That doesn’t sound right, surely you should get your award in the next 2 weeks. They are very inconsistent, I would just count 16/18 weeks from scan date and rely on that.

Chels2020 · 01/09/2023 11:50

You have to post it in someone has shared the address further down the thread :)!

Mydogisamentalist · 01/09/2023 11:50

@AylinSengul I haven’t read the last few messages so I’m not sure if that’s directed at me.

If it helps though her award was due to end 22nd September. I really hope you’re not waiting too much longer for the decision and you get great news.

Hanhan88 · 01/09/2023 11:51

I'm also the 3rd of may and seen claims from the 4th and 5th been awarded. Mine went to a decision maker last week Tuesday and called yesterday afternoon to be told no decision made yet and just wait I was thinking the decision maker would have it for around a week max but clearly not the case would have had it for ten days today so hoping it won't be too long now.

You have to send via post. This is the address I recently sent mines to. I would advise send 1st class tracked, include reference, child name and DOB.

I have come across this organisation, do you think it would be possible to try to apply for this award based on child being to distressed outside and deaf? It’s such a strict guidelines so I wanted to know if there is any exception. As I attend quite a few appointments and therapies aswell.

Definitely apply, worst they can do is say no. Basically if you have to provide extra care for your child than the average family/child does, then in theory you are eligible. When you complete the form focus on everything you do in a day even if it seems small because sometimes we downplay what we do as parents because it’s just normal to us. Ring and request a form rather than print it as you’ll be eligible for back pay from the date you rang instead of the date the form is received (as long as you return it within 6 weeks)

I know, 18 weeks is the week after next for me. Not the end of September/October. I think they say that as they can’t promise you an exact date

My scan date is 22/5 I have been awarded and money is in my account. I spoke to someone Tuesday who said it was with a case worker since last Thursday and people were saying that’s different to decision maker however, checking my bank today its been paid. No text no nothing and no idea on rate. But just wanted to update. I did send an awful lot of information I don’t know if that made a difference x

Is yours a new claim mine is 24/5 they saying 3 weeks still xx

Mumtotwoboys121 · 01/09/2023 13:32

I don’t think I’m going to call them until 15 weeks exactly seeing as some people are getting claims approved sooner. Week 11 for me atm

Hanhan88 · 01/09/2023 13:50

Let me know what they tell you every one says different things...

He said today now don't expect to hear till end of second week in September 🥴

Beebee28 · 01/09/2023 13:53

I’ve been reading threads on post I sent claim form on the 19th May received a letter on the 9th June saying that had received my claim on the 26th may and it would take up to 15 weeks I did further receive another letter in July saying it’s still being looked at it and then a further 2 texts in august to say it’s still being looked at, haven’t even bothered to call as can’t be dealing with rude people ok the phone and I get that when I try and call UC, after reading the thread though I’ve got a feeling it could be up to another months wait if it’s only at the start of may. Good luck to everyone it is such a stressful time as we could of waited all this time to be rejected my son has been on waiting list for mental health for nearly 2 years and often makes threats to kill me and himself I work part time during school but during home time I can’t leave him on his own and he has started walking around the house either knives, suspected adhd and autism still isn’t fully toilet trained as he refuses and melt downs involve throwing himself around screaming and swearing at me, can’t be trusted to be outside on his own as he will just wonder off and has no sense of danger.! Also has learning disability and is on the SEN register at school! Also I find because we hasn’t been diagnosed there is no support during school holidays and honestly with this stress and looking after him and my other children and working I’m exhausted 😂

Scan date 5/5.

Spoke to them today. Just gone to a decision maker yesterday. Said they should have an answer by mid next week.

Finally! Got my fingers tightly crossed, feeling very nervous now.

Same scan date, hopefully hear something next week then!!

almightyfroggie · 01/09/2023 14:36

Just spent over an hour on hold and spoke to a lovely lady.

Scan date 2/06, new claim, i called to check if it's still ok to send extra information. Was told about the 18 week wait, which is apparently the current deadline. I was told my claim is in the 2nd holding queue - so they will be working on current batch (probably end of April begining of May), then the next batch and then me.
They are working through weekends now too to deal with backlog.

An interesting fact though - if you are sending a claim or additional information, make sure you sent it signed for, that way it gets scanned straight away! Otherwise it can sit on the pile for 2 weeks.

Hope that helps x
