I've been asked by RebeccaMumsnet to start this thread. Smile

A big thanks to all at MNHQ for arranging this. You little stars!

When posting thanks, please give the Santa number that should be on your gift so that people can see that their gifts have arrived. Many thanks.

My Thanks :
A parcel from a very generous Santa has arrived: a wonderful Playmobil advent calendar to get our family in the mood for Christmas. I think I'm probably more excited about it than my boys Grin.
Thank you so much to the lovely person who nominated me - I am deeply, deeply touched by your kind thoughts.
And thank you so very much to my lovely Santa638. We will all enjoy your gift enormously: a perfect choice Smile. Wishing you and all your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and a peaceful and loving 2012. Thanks

RebeccaMumsnet · 29/11/2011 11:13

Hi all,

What MOSagain said.

The original thread is here

It is a little late in the day for matches and posting etc but if you have something extra special/would like to donate something quick and easy like vouchers or there is someone you really really wanted to nominate but missed the deadline, you can mail [email protected]

Oh and Xmas Smile ho ho ho the Christmas smilies are here!

RebeccaMumsnet · 02/12/2011 13:44

@ISawPINOTSnoggingSantaClaus

Fell I don't know exactly - you aren't told why. I suspect it's because I rescued the kittens or, alternatively, because I'm brilliant in every way Twas the most wonderful feeling so thanks again to whoever loves me mostest xx

Xmas Shock Your nominator said " because she rescued kittens and because she's brilliant in every way " was it you?

Xmas Grin not really, it's cos you is great innit.

People were nominated for many many different reasons, from general greatness to having had a really crappy time of it and deserving a bit of love luck and everything in between.

@schilke

Ok. Quick question as I've not done this before. I have my recipient. Can I send little wrapped up pressies for the children or do I just send a voucher? I know which I want to do - the wrapped up pressies!

It is entirely up to you. If you do wrap, it might be nice to pop a note in for the MNetter to make sure she doesn't double do.

RebeccaMumsnet · 02/12/2011 14:37

@MOSagain

Xmas Sad

If you are good Santa will bring you a badge

@mcfee

Hi I offered a gift card for some one and got an acknowledgement but I've never received an e-mail with details of where to send it. I've just e-mailed [email protected] to ask you to check - can you watch out for it. Wouldn't like some one to be expecting something that they don't get!

Sorry mcfee, will have a look and get back to you.

RebeccaMumsnet · 02/12/2011 14:37

@EarthMotherImNot

Yesterday I finished my radio-therapy treatment and, having been fully involved in that for the last 3 weeks Christmas has been the last thing on my mind.

To the very special mumsnetter (4129) a million thank you's for the vouchers. Dh got such a fright when I burst into tears on opening the post. I think his exact words were "it's the bloody phone bill isn't it" Xmas Grin

Whoever you are I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas, Thanks xxx

and Xmas Grin @ DH

@jetzombie

Mumsnet HELP! I am an idiot, its official Blush I have stupidly accidentally deleted the email sent to me with my lovely mumsnetters details so I have gifts ready to send but no address to send it to and I am in a panic. I have e-mailed but am worried that no one will see it until it's too late and a lovely mumsnetter will get nothing Sad Please can you send me the e-mail with all the details again. Sorry for being such an utter twit Xmas Blush Sorry to everyone else for having to see this on a thank you thread.
Oops. Panic not. It happens. I will pass your details on to the Wondrous Rebecca who'll be in touch.

OliviaMumsnet · 05/12/2011 22:22

@NormaSparklerFlashBangAhhh

Olivia. Do you volunteer for all the shit late night shifts or have you done something really bad and are doing penance?

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 07/12/2011 18:48

Hi Moss and all,

The MN Secret Santa was rather large this year with over 200 people donating (some with several gifts) and over 150 people nominated, that is not to mention the few companies who have donated and the stash we send out from our 'Magic Cupboard of Christmas Joy' [frgin]

This mean that several people will receive two or more gifts.

Please do try and come and say Thanks as and when you get a chance, folks generally just want to know that their gift has arrived!

Merry Christmas

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 08/12/2011 09:20

@BaroqueAroundTheClock

oh my gosh MNHQ - what can I say - thank you!! 8.15 this morning a knock at the door the postman (I never get anything delivered here before the DS's are at school!). Open it and am presented with a large (slightly odd shaped) package,.............sadly with damaged packaging (at both ends - eek boys are behind me). Anyhow, I covered it up, they knew what it was, meanwhile I pondered, oops they forgot to put the code on it......

