DLA Wait Times Part 8 (2023)

It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

I posted in an old thread by accident. How are people finding the wait times? I’m on exactly 13 weeks (scan date 28th). I’m not that hopeful. My son has ADHD and is quite the handful but I don’t think I have properly expressed this in the form. I will Appeal though if we don’t get it. I have school reports and diagnosis which I have sent etc . Hope people get the result they want.

These threads have been invaluable...posted our claim on 28/12, so know I have a wait ahead, but DS dual diagnosed with ASD and ADHD on 1st Nov (with work, waiting for the report, etc.) took a while to get the form done. School teachers from yr3 & Reception and yr2 & yr1 did the professionals who know him section (he's yr3 now) and I sent his assessment report from the ND team; so fingers x for mobility and care components.

Haven't received anything to say they have it, but I sent it as to be signed for, etc. and still have the receipt...tried calling other day, was on phone 40 mins & didn't get through, so gave up. I've asked UC to back date Disabled Child element already tho (if he's awarded) as we get a small monthly amount & childcare for AS Club. Would like to know the scan tho date as reckon it will be early Jan as sent 28/12. Someone said it used to take 5-6 weeks, which would be much better, so seems like they need more staff as prob more people applying due to awareness raising of hidden disabilities and ASD, etc., so higher volume of applications to get thru.

Yeah the turnaround was fairly quick, I’d say 6/8 weeks but then covid hit and everything went crazy, I’m waiting on renewal which they aren’t even looking at until a couple of weeks before due to end.

@Vikmomof3.. no news yet, still with DM yesterday when I rang. I have seen some people be awarded on the weekend having received a txt?

Covid has slowed up everything definitely.

I'm 31st too hope it's not much longer fingers crossed it's not a decline x

Is anyone else starting to feel less hopeful the closer it gets? Don't mean to be negative, but I'm bracing for a decline now.

Yeah, I don't think it's the length of time making me feel like this. I'm 13 weeks next Wednesday so not technically 'overdue' yet anyway.

I think it's just that I keep feeling like I've filled in the form all wrong and haven't made things clear enough. It's such a brutal form to fill in. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to deal with whatever happens.

When I called Friday they told me they are on end of October my scan date was 17/11 he said I should get a text with decision in two weeks then call back up find out information

@VickieC86 I think you will be waiting abit longer than 2weeks tbh.. there are around the 24th/26th and can be with the DM for over a week. Good luck.

No, sorry. I seem to remember from the last thread that you did an MR? Is that what you mean, or is an appeal something further? Sorry, I don't really know the process.

Just going on what I was told by them that they was on end of October would be starting November this week
