So dc presents have been brought for about a month and I am finished all of my Christmas shopping. For the last 7 years (since dd was born) I have stuck to a stocking and 2 gifts from Santa, one from me, one from the sibling and one from the dog giving 5 gifts under the tree (not including extended family and friends gifts) and around 10 little gifts in the stocking. I usually end up with 1 gift that over spills the stocking and today when I got them out to wrap they didn't look big enough to overspill!!
So this evening I have bought a large Donald Duck plush from the Disney store and a large minion from build a bear. This comes 2 days after telling my children they have too many teddies on their beds!! Arghh the twitch got me please say I am not alone Xmas Blush

I twitched and bought an EMOJI CUSHION from eBay. It's the poo emoji! Ds1 will love it.

Moomazoo · 12/12/2015 06:25

I went to John Lewis to buy my great nephew a Christmas outfit! Walked out with Joules skirt and tee-shirt if been lusting after for DD 4 and Animal jumpers for DS 8 & 6. They already have Christmas clothes!!!

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 11:40

I spent £177 in sainsburys Blush
I knew I would twitch.

fuzzpig · 12/12/2015 11:49

That's quite some twitch! Xmas Grin Go on then, whaddya get?

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 12/12/2015 11:53

I twitched too - Interactive Buzz and Woody figures - £50! DS has taken a liking to toy story and I always wanted those toys when I was little, so I think that's the problem! (More for me than him!)

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 11:54

A Minnie mouse costume
Thomas the tank engine duplo
Minecraft story mode
A singing elsa doll
Google play card
Clothes for the DC.

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 11:55

Oh and giant boxes of Jaffa cakes.

fuzzpig · 12/12/2015 12:28

If I twitched on Jaffa cakes they wouldn't make it to Christmas Xmas Grin

I'm intrigued by this new minecraft thing. We haven't got minecraft at all yet, but we are planning on getting the PC version sometime next year (it's a family reward for when we get the house tidy!) but would the first one or the new one be best Confused we are planning to play it as a family but would also want to do learning stuff with it (we homeschool and apparently there's loads to be learned on minecraft?!)

I know I will twitch on clothes if I go to a supermarket. DD did actually say she'd quite like some clothes for Christmas, she doesn't need a dress this year as last year's is still (surprisingly) pristine, but I did see a Thunderbirds t-shirt that my little-Gerry Anderson-obsessed DS would love... hmm.

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 13:02

First Minecraft.
The new one is a pre set story with pre set outcomes for the options that you choose, whereas Minecraft you can do whatever the hell you like. Grin
We only have Xbox version but I will be getting the PC version when I get a new laptop as I love Minecraft too.

I had to buy clothes for them. If I ask other people to buy clothes they don't ask what size to get so it ends up being wrong.

DD is 2 in a few days, so everyone thinks she needs 2-3 yrs clothes but she's only just in 12-18 months.
DS2 is 4 months so they get 3-6 months but he needs 6-9 (and even they won't last much longer)

fuzzpig · 12/12/2015 13:06

Cool, thank you for the info :)

On another note, can somebody please cut off my internet until Christmas?

I've just been asked to do some freelance work, it was totally unexpected at this time and I'm kind of going a bit loopy at the thought of having an extra £300 by Christmas. Not that I'd spend anywhere near all of it, but still...

Shockers · 12/12/2015 13:08

I wish DH would stop bloody twitching!

fuzzpig · 12/12/2015 13:35

I think the main issue for me is a need to make the piles really even! I bet the DCs wouldn't generally notice either

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 13:42

I feel like that too. DS1 seems to have so much more than the 2 babies, but I've spent more on the babies! It's doing my head in! (DS1 would have had more spent on him but I managed to get a brand new tablet free by getting broadband, which I needed anyway)

Mincedpie · 12/12/2015 14:58

Completely finished weeks ago, since then have spent another £100 Xmas Hmm. Ds will be thrilled with his surprise Thunderbird 2 ship, it wasn't even on any lists.

To be fair its his birthday in Jan, so I will probably end up keeping a few bits back for that...possibly..maybe probably not

fuzzpig · 12/12/2015 15:26

DS got the small Thunderbird 2 for his birthday this year, he loves it! :)

DH is getting a Thunderbirds wallet (he does actually need a wallet) for Christmas and Thunderbirds cufflinks for his birthday next month. Thunderbirds chess set is earmarked for a joint present for DH and DS... next Christmas (too expensive to twitch on it this year).

FixItUpChappie · 12/12/2015 15:48

I did it too. Bought my sons a lights abet each.....now have to put something to the side for another occasion because their piles are a tad ridiculous. Fun, but I acknowledge....a bit much BlushGrin

FixItUpChappie · 12/12/2015 15:50

Bloody auto correct....that lightsabers

oobedobe · 12/12/2015 17:44

My big twitch this year was two massive Littlest Pet Shop playsets that I decided DD1 just had to have Hmm based on one little comment she made last weekend.

I am getting better at avoiding the stocking twitch though, I have told myself I can have ONE more small twitch before Christmas so I am saving it Grin

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 17:49

Well I bought a pop up shop today, but it was something I was strongly considering for ages anyway... so that's not really a twitch right? That's going to be their main present (not in terms of cost but it's huge in size - foldable thankfully)

Ah, but oobe - what exactly counts as a SMALL twitch? Xmas Grin

TheoriginalLEM · 12/12/2015 18:03

I am practically fitting here - Disney infinity 3.0 for dd because she "likes starwars now" Hmm

Still just some colouring books and pencils for DD1 who will get money the money my mum give ME for christmas will be put in a card for her she is 25 and difficult to buy for. So this is bound to cause more twitching.

DP and I have agreed no presents

Am now pining for my amazon prime trial to be over.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 18:09

I don't know LEM sometimes I think it would be better to have Prime, because at least you can just buy one thing - I keep adding things to my basket just to get the free standard delivery with £20 minimum spend...

TheoriginalLEM · 12/12/2015 18:22

well am running out of £££ so will have to stop twitching soon - have sworn to myself i am not going to fill the stocking with worthless shit like i did last year, some of which is STILL in my bedroom untouched from when DD opened it last year.

I think for me what does it is that i don't have much family who buy for DD (I am an only child, most of my aunts/uncles have passed away) so the only way i get the lots of pressies under the tree is if we buy them. Thats not me complaining, just the way it is - but i always remember having lots of presents under the tree because extended family would buy them. Also, always did it for DD1 when she was younger and there were more family around who bought.

But really, we need to catch ourselves on don't we? I have tried so hard this year to only buy stuff that i know she will use or needs. I've tried Blush

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 19:38

Ditto on the small family - I'm an only child of two only children so in the past we've been the only ones to buy for our little DCs (my parents/grandma do give money for their presents, so it wouldn't be us paying for everything, but it would be us choosing everything IYSWIM). But we do have some close friends and SILs who have started giving presents in the last couple of years - including a friend who would buy them the entire Lego store if I let him - and my DSCs (now late teen/adult) seem to enjoy spoiling their little brother and sister too! [santa] So I don't really have that reason to buy so much anymore Xmas Blush

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2015 19:48

arf @ nilby

It is Grin

I am done but there are a few games I would really like to buy, and the long year ahead stretches out without these extra few games Shock we need them. We do!

I keep going back to my Amazon basket and looking.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2015 19:48

Ditto ditto on the small family ( well not that small just tight) it all falls to us.
