i called yesterday and was told another 3 weeks for a decision. Scan date 10/05

Pippisqueak · 02/09/2023 10:36

My scan date 10/05 as well. After my experiences applying for my other child earlier this year they tend to overestimate the wait to manage expectations. I am confident you and I will get a decision this week. It’s usually pretty quick once it gets to a decision maker, but they seem to say it takes 2 weeks just in case there are any issues or they need to obtain further info

Stressedsoph1 · 02/09/2023 10:38

just received my award letter have added the change details for my youngest in order to get disabled child element added. what is it I need to add to the journal now. from memory it relates to backdating and advising why change was made late?

In july I was told august last week I was told 17 weeks. Just have to keep waiting, just get worried all this waiting then gonna be declined but I'm more hopeful this time because of different school will prob help as they did ask if she got dla

Mom23milly · 02/09/2023 11:34

My scan date is 15/5
I wrote in the information of SEN, ECHP and that we were waiting for appointment for hospital (as doctor said is quicker then cams) I never sent in the letters ect.. Does that mean it will take longer? I didn't realise anything other then the form was to be sent.

Skenners · 02/09/2023 12:10

Scan date 9/5 just had a text to say I have been awarded!. Daughter is 14 and on the pathway to autism diagnosis so no formal diagnosis. I am so pleased as I have never had any help for her and she struggles so much I may be able to afford some counselling for her. I Have to wait up to 2 weeks to get the letter to let me know what the award is. 😑Just wondering. I am a single parent and work full time ( home based luckily ) I get some tax credit. I know I will get a bit more now but how will that be affected when we move to UC under the transitional protection. It's coming very soon the move to UC apparently

Fgsss · 02/09/2023 12:56

Congrats! I’m the same scan date as you my 4yo DD is also on the pathway to autism diagnosis but no diagnosis at present. All I sent as evidence was school statement stating that she shows “clear signs of autism”. I’m defo gonna be calling them Monday now 😅

zoeybrooks45 · 02/09/2023 13:36

I am a working single mother aswell, if you get support with housing benefit, then everything including tax credit will be added up as lump sum and paid monthly. Your wage will be deducted after the first £379 and then onwards from every £1 they deduct 55p. As others have mentioned you are not entitled to career allowance but can receive career element which is around £185.86 and extra money for the disabled child. If you receive middle rate you will get £146.31, and if you receive higher rate you get £456.89. This is in addition towards your DLA rate.

Hi this is my first time posting.
I have been following for a while and its been such a long wait! But my sons claim is finally with a DM and I feel so anxious! It's been with the DM since Tuesday and haven't had a text or anything like I have seen other people get so I am so worried it has been declined! Scan date 02/05 anyone else waiting from this date? I've seen a few being awarded after it

Wigswaddis · 02/09/2023 14:33

Transitional protection will be applied for 12 months after you move. Look on entitles to when you get the award it’ll give you a very good idea what you’ll be entitled after the TP

Beebee28 · 02/09/2023 15:40

I rang yesterday they received my forms on the 27th may, and got told the wait time is 18 weeks and I’m only on 15 also on the phone it says you get paid on a Wednesday every 4 weeks if this helps anyone. She also said my claim hasn’t even been looked at yet and I needed to send in medical forms? However we’re still on the waiting list for a assessment a year down the line so I’m not hopeful we will we awarded :(

I’ve had dla for 3 years And always been paid on a Tuesday

Snoweymum · 02/09/2023 16:37

My scan date was the 2nd, my son was awarded last Friday, I wasn't sent a text, I only found out because I phoned on Tuesday and had money in the bank by Thursday

Skenners · 02/09/2023 16:39

@Fgsss I called a week ago and they told me 2 weeks. I'm glad they are recognizing kids without diagnosis. I've been passed from pillar to post for years trying to get on the camhs waiting list

Skenners · 02/09/2023 16:43

@Wigswaddis thank you. I will be much worse off on UC as it is now. I have done the calculation.

Skenners · 02/09/2023 16:46

@zoeybrooks45 thanks that's really helpful. I'm paying a mortgage so I don't get help with housing. My mortgage is crippling me at 8% so any extra money will be great 👍

Wigswaddis · 02/09/2023 17:39

It’s going to be a nightmare for a lot of people I think at the end of the 12 months ☹️

Mumofsoontobe5 · 02/09/2023 17:46

Thread is getting full again I’ll make a new thread later but I’m getting close to my own scan date being called up and hoping on a decision soon (positive I hope) so will need to pass the reins over for the thread after that as I’ve had my new bubs now too so won’t be following due to a lack of time
