It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

Wow that was hard work she wouldn’t say if it was with a dm just that it was with the managers team 🙄 I did mention more evidence which she said she will make a note of. Also she said give them another 2 weeks to make a decision 😩 would they say this if it was a no?

Girlmum11 · 30/01/2023 15:09

@Christinaja thank you 😘

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/01/2023 15:15

It’s nerve wracking and stressful but going to try to put it to the back of my mind for a few weeks.

Girlmum11 · 30/01/2023 15:31

@Snickerdoodles19 i have been trying for a few weeks but I feel like it’s taken over my brain now 🤣🙈 I barely slept all weekend it’s bad!

Christinaja · 30/01/2023 15:32

@Girlmum11 managers team is the DM

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/01/2023 15:34

I can’t believe how long it takes now, it used to be 6/8 weeks

Rainbow1600 · 30/01/2023 15:39

I'm 13 weeks today not with dm yet but people being awarded from November I'm 31st October

Girlmum11 · 30/01/2023 15:42

@Christinaja thanks for clearing that up 🥰

Christinaja · 30/01/2023 15:45

@Girlmum11 no problem they said the same to me the other day so I asked what that ment and she said it the DM. Hopefully not much longer for you now. Mine has been with DM since Tuesday/Wednesday 🥺

Girlmum11 · 30/01/2023 15:52

@Christinaja i can’t believe it’s been that long! The longer it takes the worse you feel. Wish I could stop obsessing about it 🤣

tourettesadhdmum · 30/01/2023 15:59

i rang today as i needed to update them on something but won’t have the updated report from school back before the decision is made so she’s updated my DD claim and said i’ll have a decision in 3-4weeks we’re currently on week 10 scan dates 22/11

Jeez. Won't another two weeks take you to about 16 weeks? I really hope it's quicker than that for you.

Where are you seeing people being awarded from November, if you don't mind me asking?

@Snickerdoodles19 its very different to dla and I was worried as I’ve heard the horror stories, also with a lot of the issues being long standing didn’t have up to date evidence. I sent the form off on 16/11, requested a paper assessment, gave consent to medical records so sent no evidence. All I would say is be prepared as soon as child turns 16, and look online, go to CAB when filling the forms in, you have say what your saying the correct way to get the points needed.

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/01/2023 16:22

@Nothighgaprequired thank you, when you say up to date evidence is it a certain time frame they want? Sorry but does the paper assessment mean? When you get the letter asking about if you want to switch over to pip can you say no?

Girlmum11 · 30/01/2023 16:25

@gingergingerginger yes it will. It was weird she asked me some questions then said hang on a minute & went away for a bit at which point I was thinking oh god this is a declined & she’s asking if she can tell me but then she came back saying it’s with a case manager & if I can give them another 2 weeks. I then asked if it was to late to send more evidence as I had a plan through from school finally & she said yes when can you send it to us & I said I’d send it first thing tomorrow via recorded & she said great I’ll make a note of that & send it over.

gingergingerginger · 30/01/2023 16:32

@Girlmum11 I just can't fathom why this stuff can't be done online. It's such an inefficient and old-fashioned way of doing things.

I've got everything crossed for you.

Nothighgaprequired · 30/01/2023 16:39

@Snickerdoodles19 when you/they apply for pip you usually need an assessment face to face, have to answer questions and do tasks, if you child would have issues you can ask for paper based, like dla is. You have to apply to be your child appointee if they can’t manage money as pip would go to them and they would have to do the paperwork once 16. You can’t say no, dla isn’t available for 16 plus. Evidence wise, they don’t ask for a date range, but for example your child might have been diagnosed for 10 years when they’re 16 so there may not be much to send. Also the school evidence isn’t renewed every year once in high school like it is in primary.

Christinaja · 30/01/2023 16:40

@Girlmum11 it only been playing on my mind since week 12 and I can't stop thinking about the decision 🤣

WreckTangled · 30/01/2023 16:41

Chaz5rascals · 30/01/2023 12:48

@WreckTangled week 11 here too! Without being rude do you mind telling me a little about the private assessment you had done? 😊

Not nosey at all. I had a private OT assessment and private SALT. NHS OT declined a referral and SALT won’t see selective mutism in our area.

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/01/2023 16:51

@Nothighgaprequired yeah that’s the problem with school now as my son is at a a specialist school now and he receives all of his help in house now and through his EHCP, he’s still under the hospital but rarely goes, I think what I meant was when he gets to the point when he’s nearly 16 and they send a letter about pip is there the option to not claim it? So my eldest son just had his renewed now for the next 5 years which would take him to 17, my question would be is that would they ask me if I wanted him to move over to pip?

Keepgoing88 · 30/01/2023 16:53

Just wanted to update this thread. Claim submitted 28th oct and today I was awarded MRC and LRM for my son who has ADHD. am so pleased I really thought I would be lucky to just get LRC alone and had convinced myself the likelihood I would get nothing so this is massive for us

gingergingerginger · 30/01/2023 17:01

So pleased for you @Keepgoing88 . Was 28/10 your scan date, or when you sent it off?
