do you know anything we don't pupuce?

mears · 13/01/2005 15:05

hmmm....

Frizbe · 13/01/2005 18:13

does anyone know?

Spacecadet · 13/01/2005 21:30

Maybe she opted to stay longer, when I had dd2 I chose to stay in 2 nights as I didnt fancy going home to 3 kids and housework!!!!!Every time the midwives walked past my bed, they would say, "oh yes this lady has had baby number FOUR!! AND IS STAYING ANOTHER NIGHT!!!!! as if to say GO HOME!! YOU MALINGERER!!!!!

pupuce · 13/01/2005 21:40

I don't know but someone induced on Monday morning (even if prostin didn't work at 1st go) should really have had her baby by Tuesday evening latest.... so either
it ended in section
it ended with complication and either mum or baby needs extra care
she has totally got amnesia and forgot about Mumsnet

Feel number 1 is likely.... I have known women who didn't succeed inductions (short cords,...) babies got very distressed and had sections.... sometimes when several sweeps lead to nothing... then maybe the induction would not work either as something was amiss.... and section was inevitable.

I guess we have to wait !

Spacecadet · 13/01/2005 21:46

My first induction( with ds1) didnt work I was taken up at lunchtime monday and I still hadnt gone into labour by tuesday evening, the consultant came to see me and said sorry your cervix hasnt even softened so I was booked for c-section in the morning, however just half an hour after he walked away, my waters broke and ds was born two and a half hours later!!!

pupuce · 13/01/2005 21:53

In that scenario.... she'd be home by now!
A colleague doula had a client like that.... 2 bags of syntocynon and NO contraction at all, she was queuing for theater..... and got a bit of chat from her doula (a bit like: why don't you want this baby to be born?).... contractions FINALLY started... baby born 1 hour later !!!

Spacecadet · 13/01/2005 22:18

maybe thats what happened with my ds of sorts!! the dictor said c-section and he thought no way!! im coming out of my own accord!!

Spacecadet · 13/01/2005 22:19

dictor!!?? meant to say doctor.
