So dc presents have been brought for about a month and I am finished all of my Christmas shopping. For the last 7 years (since dd was born) I have stuck to a stocking and 2 gifts from Santa, one from me, one from the sibling and one from the dog giving 5 gifts under the tree (not including extended family and friends gifts) and around 10 little gifts in the stocking. I usually end up with 1 gift that over spills the stocking and today when I got them out to wrap they didn't look big enough to overspill!!
So this evening I have bought a large Donald Duck plush from the Disney store and a large minion from build a bear. This comes 2 days after telling my children they have too many teddies on their beds!! Arghh the twitch got me please say I am not alone Xmas Blush

Is it a twitch if it's something you meant to buy but had forgotten? Even though you had said you'd finished and didn't actually need to buy it?

I might have twitched and bought my 11y old a Starbucks card so he can buy all the frappachinos his little heart desires. Xmas Grin

There was also a Superman washbag but it's hardly a twitch at £2. Then the twitch for the toiletries for in it. Barely counts.

The shark headphones were a definite twitch. Which I'd forgotten about until I started this post. Goddammit, I thought I was practically twitch free!

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 16/12/2015 17:44

I twitched and got myself two champagne saucers, I got them for a friend and coveted them, so got them Xmas Blush

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 17:46

I must live a sheltered life, I have no idea what champagne saucers are! Off to google I go...

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 17:47

My mum just asked what clothes the DCs need, and what size, as she's going into town tomorrow. I think she is happy to have an excuse to twitch! Blush

guineapig1 · 16/12/2015 18:31

Twitching here too: just ordered a pile of crayons and jigsaws for the kids then realised that they were all amazon add-ons. Naturally I then had to extend my twitch to a bottle of naice champagne to qualify for free delivery Hmm

Pobspits · 16/12/2015 19:23

I got the wine bottle costume in twitchers Mecca - the 99p shop.

FFS though dd loves her teacher and is all excited to be giving him a keyring she designed but the company have just told me they forgot to post it and it'll be here next week. School finishes 12 on Friday!!!

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 20:25

Oh heck, I have to go to Poundland tomorrow - instead of a secret santa at work we're doing a lucky dip and price limit is a pound! I'm going to have to not look at ANYTHING else! Except maybe cheap chocolate but that's not for Christmas so it doesn't count as a twitch.

traviata · 16/12/2015 21:00

Gaah. Classic Amazon twitch.

DD asked me to get her something, for which she will pay me back. So then I added some DVDs to get free delivery. And then I added a book for DNephew. And another book and another DVD.

nearly £40 later...

Had been so good avoiding the 'twitch' but today succumbed and bought DD two Harry Potter POP vinyl figures ( Harry Potter and Hagrid) !

Pobspits · 17/12/2015 17:32

I went to Asda today and only bought what I went in for

Xmas Shock
FattySantaRobin · 17/12/2015 20:10

pob Xmas Shock how?!

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 17/12/2015 21:49

now they are just sort of wider martini glasses, rather than flutes for champagne, I have always wanted some.

Pobspits · 17/12/2015 23:09

fatty I don't know! I feel I may have reached twitching peak. I have to go to B&M tomorrow though to buy a present for dd from my mum....wish me luck!

FattySantaRobin · 17/12/2015 23:16

I'm off to sainsbos tomorrow. I won't twitch for Christmas though. If I'm going to twitch it will be buying DD an extra birthday present. She's 2 tomorrow.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/12/2015 23:29

Tomorrow I will drop my DD off at school and drive into town.
Have a nice Costa/Starbucks (I haven't had one of their Festive drinks yet because I drink soya, so I'll see if they can do this)

Then I'm going to wander round Home Bargains, Waterstones, Lush, Primark, TKMaxx, Superdrug, The Range, M&S, Tiger then Sainsburys.

Plenty of chances to Twitch but I do have a list (or three)

traviata · 17/12/2015 23:32

OMG 70 that is a twitching ground, list or no list!

I predict 5 extra purchases over and above your list.

Tomorrow I am getting everything out for the DC and having a big sort out. Stockings, bedside, tree (some shared) or birthday.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/12/2015 00:23

Not only have I got my Twitchy Fingers ready, I have Nectar Points..........

Xmas Grin
NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 18/12/2015 11:24

Happy birthday miniRobin! Cake

I am DONE! [proud]

Did the clothes shopping yesterday and while the piles aren't evenly sized (DS' stuff is bulkier jeans etc) I added up the total spend on clothes - including the few bits I'd ordered online - and it was to my surprise only a few pence away from being exactly the same (£70 each). So I am happy and I think this will stop me getting more (not that I really have an opportunity now anyway). The only thing I'm slightly twitchy about is the fact DD still doesn't have many t-shirts but 4 new ones is good right?! And I didn't see any others that I liked anyway.

Mind you that could all change when I check the sizes of everything (not totally sure about the jeans I got DS as he normally wears elasticated stuff not button up) as if I have to take something back I am bound to twitch...

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 18/12/2015 11:32

I've just realised that worrying about 4 t-shirts being enough is totally ridiculous. It's mainly that most of her current t-shirts are too short! Argh

2anddone · 18/12/2015 11:40

I can feel another twitch coming on I really NEED to have a Christmas Day outfit even though it's only us and the do stay in pjs!

VinoTime · 18/12/2015 12:55

I twitched!

WHSmith:

The large version of the Beanie Boos Unicorn plush.

The A to Z of Rainbow Fairies book.

A dress up dolls sticker pack.

Poundland:

Box of candy canes, tube of smarties, a toothbrush and a Spice Girls CD.

Amazon:

Two Rainbow fairies books

A Unicorn School book

The Sims 3 for the Wii - the one she was not going to be getting...

Another Spice Girls CD and the fucking movie.

For fuck sake, Vino! Another £70 down the crapper! £78 if you include the Amazon Prime membership you signed up for to ensure all the new shite arrived on time.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 18/12/2015 13:11

Oooh Beanie Boos are lovely though! My DCs are getting the little versions of these in their stockings (penguin for DS, bat for DD) - everything in their stockings is usually wrapped but the cuddlies will be unwrapped, sticking out of the top so it's the first thing they see Xmas Smile

Forgive me Mumsnet for I have twitched!!

traviata · 18/12/2015 13:11

oh Vino. there there. have some Cake.

What can you put aside for a birthday? Do you want to return anything?

I have just had a big sort out of everything I got for the DC, and at least 5 things have gone back in the wardrobe for later next year.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 18/12/2015 18:09

DH is twitching in Sainsbury's as the lego mixels are reduced. He's got to go to BHS too and I bet he comes out with more than the one specific thing he's going there for...
