good luck mosschops, if you have to be induced tomorrow its not so bad, I was induced with all but one of my 4 children and with the last one labour started after just one prost gel and she was born an hour later with no pain relief and no stitches...hope all goes well.

mosschops lactulose is fine in preg, I had to take it a lot unfortunately in my pregs. The midwives told me that that the induction usually works really quickly if the cervix is nice and ripe, if your midwife could just get a finger inside your cervix after your sweep, thats a good sign. With my ds2 I had 2 lots of gel before I went into labour and then again it was very quick( under 3 hours).I look forward to reading your birth announcement!

Spacecadet · 09/01/2005 20:19

you may even find that you have dilated a couple of centimetres when you arrive tomorrow, with ds2 I had when I arrived for induction, I remember the midwife telling me that she could touch his head when she inserted the gel!

Good Luck!

marthamoo · 10/01/2005 13:51

Ooh - wonder how she's doing now?

Frizbe · 10/01/2005 19:04

fingers crossed all has gone well and bump has popped out in 1hr flat (in the land of dream labours!)

marthamoo · 10/01/2005 19:06

The waiting is agonising - feel like I should be pacing a hospital corridor with a cigar.

Frizbe · 10/01/2005 22:34

she's probably on Tea n Toast by now!

catsnkids · 10/01/2005 22:37

just clicked on to see if there was any news. I had a sweep today am due on sat but booked in to be induced on20th Jan.I always had ovaltine can't stand the stuff usually and only ever drink it after i have delivered and on the ward at night as a bedtime drink.

Frizbe · 11/01/2005 09:32

oh no news is good news!

Frizbe · 11/01/2005 22:56

oooh still no news!

pupuce · 11/01/2005 22:58

Well I think if we haven't heard by now it may well be a caesarean (longer stay in hospital)....... unless Mosschops is so happy that she has forgotten all about Mumsnet!

JanH · 11/01/2005 22:59

oooooh, good luck, mosschops - hope the babe has arrived by now!

mears · 11/01/2005 23:06

Could be that she needed more than one dose of prostin. It is not uncommon to go in for induction and find the gel doesn't work first dose. Doses are repeated usually a minimum of 6 hours apart. Sometimes after 2 doses they wait another day and start again.

pupuce · 11/01/2005 23:08

mears.... we'll see.....

Frizbe · 11/01/2005 23:20

could be she's decided to stay in! I know a few people who have opted for that for a few days rather than come home (me personally was straight out the door again, I'd gone off the delivery suite if they let me! but they insisted I get in the wheelchair, take the baby, which hubby was cooing over, not carry the bags and go to the ward...)

Frizbe · 12/01/2005 17:02

ooooooo still no news?

gish · 12/01/2005 17:14

hope all is well and she is just babymooning!

pupuce · 12/01/2005 17:40

....hmmmm......
