Thought I'd continue the thread as it had reached its limit.

My application will be awhile before any response but scanned 5 July and nothing yet.

OP posts:

Honestly what is taking them so long? On my group there are people losing carers allowance because the renewal hadn't come through they lost carers allowance carers element the uc uplift of course then they have to start job hunting and yet still take care of a child on a reduced income im considering going back in to work and struggling with that rather than rely on my carers allowance but then who looks after ds? He won't toilet in school for one so I'm called to remove him just how?

ZGB · 31/08/2022 10:28

@Charlenecmp I've just called and have been awarded 😊 xx
For others info - scan date 30th May for a new claim. Hang on in there guys, it's a looong drag waiting I know - best wishes to all xx

Leah041196 · 31/08/2022 11:27

Scan date 16th June just came off the phone and they have said still a few more weeks, not even with the decision maker yet :(

MyKidsMyLife84 · 31/08/2022 12:13

My son got awarded payment showing for tomorrow high care and low mobility. Scan date 6th June. I am so happy and so relieved.

Mumto4feelslike44 · 31/08/2022 18:13

I would wait until you get back but hopefully good news will be waiting for you when your home

3Angelz · 31/08/2022 22:50

Hey 🙋🏻‍♀️
Can I wait with you all too 🙃
My scan day is 28th July, so I know it's going to be a long one 😊.

Mumto4feelslike44 · 01/09/2022 11:04

So when the lady rung me the other day and said it’s with the decision maker she didn’t give any signs always at all she was quite stern told me not to ring again and I would receive a letter in the next 10 days. Can’t help but think the way she was it’s bad news anyone else got that feeling from speaking to them or is it just me overthinking haha 🤦🏻‍♀️

MyKidsMyLife84 · 01/09/2022 14:54

Call them again @Mumto4feelslike44 my son was awarded 27th and were the same scan date, backdate went in today xx

Mumto4feelslike44 · 01/09/2022 15:23

I’m scared to ring again now she was a bit of a dragon haha told me not to phone again wouldn’t mind I’ve only rang them twice

MyKidsMyLife84 · 01/09/2022 22:59

I rang every week from 8 weeks. I rang just before my holiday to say I would be away and she said it would be 4 weeks, but it was done a day later but obviously didn't get a text so I rang Wednesday this week and while I was in the queue, I checked my bank and it showed a pending payment for next day. I hope you get good news for your child. I really thought I was going to get declined, but I was very very detailed and to the point in the form. I wrote diaries of a school day, a school refusal day, weekend day and a school holiday day. I also sent letters from my family members, school and my family support workers details. I fought for my son and it paid off.

Mumto4feelslike44 · 02/09/2022 10:05

Phoned this morning he has been declined does anyone know what the process is now as I’m defo appealing. TIA

Kage87 · 02/09/2022 12:20

@Mumto4feelslike44 sorry to hear that I think you have to ring and ask them for reasons then you can apply for mr and throw any evidence however small back into it. I understand your frustration as its an awful process anyway. I'm starting to dred results as seems so many are being declined, I don't know if I have it in me to apply but my son needs it to get funds for a larger adapted pushchair.

Mumto4feelslike44 · 02/09/2022 12:44

Thank you for your reply I’m going to wait for the letter and gather as much evidence as possible I have some forms that school have filled in for cahms should I put those in as well.

Kage87 · 02/09/2022 13:58

Yea I would but anything in any reports even emails to the school or gp appointments anything. If they have everything that give them full picture, I'm already collecting more things incase I have to do the MR. If any slight changes or anything your not sure you put down. I read somewhere that have to put 'why' child needs more support than average child their age,

Mumto4feelslike44 · 02/09/2022 14:24

Thanks love I will put it all in it’s so hard gathering evidence when your waiting on camhs to do assessments and don’t have a full diagnosis isn’t it

Kage87 · 02/09/2022 14:55

Yea I hate it for my ds we waiting of paeds, salts, neurology, physio, audiologist and opthalmologist. I know I diagnosis would not change but it's common sense of ... he can't walk ... here's the physio evidence to support this.( but have nothing) i even put absent record from school for time off he had and reason. Then to be filling out the forms of 'the bad day' and detailing everything it's heart breaking, no one wants to thing badly of their children and i just feel like everything you put down is a complaint. And as for then getting declined it's a case of ... excuse me !! How rude!! ... but we wait.

Oilytoe90 · 02/09/2022 17:38

They are currently working on claims received 1st-9th July. My scan date is 23rd July. Hopefully not much longer to wait.

Stead05 · 02/09/2022 18:37

@Mumto4feelslike44 sorry to hear it was declined! Hopefully you can appeal. What was your scan date?

Stead05 · 02/09/2022 18:40

@Oilytoe90 It must be different depending where you live. I called on Tuesday and they said they were working on claims received 8th June. Our scan date was 15th June so still waiting…

Mumto4feelslike44 · 02/09/2022 18:40

Scan date was 6th June

Mumto4feelslike44 · 02/09/2022 18:43

It’s a constant battle for everything battle to
get them the diagnosis battle for dla. I didn’t even know I could claim dla for a child the doctor told me to apply for it. Wishing he hadn’t mentioned it now haha

We are 10th June so hopefully not to much longer x

Shannon26 · 04/09/2022 16:39

Does anyone know if you get a higher disabled child element on uc if your child receives hrc? If so how long does it take to adjust onto uc? X
