Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

FloraPost · 27/09/2010 07:01

Cupcakes the answer is barely, and I don't even have DC to look after. I'm quite sure I couldn't cope with being pg and working full time and sorting out other kids. I'm in awe of anyone who does.

Hoping for a call back this morning from the midwife about this mythical MAT B1 form Hmm. Also praying not to be sick today as I have to represent a union member at a grievance appeal this afternoon so MUST NOT VOM.

CupcakesHay · 27/09/2010 14:35

flora hope the non-throwing up talk to yourself worked!

I've had a nice little morning mooching around a tiny village near my mum's and they had an M&S outlet - so i got a couple of one size bigger tops for Christmas time. And i bought some LOVELY apple green wool - as my mum's a knitter, so she's going to knit the baby some little hoody tops (he'll be a thug!) - She's doing a grey and white stripey one, a rainbow one and a beigey stone coloured one... plus new green - all in different age ranges! yay! :)

I think the JoJo dress is lovely... def worht the money. I hate spending anything over £50 on a dress i'm only likely to wear once or twice.

I have a funny rash on my arm... trying to decide if it warrants a doc's visit or not. hate to be hypochondriacal - but it's quite itchy and I'm only at my mum's for abnother 3 days - then nowhere near a doctor's for 2 months... ho hum... what to do.

RunningKatie · 27/09/2010 15:45

Cupcakes - I'd go to the Docs, just to be on the safe side whilst you can be.

Someone was tapdancing on my bladder from 2am to 4.30am today, lovely to know this is just a taster of things to come! :)

Hoping that Flora didn't throw up during the grievance meeting.

BubbaAndBump · 27/09/2010 20:19

Hey ladies :o - blinking MatB1 form still not wung (!) its way to me, so have to go back to doc's on Weds to pick it up.

Gorg. dress flora, especially the band/belt bit at the top of the bump - will make you feel slinky (well, as slinky as possible at this point in the pregnancy! :o) - I went to a wedding 8 mnths pregnant with my vast #2 and just wore a 'fat' dress and felt like a big fat cranberry all night long (it was cranberry coloured) and had to practically carry my bump. Not a pretty sight!

Busy, busy at work, but got home in time to sing lullabies to my babies, so happy today :)

I wouldn't worry too much about a rash on the arm, but worth getting it checked out, at least with a pharmacist if not a doc...

Another thumbs up for the dress flora. I really could spend so much money on fancy maternity clothes, I love them! Is just such a waste of money though isn't it...

I fully sympathise with cupcakes and ryuk on people not 'remembering' you're pregnant having been marched round London this evening for meetings by my male boss who then suggested I go on a work trip to a third world country in December - I was er have you remembered I'm having a baby in January!?

Keep us posted ryuk on the tests and well done bubba on the Matb1 form, just need to get mine sorted now....

lol at work - I was in a Senior Management meeting today and was asked if I would be in charge of something on 21st Jan - I was like "umm, no sorry, bit busy that day pushing a little human out of me!" :o Hmm :o

Hi there, Just wondering if I can join - due Jan 20th, 1st child (girl). Lots of this has struck a chord with me re. choosing buggies (trying to get Chameleon on Ebay but not attentive enough!), clothes, sleep (though appreciate it must be 10x harder with DC already) and so on. Understand if you feel the group is well established and big enough already, of course!

Am a bit fed up at the moment with small grumbles - stomach bug, insomnia, rhinitis - but also pretty excited - took a long, long time to conceive and ended up having treatment (happily successfully) so it does feel special, and DH is coming round finally and seems to be getting a bit excited (he was anti for a long time and ambivalent after that...). Anyway, hello to all and I'll wait to see if newbies are welcome before rambling on too much!

LSTx

scubamummy · 28/09/2010 10:36

Hi Levi - and welcome! the more the merrier here, I've found everyone to be really lovely and supportive.

I love the dress too flora, wish I'd seen it before! I'm going to a wedding next weekend and ended up buying a dress from asos.com's maternity clearance section - they're a bit summery so I'm hoping that the weather is fine...for the bride too, of course! Grin

Bubba i snorted tea over the keyboard at your comment!

Bit excited about my upcoming jury service next week, but worried that I'm not going to be able to go to the loo for hours on end.....anyone been on jury duty before? Are they even likely to choose me with my big ol' bump or will I be on the subs benches the whole time??!

