn out in my head now.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/12/2015 21:32

I had a twitch today - DD's birthday tomorrow as well as Christmas. Restrained myself though as she has plenty. Then twitched again and bought some goal nets from Argos !

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 19/12/2015 23:28

oops....and now I just bought a puppy surprise Blush

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 20/12/2015 09:34

I'm so glad it's so close to Christmas now. It's easy not to buy anything online. But I might have to pop into town later - we've ran out of non-santa wrapping paper! I also need to return the tights I got DD (a fiver for one pair in H&M but then found 2 for £4 in Asda, so I got that too - in the past I would've given her all 3 but now I will get a refund on the more expensive ones!)

Can I stay strong while I'm in the mall? CAN I?! I'm determined to just do the things I need to, and maybe stop for a nice hot chocolate and cake and watch the world rush by.

I'm struggling with Lego though as it turns out the boxes I got for DS and DD aren't the same size.

CremeBrulee · 21/12/2015 23:34

I went into Cambridge today to take the DC to a Christmas show and had to walk through the Grand Arcade. I'm afraid I left them with DH and twitched into Tiger and thenI found the Smiggle store.

DD and I looked at Smiggle online but the things she like were sold out. I found them all in the store - she didn't even see the store so has no idea, she will be so excited!

oobedobe · 21/12/2015 23:52

Feel proud of myself I managed a reverse twitch.

Twitched a few days ago on the zoomer kitty, was uming and ahing but it was the lowest price it has been so ordered it online, it arrived super quick and I stashed it away.

Saw sense after a day and took it to the local Toys R Us for a refund the guy at the desk said someone would be super happy as it was out of stock all week at their store!

So now I feel happy that someone will get 'lucky' finding that toy in stock and I resisted giving DD1 a $100 toy she did SO NOT NEED Xmas Grin

Phew

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 22/12/2015 00:16

Well done oobe!

I kind of twitched at Asda. I got tree decorations for the DCs at 50p each. I'd given up on finding some this year but... meh
