Does anyone know if they still have a weekend team doing backlog of claims? as the wait time seems to be getting worse I’d have thought this “overflow” team would reduce the waiting times tbh

id be shocked if they have by how long it is taking. Also I don’t see anyone getting phone calls from decision maker anymore but who knows

3mummy3 · 07/08/2023 16:44

Scan date 9th may.I received a text message this afternoon to say they are still looking at claim, it's the 2nd one I have got in 3 weeks. If I'm getting texts does that mean they'll send me a text when they have made a decision?

Ch86 · 07/08/2023 17:21

So glad a new thread has appeared.. scan date 24/5, had a letter and a text so far, so I'm just following x

Hello @Mumofsoontobe5 hopefully we'll get a decision end of August.it would be better before but don't think that'll happen. @Ch86 yeah I'm just following too but never had texts when claimed previously.

Mumofsoontobe5 · 07/08/2023 18:34

@3mummy3 this is the first time I’ve claimed and had multiple text messages (prior claims never received more than 1) I got one today too that’s 4 in total (I have 2 claims in) so assuming scan dates link up with when texts are sent out I was hoping to hear by 22/08 but not holding out hope I’m not going to call until the 1st week of September if I haven’t heard by then it’s a shame it’s taking so long though I just had to replace a smashed up bathroom light switches and plug sockets and repair my intercom due to a major meltdown from my teenager, my younger son who’s brain damaged is missing out on his activities that stop the sensory seeking at home so sleep is near non existent at the mo and I’m due this baby anytime (thank god I’m on mat leave) so a lot going on where the funds would really help I’ve learned to never miss the renewal period again 🫣

@Mumofsoontobe5 must be really hard for you hope your OK. It more difficult sometimes to keep track of things especially when you have more than one child with more needs, how late was renewal? Did you have to do a new claim?my youngest is on dla I reckon they'll send me the renewal soon..someone I know sent their renewal a week before renewal date and only took a week, she manages it every time if I was to do that I definitely wouldn't get a response that quickly haha. This one I'm waiting for is new claim for dd to be honest should have tried years ago but didn't... last year I did as got worse but it was declined and then it got really bad so have tried again i was told it is because she has no learning disability diagnosis that's why she got declined last year. she is going to a another school through medical referral, so I think if declined this time they will help with MR.

Emma1620 · 07/08/2023 20:57

Hi I rang today, will be 15 weeks on Wed (new claim) was told I should have a decision by end of next week

LittleOwl153 · 07/08/2023 21:02

What are people meaning by scan dates? Are you getting this info by letter or email? I'm on renewal waiting... but don't recall ever getting these dates before!

Ah1993 · 07/08/2023 21:10

@LittleOwl153 I think it’s the date it was scanned on to the dla system mine was 03/05 I rang last week and they’re saying 18week wait times I’m on week 14 now

LittleOwl153 · 07/08/2023 21:43

@Ah1993 so you are getting these scanned dates etc by ringing? That would explain why I haven't seen them for ours before.

Ah1993 · 07/08/2023 21:53

@LittleOwl153 yeah if you ring they will tell you date it was scanned xx

I got a letter with a date stamped on it, after about 4/5 weeks. It didn't use the words "scan date" but I'm assuming that is what it is. This is a new claim though, not a renewal.

@Mumofsoontobe5 thank you for the new thread.

Muminboys · 08/08/2023 10:12

i have 2 claims in for both my boys 3&5. Scan date 10/05 so looks like I have a long wait. Feels like forever, the waiting is unbearable

sarahxdx · 08/08/2023 11:15

Hi my scan date was 23/05 I rang up yesterday because I haven’t even received any letters, text ect I actually posted the form on 11/05,and they told me it’s a 26 week waiting time and I should hear about a decision last week of November 😕.
Has anyone else been told this because I’ve gone through the threads and most people are saying 15/16 weeks. Thanks x

it was the first time I applied for DLA and got awarded straight sets

Muminboys · 08/08/2023 14:02

@Weenie1993 congratulations! Well done you must be so relieved

Mommyof42023 · 08/08/2023 14:09

our scan date it 25/04 and I rang yesterday as 15 weeks today and they advised another 1-2 weeks for absolutely everything crossed for him! Undiagnosed adhd and trates of asd it’s such a long haul for everything and the wait times for these children are outrageous!!

Smigger123 · 08/08/2023 14:52

@Weenie1993 that's brilliant news I'm really happy for you! Fingers crossed I hear something soon 🙏

Livelaughlovemum · 08/08/2023 15:22

@Weenie1993 thats great news my scan date was 17th April so fingers crossed I hear from them this week 🤞

Mumofsoontobe5 · 08/08/2023 17:17

@3mummy3 I didn’t know until the claim stopped that it was up for renewal claim ended in March got paperwork April sent back paperwork end of April I was going through a lot at that time tbh so I could have received the paperwork and binned it 😬 as I still haven’t found it I had to have a wisdom tooth removed as it gave me sepsis this was Feb I was in agony couldn’t eat or drink for well over a week ended up in A&E from it and 5 lots of antibiotics then my blood test showed sepsis and my unplanned pill pregnancy 😂 while I was at putting my eldest sons new claim in I put my younger sons one in as it’s the first time claiming for him I was going to do it as he turned 5 but I felt his needs weren’t too bad but that was basing it on my eldest and his current behavioural issues and needs required and I realised their needs aren’t too dissimilar basing them at similar ages although their diagnosis’ are incredibly different
