How far along where you when you had your first?

I'm 29+3 with my first child and keep getting told I'm more likely to go overdue. I'd rather not, as I'd really prefer not to be induced. I was just wondering what sorts of stages people on here were at when they went into labour with their first?

37+1 with DD1
40+2 with DD2

Brandnewmamma · 07/10/2013 11:12

41 weeks exactly

TheFabulousIdiot · 07/10/2013 11:12

41 +3 I think - or 4?

BaronessBomburst · 07/10/2013 11:13

40+11 and was induced.

moogalicious · 07/10/2013 11:15

40 + 10 (I think). The day before I was due to be induced.

Poosnu · 07/10/2013 11:43

40 + 5

ThedementedPenguin · 07/10/2013 11:46

40+11 and was induced.

Honestly I was scared about induction, however my experience was very positive. Not all inductions are awful.

EdwiniasRevenge · 07/10/2013 11:46

26+6

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 07/10/2013 11:49

Induced at 40 weeks, born at 40+1 (well an hour and a half into the day so just fashionably late really!)

Induction was great...

Bloodsocks · 07/10/2013 11:51

40+11, 2 days before my booked induction.

Locketjuice · 07/10/2013 11:51

40+4 ds
40+1 dd

therumoursaretrue · 07/10/2013 12:04

37+6 I was supposed to be induced anytime from 37 weeks for medical reasons but they kept putting it off as told me I would go overdue and of course I didn't!

ConfusedandDazed24 · 07/10/2013 12:05

39+1. All of my friends have been overdue and needed to be induced so all along I figured that one of us would buck the trend!

phantomhairpuller · 07/10/2013 12:06

39+2 with ds1
40+11 with ds2

Sunnysummer · 07/10/2013 12:07

37 weeks by official dates, just over 36 by ovulation testing and scan dates (as the difference was only a week they said not to change the official date). Everyone said first borns come late, plus I was measuring small and felt great - so hadn't started maternity leave and was totally unprepared!

elcranko · 07/10/2013 12:23

40+12 (induced)

ThePequod · 07/10/2013 12:29

I was the magic 40+0! DH and I are both very punctual so we were pleased that LO was following in our footsteps from such an early age Grin

DS1:

Contractions started on Wednesday (39+5), around 1 in every 30-60 minutes. Then on Friday (40 weeks) (contractions every 10 minutes at this point) I felt like something was seriously wrong as I wasn't feeling well, the midwives did a urine test and I had 4+signs of protein. Was rushed straight to hospital, where they saw I was 4cm dilated and having contractions every 5 minutes. They said as long as I was monitored, I could still have a normal delivery. DS1 was born the next day (40+1) at 19:10 :)

DS2:

From approx the beginning of week 39 I was having really bad headaches. Went in on the Saturday (39+4) and was given a blood test and urine test. Both found protein. Went back in on the Monday (39+6), had the same test again, and found twice as much protein. Was admitted to hospital to be induced. I was meant to be induced on Tuesday (Due date), except the labour ward was too busy. I also started having contractions on the Tuesday- about one every few hours. Wednesday comes (40+1), the labour ward is still too busy and my contractions are every hour. They are monitoring me and say my condition is still stable. That afternoon at 5pm they say I can now be induced- contractions are every 30 minutes. Before being induced (by braking my waters) they tell me I am already 4cm dilated :) They brake my waters at 6pm, and DS2 was born naturally at 02:01 on Thursday (40+2)

For both labours, I was only on gas and air until 10cm. I was standing up and walking around most of the time. When it was time to push with both babies they said my contractions were not fast enough so I had to have an epidural and a drip :(

MadBannersAndCopPorn · 07/10/2013 12:33

39+4 DD1

PicnicPie · 07/10/2013 12:33

38+6

MakeHayIsAWhaleNow · 07/10/2013 12:39

40+13 with dd
40+15 with ds - induced (and both emcs).

Wouldn't recommend going to late, especially given that I was having evening contractions for a week before ds and therefore going slightly mad... My mindset is focused on going 2 weeks over with this one as clearly I cook 'em well! (Although The Vbac Discussion is still to be had).

SaltySeaBird · 07/10/2013 12:47

Induced at 39+1 (diabetic), arrived at 39+4. It was a long labour.

nappyaddict · 07/10/2013 12:48

38+1. I lost my hind waters a few days before so they induced me.

Squitten · 07/10/2013 12:52

DC1 - 41wks exactly: undiagnosed breech so that could have slowed things down a bit!

DC2 - 40wks exactly
