So dc presents have been brought for about a month and I am finished all of my Christmas shopping. For the last 7 years (since dd was born) I have stuck to a stocking and 2 gifts from Santa, one from me, one from the sibling and one from the dog giving 5 gifts under the tree (not including extended family and friends gifts) and around 10 little gifts in the stocking. I usually end up with 1 gift that over spills the stocking and today when I got them out to wrap they didn't look big enough to overspill!!
So this evening I have bought a large Donald Duck plush from the Disney store and a large minion from build a bear. This comes 2 days after telling my children they have too many teddies on their beds!! Arghh the twitch got me please say I am not alone Xmas Blush

I've just twitched. Amazon cancelled one book I was buying for a tenner, so I went to find it on Wordery, couldn't find the same one, ordered two different ones instead, found an organiser thing I liked but they had a nicer version on Amazon, bought another book on Amazon to qualify for free delivery AND SOMEHOW I HAVE SPENT FORTY QUID.

rubyflipper · 10/12/2015 11:59

I twitched this morning and bought a chocolate coin maker for DD Xmas Blush

MackerelOfFact · 10/12/2015 12:02

Ooh ruby, do a search through for past threads on the chocolate coin maker and you will regret your twitching even more!

CinnamonStar · 10/12/2015 12:04

I nearly did yesterday when someone posted a link to a little tube of mythological creatures play figures. And I thought oooh, those would be just perfect for the DC's stockings.
I am just about staying strong, because they were a bit expensive. But there are still two weeks to Christmas, plenty of time for my finger to slip and press add to basket.

TWITCH

Damn it... found a book light that I bought for DH in the bottom of my handbag. Popped to Tesco to get scampi for tea and bought him a book to go with said light....

TWITCH

I am not going near a shop for the next ten days. That is an actual real-live fact.

bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 10/12/2015 13:09

I twitched in the Disney store too and bought animator dolls to match the dress up outfits I got them! Oops. I'm seriously resisting temptation to just buy most of Hawkins bazaar as stocking fillers! They have enough

MackerelOfFact · 10/12/2015 13:53

OK, thanks to this thread I have untwitched and cancelled my Amazon order. Phew.

Sharonkh76 · 10/12/2015 13:55

I did too. I came across Magna Tiles and spent £70 on the imitation Playmags. (But to be shared between two DC!).
It gets worse, they came and besides being all scratched weren't that great because the small rectangles have polarity problems. I decided the saving over genuine Magna Tiles wasn't actually sufficient so have now ordered some genuine Magna Tiles, which were £85. However, could only find the solid colours, so added a small pack of clear ones for £37...
They're an 'investment' I believe!

Last week I panicked that I hadn't bought DC4 any games that I could play with him so ordered a few of them...

Olecranon · 10/12/2015 14:13

Twitched on baby born sink and doll high chair. I must not go to any more shops. I am finished!!! But I know she will love them...

frazzled74 · 10/12/2015 14:44

Now I am going to find out what magna tiles are and probably twitch!!!

fuzzpig · 10/12/2015 15:28

Twitching ever single year here.

fuzzpig · 10/12/2015 15:29

SymphonyofShadows · 10/12/2015 15:36

Not gifts but I twitched badly on lots of half price lights and bits at M&S. I almost twitched on a Serrano ham on a stand in Aldi but changed my mind at the last minute. Does that count?

FabFlo · 10/12/2015 15:57

I've twitched on two more presents for DD3 who needed nothing in the first place as she has plenty of toys handed down from her older sisters and is only 1yo.

Someone stop me for the love of god.

2anddone · 10/12/2015 16:11

Glad I am not alone I want to say the twitch won't get me again but there are no guarantees!!!

I'll be twitching today over chocs etc. as I have to take DM food shopping in M&S. I always get 'spare' gifts then eat them myself

ALemonyPea · 11/12/2015 08:16

I twitched yesterday. I bought:

A box of temp tattoos
A book of build your own masks
Family trivial pursuits
A giant 1kg jelly baby Hmm

I must stay away from shops.

99percentchocolate · 11/12/2015 08:21

Twitched too - Russell Howard tickets. Shock No idea where I'm getting the money for that!

katienana · 11/12/2015 08:24

I'm twitching and getting ds a fire engine play tent. For the last 10 days he's been asking santa for a BIG BIG fire engine. I didn't know what to do and then I thought of a tent!

Goodbetterbest · 11/12/2015 08:37

ASOS has 30% off gifts, plus another 15% off if you shop through the App - appydays15 is the code.

That doesn't help, does it? Wink

fuzzpig · 11/12/2015 11:46

Two twitches today and it's not even lunchtime! £7 for the Mythology book (same as Dragonology etc which the DCs love) and £18 for the Big Bang Theory Cluedo set I've been lusting after for ages :) I should really stop looking at Amazon

FattySantaRobin · 11/12/2015 12:19

I'm going to twitch later. I know I am. I'm going to Sainsburys and I'm buying clothes for them to wear on Christmas day, but I know I'm going to come out with a load of stuff I don't actually need.

fuzzpig · 11/12/2015 12:21

I can't go in to actual shops at this time of year! I know I'll buy random crap. I find crowds really difficult and scary, and the anxiety that causes makes me even more likely to just panic buy IYSWIM - it's like all common sense goes out the window!

FattySantaRobin · 11/12/2015 12:23

I know exactly what you mean. I hate crowds too. And feel awkward just browsing but I need nappies and DD can only use Sainsbury's nappies as she gets a sore bum otherwise.
