Childbirth

How far along where you when you had your first?

I'm 29+3 with my first child and keep getting told I'm more likely to go overdue. I'd rather not, as I'd really prefer not to be induced. I was just wondering what sorts of stages people on here were at when they went into labour with their first?

Average for first labour is 40+3. That doesn't count as overdue, medically. "Post-mature" is 42w+.

DC1, waters broke at 40+4, induced at 40+5, born at 40+6.
DC2, due date.
DC3 --- tbc. He'll be "on time" from Sunday.

I don't see how you can predict whether you're going to be overdue at all by the way, despite what you've been told. I've heard it said that it is 'more likely' that a first baby will be late but it's hardly an exact science.

Dd1 39+5
Dd2 34 emer section due to haemorrhage from grade 4 placenta praevia

Dont worry about being over due. Who told u that ur likely to go overdue? Noone can tell that early on if ur gonni be overdue.

I was told that the forty weeks is based on a 28 day cycle, so if you are a 31 day kinda girl you will have longer pregnancies.

Dd 1 - 38wks
Ds1 - 40 weeks
Ds2 - 41+6

Perhaps worth noting that by the time i had my last baby, my cycle had stretched out to 33 days. First baby it was 28 days.

39 + 2. I hated being pregnant and tried every home remedy I could find to get him out asap! when he then obligingly arrived 5 before his due date I felt guilty as hell for evicting him early! Hmm

Ds was born at 32 weeks exactly. Had stuff to stop him at 28 weeks and at 31+6 but that didn't work as I was already 3cm dilated. I had irregular "tightenings" for most of my pregnancy and bump dropped and back pressure started a week before labour

DD1 arrived at 35 weeks exactly.

DD2 39 weeks exactly.

DD3 39+5.

40 wks exactly with dc1. Waters went at 5.30am, born at 12.30pm

39 wks with dc2 a couple of twinges then waters broke t 4 pm and dc2 born at 4.40ish, no one looked t the clock so don't have an exact time.

40+4 with dc3. Waters broke to induce labour at 11.50pm and he was born at 12.15am. Midwife was convinced the baby would come early but he had other ideas lol, the only reason I was in to get induced was cos my blood pressure had gone a bit mad at my check up the day before. It had settled down by the time my waters were broken.