Then I drop them at school and come home and take off the top part of the parcel and see that it's from MNHQ Xmas Shock,........it's very much like you know my boys. Absolutely lovely, and perfect for my boys. (perhaps not in the order you'd imagined they'd be with the ages of them however Xmas Grin but still perfect. Thank you so much, and thank you to the person who nominated me >

Thanks

Cor blimey, that was sent yesterday at 4pm.
Really pleased that they were right Xmas Grin Merry Christmas

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 08/12/2011 15:27

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 20/12/2011 10:09

Hi Cestlavie,

We can mail and ask if anything has been received but we do like to give folks a week or so to post and we never say that they have to.

Some may be in hospital, moving etc, it is not always possible for them to post but we will mail and check whether or not the have received anything if you are concerned about the parcel arriving, that is no problem.

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 20/12/2011 10:34

We received so many lovely words in the nomination mails and the nominee return mails that we wanted to share a few of the comments anonymously as they really are beautiful

We hope that you don't mind us re-posting them.

We have edited a few of them to hide any identifying info but you get the idea.

I would just like to add a little note of thanks.
Whatever help I have been able to give via Mumsnet, has been returned by the bucket load .I am so grateful to have found this group of wonderful women , it has helped me through what has been the toughest time of my life.

Thank you so much. It means a lot after a pretty difficult year and I have had some wonderful support on the boards myself.

To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement to beat the band. To whoever nominated me a thousand thank yous.

We have had a truly dreadful year but this is just wonderful.

All i can say is wow - i'm very touched - thank you

Wow!!! That is so cool and amazing, whoever nominated me must be a very lovely person indeed. (feel rather teary that someone would be so kind!!)

Dear MN Elves,
Wow! Thank you for such a lovely surprise email. It has brought tears to my eyes Smile

Thank you so much to whoever nominated me and to all the wonderful people who make this happen. For the first time this year I don't feel so anxious about Christmas so a massive thank you to you all.

or simply Oh my actual God! What a lovely surprise!

And from the nomination mails:

I believe her daily life holds many challenges that most people would never experience. Despite this, she is one of the most thoughtful, wise and compassionate posters on here.

She is going through such difficult times.

I have never met her in RL but she has been a wonderful friend to me.

She is always putting other people first. It would be amazing if she was to get a little something for herself as she never does in RL.

She is an absolute saint! She always puts a positive spin on things, even on threads that get very heated, she is the calm in the storm.

She is an amazing person, she listens to me rant and rave and always manages to cheer me up. I would love for her to receive a treat for herself - it would go some way towards showing her what a fabby person she is.

She has fought cancer and is an inspirational and giving lady.

Amazing woman.

I would like her to know that we are thinking of her.

She also knows just the right things to say to everyone to help them through whatever is going on.

I would love to see her many kindnesses rewarded.

She is the most loving and generous woman. She always gives her last dime to anybody who needs it. She deserves to be spoiled a bit. I feel I am receiving a huge gift this Christmas merely by having her as a friend.

I want to give her a huge hug but can't, so this is the best I can do for her.

For being lovely and funny.

Hi all
I don't spend as much time on the boards as I'd like, but have just spent an emotional hour reading all these messages and being moved to tears by it all. What lovely folks you all are - and at the risk of coming over all Kate Winslet - thanks for making Mumsnet what we always wanted it to be - a place where parents make other parents' lives easier.
You're all stars Xmas Smile
x
PS and if I've got that apostrophe wrong, please don't tell me.... it'll spoil the moment Xmas Grin

Xmas Grin

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 22/12/2011 18:51

@secretsanta233

Did everyone nominated get something? Only I nominated someone and can't see her....

Everyone nominated got matched, a few declined gifts, a few didn't respond to our mails and PM's but the vast majority accepted and were matched.

Thanks all for making this what it is. The emails, PM's and posts blow me away some days. There are some truly wonderful people out there.

RebeccaHallsWithBoughsOMumsnet · 25/12/2011 14:25

Popping in to catch up and wish you all a very very Merry Christmas.

You all humble me very much and I'm very proud to 'know' you all.
