A parcel from a very generous Santa has arrived: a wonderful Playmobil advent calendar to get our family in the mood for Christmas. I think I'm probably more excited about it than my boys .

I have just sorted out my Secret Santa present Tis my first year this year, and I don't know how I've missed it before. I've had such pleasure doing this, and I really really really hope that my MNetter enjoys it.

BUT... I need to read all instructions 40 times to make sure I get this right

Because of the strike I had to take DD aged 5 shopping with me today. I explained that we were buying a present for someone we didn't know and (foolishly?) let her choose a present for a little girl so am hoping she has chosen well

My gift arrived this morning, I'd actually forgotten all about it until I looked at the envelope which read to 'Miss Mumsnetter' which was my first real smile!

so very much to the lovely person who donated 5744 to the Secret Santa this year. You are so very kind and generous.

And even more thanks to whoever felt me worthy of a gift this year, I have no idea who would do that for me, so from the bottom of my heart xxxx

We've been having a really tough time of late, my disability has gotten much worse, the docs have upped my morphine which isn't really helping, I need further neurological tests and now a brain scan.

I'm also now reliant on my DH to take me anywhere, whilst still caring full-time for our gorgeous little Nemo (our DS who has Complex SN).

You have no idea just what this means to me, to us. There are no words to say how lovely the kindness of strangers can change your day.
