So dc presents have been brought for about a month and I am finished all of my Christmas shopping. For the last 7 years (since dd was born) I have stuck to a stocking and 2 gifts from Santa, one from me, one from the sibling and one from the dog giving 5 gifts under the tree (not including extended family and friends gifts) and around 10 little gifts in the stocking. I usually end up with 1 gift that over spills the stocking and today when I got them out to wrap they didn't look big enough to overspill!!
So this evening I have bought a large Donald Duck plush from the Disney store and a large minion from build a bear. This comes 2 days after telling my children they have too many teddies on their beds!! Arghh the twitch got me please say I am not alone Xmas Blush

Sorry, would that be the work of the board game thread Elf? Xmas Grin

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2015 19:51

symphony I got two of those hams!

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2015 19:54

Yes Now!

I have already got two great games on there, but am desperate for a couple more.

I really really like to buy at xmas, I dont like to give at other times of the year really bar birthdays of course.

Just envisioning sitting out in summer, with lovely stash of games to play...

Although I could give some at easter? But I dont really want to set a precedent for Easter gifts..

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 20:04

Argh! I did it again.
Bought DP a Darth Vader Christmas jumper
DS2 now has new bath toys.
And I bought new books for them.

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 20:05

I'm all out if money now though so I can't do it again until Monday when I get paid

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 20:06

I don't give gifts other than Xmas/birthdays either, but DH and I budget for a bit of 'pocket money' every month which is used for whatever we (individually) want like DVDs, games, geeky merchandise etc (but we know we're not overspending because it's limited). I get a lot of our games that way so we do have new ones throughout the year, but it's "this is mum's new game" rather than "here's a game for you" IYSWIM :o

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 20:07

The above was to Elf re: the games. Oh Robin what are we going to do with you? :o

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 20:09

I'm glad I don't get paid til 24th.

missmargot · 12/12/2015 20:18

I've twitched epically today- Hollister hoodie for DSS, animal sorting cube game for DS and a laptop for DH. I will stop now. I. Will. Stop. Now.

booksrock · 12/12/2015 20:19

We measured the DT present piles and one looked much bigger than the other so I got the twitch

Luckily dh got in there first and got him a CD/ radio player - something cheap, practical and in a big box

Now it's just dh who doesn't have much, but then he didn't ask for much Blush

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 20:32

I've been putting every Christmas spend in a spreadsheet. Yesterday I copy/pasted the items for DD and DS into lists... was very happy they had the same number of entries. Amazingly the spend is very even too although the latter wasn't intentional (they are only 2 years apart though, and have pretty similar interests, so it's been easy to find 'equivalent' gifts)

Tomorrow I've set my alarm for a lightning deal that's on in the morning Xmas Blush and I already know what I'm getting DD as an equivalent...

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 20:41

Now I want to look at Amazon.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 12/12/2015 20:49

Trust me, for the sake of your bank balance, you really really don't! It's lethal I tell you

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2015 21:02

now

Like your spin Grin good idea!

Amazon may be lethal but its wonderful isnt it, so so easy. I love it.

FattySantaRobin · 12/12/2015 21:11

I'm resisting just about

Baubleicious · 12/12/2015 21:23

Fgs. In 48 hours...Steam voucher for DS1, so got Xbox Toy Story game for DS2. Got DS2 1000 Things That Go book, so DS1 got a magic set. DSD got a TY fox soft toy because omg she will love it. So then went and got DH a Star Wars Xmas tee shirt.

I'm hiding my debit card.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 13/12/2015 08:04

Oh god bauble you've reminded me I was thinking of getting cuddly toys aaarrgh! No time for a (non-ridiculously-expensive) pikachu for DD though.

I've got the lightning deal I wanted (batman story cubes) and DD's Anna dress (if that doesn't keep the santa magic alive, nothing will - she's wanted one for 2yrs)

Seems that on lightning deals they use the original price to determine whether you get free delivery. My basket was less than £20 but it still said I qualified. That's happened a few times with lightning deals but I always added something else anyway, you know, to be sure

ALemonyPea · 13/12/2015 08:47

I twitched yesterday and bought a robot spider thingy for £7.50. It was reduced to half price though.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/12/2015 11:44

nowbringus which pop up shop did u buy? Not that I should ask really but dd's would love it!! Have u seen build a bear are doing a pikachu? He is very cute and I know my build a bear and pokemon obsessed dd would love it but must resist as would need 2!

I always end up twitching but I love a massive pile on Christmas, some of my twitches have been the most loved gifts of all!

I have already put by the bargain build a bear minions away for easter and then some bargain playmobil, big hero 6 figure set and animator dolls for dd2 birthday in June :) then I will twitch near her bday and have to save some for Christmas abd the cycle continues!

SpendSpendSpend · 13/12/2015 11:54

I ve just spent £100 in 12 hours on dd after i ve swore blind id finished her xmas stuff.

No more now!

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 14/12/2015 01:29

It adds up so bloody fast doesn't it!

This is the pop up shop

(and no I didn't know about BAB pikachu! Thankfully that shop is way over budget so easy to resist! Xmas Blush)

SymphonyofShadows · 14/12/2015 08:06

I've mainly twitched on lights and decs but I am stalking a totally unnecessary tiny drone thing in M&S for DP. It's £25 but I reckon that gifts will be reduced in the last few days or, failing that, I'll get it on Xmas day online.

supermariossister · 14/12/2015 08:30

Twitched to the tune of 55 on sports direct clothes, big bargains though and free delivery so it's okay right?

Flingingmelon · 14/12/2015 09:01

I put up the tree yesterday and because the big presents won't fit under it, the little ones that are under it look really pathetic and sparse.

The urge to twitch is very strong...

GlitteryShoes · 14/12/2015 12:23

I'm about to twitch... Should I?
Dds are 13,14 and 15. 13 yr old is getting MacBook ( paid £300 herself) as joint bday and Christmas. 14 yr old has gel nail kit and hair tongs, 15 yr old had MacBook in September (£500 paid via disability service). Am thinking about getting instax camera for 14 and 15 yr odds but will 13 yr old be upset? Have they got enough? Aaaargh
