Scan date 5/5
I’ve been fallowing for months and found this thread a great help.

finally after 17weeks we have been successfully awarded high rate care, low rate mobility.
called this morning and was told went to DM yesterday and should hear next week! 2 hours later had a text saying he qualifies. Can’t believe it over the moon, could cry Xxx

Congratulations, have been hoping for something today but looks like next week now, fingers crossed I get the outcome we need!

Just spent over an hour on hold and spoke to a lovely lady.

Scan date 2/06, new claim, i called to check if it's still ok to send extra information. Was told about the 18 week wait, which is apparently the current deadline. I was told my claim is in the 2nd holding queue - so they will be working on current batch (probably end of April begining of May), then the next batch and then me.
They are working through weekends now too to deal with backlog.

An interesting fact though - if you are sending a claim or additional information, make sure you sent it signed for, that way it gets scanned straight away! Otherwise it can sit on the pile for 2 weeks.

Hope that helps x

Oh no - I hope mine will get there before the deadline. I sent it on 30th and the deadline is 6th. I didn’t send it recorded delivery so hoping it doesn’t sit there so long that it looks like it’s arrived late 😣 anyone else sent it normal freepost and still been ok with the scan date being fairly soon after posting?

Calypsomum · 01/09/2023 19:41

Sent my form off 4 weeks ago and they are still saying they've not got it. Recommended I send again 😩😩😩 I put my heart and soul into that form, it literally took a month to put together. So deflated. I will send again, but it'll add yet another month onto the wait time which I know is already 18 weeks 😩

Anyone from 25 may scan date (or near) heard anything yet for new claims? When I called last week they said end of September/October now 😭

There’s been a couple I’ve seen between 19th May and the end but not many at all. We are 14th June and looking at mid October

Hopefully not too long for you, it’s horrible isn’t it?! The mental breakdowns we all have as parents to support our children and they don’t just have enough staff for it all 😭

AylinSengul · 01/09/2023 22:26

@Chocolateandstrawberries can I ask how old your son is currently mine is 11 and I’m waiting on his renewal outcome. Thanks x

zoeybrooks45 · 01/09/2023 22:39

You’re close to my scan date 13/06. Just another 4/6 weeks of torture. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end x

LaurenL92 · 02/09/2023 01:31

They received my form on 30/5/23 and I rang today and not been looked at yet they said I should hear end of September/beginning of October they are taking 17 weeks at the moment!

Missmimi20 · 02/09/2023 01:33

many seem to get 2 of those texts then a decision a few weeks after the second. we got our second text 1st August and our decision was made on the 28th at exactly 17 weeks (new claim)

I’m 31/05 may had two texts saying their still reviewing not chased them for this claim as I’ve just gone off the thread what people have said looking st end of September beginning of October really which seems ages away now x

Arthurnewyorkcity · 02/09/2023 07:23

I sent my form 22nd June and not had any 'we've received this' message or text. Anyone else in the same boat who didn't receive anything? Every time I ring, I go through all the chatter then the phone line cuts out!

zoeybrooks45 · 02/09/2023 07:50

I receive two letters one with scan date and another early august saying they are still looking at my claim. Then I received a text message 21/08 saying they are still looking and not to call. If you’ve got you’re scan date letter then it’s fine, otherwise I will call to make sure they have received it.

Yeah, me too. Going to ring on the 15 week mark as some people have been lucky and awarded sooner. But will just have to wait it out otherwise.

It’s actually so hard not to phone all the time especially when our children need the help the wait lists for everythinf is just beyond now it’s ridiculous I wouldn’t have even applied unless my portage worker told me I have a son who already gets dla for physical disability but the new claim is for a son who is awaiting autism screening so maybe won’t get anything I don’t know we will see x

I totally agree. My 3 year old is non verbal and awaiting autism diagnosis but it was also our portage worker who said to apply.
the waiting list for speech and language is ridiculous so if we get awarded the backpay will go straight to a course of SLT and hope for the best 🥺 we should really have the access though sooner and not have to rely on private services. Hope you hear soon too x

It’s a nightmare isn’t it my little boy is 4 next week he’s already been told he can not attend school nursery full time
because they can’t staff him his needs he has just been awarded inclusion funding so hopefully this helps I am lucky that he is verbal (not to where he should be but he can communicate) I struggle with eating things he should runs into roads melt down after meltdown toilet training is a living nightmare and the wait time for autism is 3 years where I am! So yes I’m the same any backdate will
hopefu Go towards any private help for
him

i will
update the thread as soon as I hear anything x

Not yet 😬🤞🏻
anyone before the 9th heard anything?

StephJB1 · 02/09/2023 10:00

Scan date: 22/05

Called yesterday after being on the phone for over one hour.

I was told it hasn’t even gone through to the decision maker and probably won’t until end of Sept then would have to wait another 2 weeks for a decision.

I understand the backlog but employee addition staff or change the waiting duration on the letters.

This is ridiculous.