RunningKatie · 28/09/2010 12:57

Another pregnancy brain thing today - managed to make it to the gym, getting ready to come to work, I realise I've left my skirt at home. So, ended up being 45mins late as the traffic was appalling after my detour to retrieve the skirt. Blush

New bloke started at work yesterday and was nearly murdered before hometime. He asked when I was due, so I said Jan 23rd. His response was "And you're that big already? Have you booked a c-section?" Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Welcome Levi

Bubba - good comment, I've been invited to a 30th birthday party the day before I'm due, birthday girl wasn't impressed when I said I wasn't sure we could make it. She thought it was because I felt she was stealing attention away from my birthday till I pointed out I might be a tad busy screaming a hospital down.

I've borrowed a book from the library on Hypnobirthing, going to read it properly on hols next week but so far it seems to make a lot of sense.

RunningKatie · 28/09/2010 13:02

Flora - love that dress btw. Our work Christmas do is a black tie affair so must look for something for that at some point.

FloraPost · 28/09/2010 17:46

Welcome Levi & congratulations on your little girl.

I have my MAT B1, oh yes, I have it, and I have posted it to Southeastern. No more train based sicking for me! (optimistic emoticon)

Running, new bloke at work sounds fully killable. Bit like those people at my work who STILL say when I have to make myself scarce, 'Don't worry, you'll feel better after 12 weeks.' Hmm

Jealous of your jury service, Scuba. I've never been picked but my Dad's done it 3 times. I guess whether they let you play depends on what kind of cases are coming up. Someone DP works with was a juror for one of the 7/7 bomber trials and was off work for 8 months, or something.

Off to buy the dress now! I have some fairly low electric blue ponyskin heels which I think will go with it and be comfy enough to last the whole day in even with pregnant achy back Smile.

CupcakesHay · 28/09/2010 19:16

Levi lovely that you've found us! And fab that you finally got pregnant - although poor you feeling sick!

runningk - you are soooooooo funny Grin you should have gone in without a skirt - that would have stopped the new boy making cheeky comments about your size!

Agree with you flora - i'm jealous of scuba's jury service - let's hope it's a fun case and not some dull tax evasion type thingy.

Had scan thing today - all fine... BUT they decided (afetr being up there 3 times in last 3 weeks) that i need to have glucose test done - oh, and i need it done before 28 weeks - so seeing as i'm leaving Devon on thurs, they have me going back to hospital tomorrow morning, at 8am to hopefully squeeze me in for it. My poor dad is going to have to drive me there (it's an hour away) - so not impressed... but at least I get to drag DH along for a bit of boredom too. Why can't the hospitals' have been organised enough to figure out I needed this during my last trip - i mean my BMI hasn't suddenly jumped to high over night!!! Angry

Oh, rash fine apparently.

bubba love Cranberry dress story. I think i need to hunt some more trousers in London....

CupcakesHay · 29/09/2010 17:49

Aaah - so funny at my Glucose test today. I have bad veins, so they usually end up having to try the back of my hand. Anyhow, a nurse was trying my arm, and said,"I'm going to have to call Janice as I don't do handjobs!"

GrinGrinGrin

My husband practically wet himself laughing.... and of course it's hard to get blood out of a giggler - and then there was talk of fisting and pumping which didn't help!

Anyhow... results tomorrow!

Fuzzywood · 29/09/2010 21:55

Cupcakes that's very funny, did you get lots of stern looks from the nurses? Hope the results are ok.
Welcome Levi and congratulations.
I have my fingers crossed for a quiet night as we've taken the side off DDs cot for the first time, stair gate on her door so shouldn't get any night time visits but we'll see how it goes.
Hope all is well with everyone else x

RunningKatie · 30/09/2010 13:20

Ryuk - is it today that you might find out more? Hope all is ok.

And you too cupcakes

I've had to turn down an invite to my own baby shower at work as I'm on holiday that day.

Think I need some maternity tights as wearing normal ones as hipsters is getting uncomfortable.

Got next week off work, can't wait. Grin

CupcakesHay · 01/10/2010 13:36

Gtt test came back as normal! PHEW.

Have another scan lined up for 21st Dec - as I'm a big girl - they have to check the baby's size then.

