I'm 29+3 with my first child and keep getting told I'm more likely to go overdue. I'd rather not, as I'd really prefer not to be induced. I was just wondering what sorts of stages people on here were at when they went into labour with their first?

I went 42 weeks and my son was born the day before i was due to be induced, i had been having bad bh for about 2 weeks before and was in labour for 3 days. Everyone told me my son would be early and he was very late! Good luck with the rest of your journey x

Draculasbride · 09/10/2013 13:12

41+1 with ds
40+4 with dd

wigwam33 · 09/10/2013 15:14

41 weeks and 6 days (avoided induction despite pressure)

Galena · 09/10/2013 16:18

27+4 - you've already made it further than me!

JamJarOfDaffs · 09/10/2013 19:20

38+2 both DCs!

I was superstitious about DC2 being born on that date and my C-section was schedule for week 39 with DC2. It had been my worst fear after a long, unpleasant labour and EMCS with DC1 to go into labour and not have time for a c-section with DC2 - but this is what happened and went wonderfully. I felt so empowered by having had a vaginal birth and no doubt the recovery was better.

I felt in both pregnancies that I would go early, don't know whey but I was pretty sure just as I knew I was pregnant both times before doing the earliest pregnancy test...Go with your instincts!

Flisspaps · 09/10/2013 21:36

40+15, induced.

Fruli · 09/10/2013 22:25

MrsHoolie · 09/10/2013 23:30

sparklechops · 10/10/2013 09:13

41 weeks exactly. A sweep helped me along.

JaffaSnaffle · 10/10/2013 10:56

DD1 38+1
DD2 38+6
Both spontaneous labour.

pinkpeony · 10/10/2013 13:01

DC1 waters broke 38+1, born the next day
DC2 waters broke 38+1, born 3 hours later

I wonder how accurate the official dates are though. I could never remember when I last had a period so I don't know if that means my dates were guesses. My scan dates came up with even earlier dates than my assumed DD.

Scarifying · 10/10/2013 13:31

DD = due date

39+4 Smile

JessieEssex · 10/10/2013 16:19

DD1 39+4, DD2 36+5

TheCountessOlenska · 10/10/2013 16:30

40 + 4

tinkytoes · 10/10/2013 17:33

40+5 induced as my water broke and contraction was not strong enough or so the midwife said. 4 hours later, little one was born with just gas and air. They had to switch the drip off half way cos I was contracting too fast. Like ThedementedPenguin said, not all inductions are bad!

Pipsmilkmaid · 10/10/2013 17:40

29+6 EMCS

BraveLilBear · 16/10/2013 09:12

Waters broke 39+6, born 40+1 after induction/augmentation

Was convinced I'd go over due to family history and the fact that the due date was 6 days earlier than I thought was possible.

Annoyingly, my induction was delayed by staffing issues, as DS would have been a royal baby had he arrived on his due date!

Scoobyblue · 16/10/2013 15:17

40 weeks exactly. Waters broke at 1 minute past midnight and dd was born at midday. All very punctual.