Rows with MIL about her plans for visiting - but handled it calmly, in a teacher fashion and said "you can choose to come and stay for 2 days, or choose to stay at B&B for longer or choose not to come. You need to decide".

There.

She's just so jealous of my mum! She even came out with a great line about worrying SHE wouldn't bond with her grnadchild. please!

Ryuk - any news?

And how's everyone else doing?

running surely they can reschedule your baby shower can't they? And what are you doing with your week off - apart from buying tights?

abigailemily · 03/10/2010 08:33

hello, i'm new and thought i would join this thread!

I'm due on the 20th of january, with my first! I'm a little bit scared, but excited, especially as it's suddenly got a lot closer!

I'm 23 and living in bristol at the moment, so if anyone else is in a similar situation and would like a friend to talk about all things preggers then that would be great!

Crystylline · 03/10/2010 10:29

hi all,

I'm due 21st Jan with my first and have a scan next week.

having spent the 7th night in a row getting up for the loo 3 times, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to get more than 6 hours continuous sleep ever again.

might just be my grumpy phase, but i'm so bone tired.

LadyBuzz · 03/10/2010 19:51

Hello everyone. Welcome to the recent additions, good to have you with us!

Not much to tell here, I mainly work and sleep at the moment. We need to sort DSs bedroom out so we can start on the nursery. Got a few bits and bobs and lots of ideas Smile

I had some scary news today, a friend of MILs daughter who was due a couple of weeks before me so 26/27ish weeks had her baby by EMCS this morning. Poor girl it just does not bear thinking about! heres hoping we all hold on to ours for as long as possible!!

Fuzzywood · 04/10/2010 12:50

Just checking in to say hi. Good news on the test Cupcakes.
Welcome to the new posters and congratulations.
All good here apart from sore ribs again. I don't have an assigned desk at work so have to adjust the chair virtually every day and it takes ages to get comfy which may explain the rib issue.
Hope all is well with everyone.

BubbaAndBump · 04/10/2010 21:00

hi all, just bookmarking. Busy, busy, busy at work :(

Hope the baby's okay ladybuzz?

OP posts:
CupcakesHay · 04/10/2010 22:10

God - poor her ladybuzz... is the baby ok?

Hello abigail and crystal! How's it going with you?

I'm in London and absolutely shattered after a whirlwind weekend at a wedding and eastbourne! But had fun!

Managed to find a pair of giant trousers which should do until baby here.

fuzzy can't you ask for a desk? It sounds a bit unfair that you have to spend half your morning to adjust your chair.

Bubba poor you about work- did you ever get your MatB1 form?

Baby kicked me to death last night and i think that's half the reason i'm shattered - plus emotionally drained after mini-rows with DH and MIL!

Hope all of you are ok....! :)

PS. ladybuzz hurry up with the rooms - want to see pictures!!!!

LadyBuzz · 05/10/2010 16:35

I can't wait to get the rooms sorted Grin i promise I will put the piccies on for you.
I'm having Zebra print bedding, curtains and change mat with pink fleece (SIL is making it for me!) sounds bad but is very gorgeous Grin

I'm not sure how the baby is yet, MIL is waiting for news. Baby is in neonatal intensive care, but is still fighting by the sounds of it which is promising.
I will keep you updated, My RL friend had her little girl at 29 weeks and she is just perfect, she was 3lb born and has just hit 10lb at 22 weeks but has no other issues.

bubba hope work calms down and you can rest soon.

fuzzy could they not at least give you your own special chair, that sounds like a right PITA.

cupcakes hope you enjoyed your wedding and there weren't too many drunk people!

Clippedwings · 05/10/2010 19:17

Hi! May I join too, please?
My due date is 23rd Jan. It'll be my first and as regards the sex: we are leaving it a surprise - to add to all the other things that are sure to surprise us!

I decided to come and look on here as I has a bit of spotting today (I am 24 weeks)and didn't want to be a hypochondriac. I phoned the labour ward (it is now out of hours for the midwives) of the hospital where I am due to have the baby and they said to call back in an hour if I had any more, and had I felt the baby move? No more spotting yet, and after an anxious hour and a half, I felt the baby move finally, so I think it is all ok. I came on here to find out if anyone else had had this and if it was normal and there DO seem to be some, so coming on here has at least allayed some fears. I am turning 40, so am not expecting an easy ride... :(
