Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

Hi Clipped and welcome, glad you've found some support here and hope everything continues to be ok.
Ladybuzz good to hear the baby is fighting . I know a little boy who is now 4, he was born at 25 weeks and not given much chance but apart from a small problem with a muscle in his neck he's just like any other 4 year old.
Will talk to my boss about at least getting a chair I can have every day as it is a complete PITA and ribs and back......

FloraPost · 05/10/2010 19:58

Wow, lots of newbies, marvellous.

Not much to report really, just pootling along. I now have sicking AND acid reflux. My digestive system hates me. I look down on DP at night from a tower of 7 pillows! But I have discovered gaviscon; wonderful stuff. Tastes hideous, but ohhhhhhh it does the job Smile, and no limit to the amount you can have!

Sorry to hear about your scare Clippedwings. Sounds like things are ok if the LO is moving, fingers crossed for you.

Tiny Flora seems to have settled into a daily routine - no idea if this is normal or not. He starts bouncing at about 6:30am then does about an hour or an hour and a half starting around 10:30, another mid-afternoon and one around now. It doesn't seem to follow when I eat or drink. I read somewhere that about this point is when they get into the sleep patterns they will have at birth. If the kicking now is an indication if when he will wake and sleep, I'm laughing (vain hope emoticon).

Thinking of you Ryuk, hope all is well.

CupcakesHay · 05/10/2010 21:46

Hi clipped hope it's all ok. A complete worry for yu - and wish I could give you advice - but I hope it's OK.

Flora my baby has his own little routine too - def around 2pm and then midnight - every night - for at least an hour. Feels like he's practising taking penalty kicks. but I love it!

Have yet to have too much acid reflux, but def getting fuller and fuller these days - and cos we are meeting friends this week, for lunches and dinners... i am skipping breakfast - which I know is not too clever, but i figure it's only a week! :)

FloraPost · 06/10/2010 07:08

So are you off back to Syria after this week Cupcakes? It will be good to leave this rubbish weather behind. Sorry to hear your MIL is still being a pest, hope she hasn't upset you too much.

I forgot to say; DP has bought Tiny Flora his first Arsenal kit. He went to his first game at 9 weeks old and hopes to replicate that with the boy. Certainly the only way he'll ever get a season ticket will be to go for the family enclosure...

BubbaAndBump · 06/10/2010 07:56

Bit of a breather here this morning - antenatal at GP's in half an hour, so dropped girls off at nursery and now have 20 mins to myself. Work is manic so actually supposed to be checking work emails but as I can't act on most of them until I'm at work I figure a bit of Everybody Loves Raymond and some MNing is well in order :o

I am huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge and so heavy. Charging round school all day as well doesn't help, but I told them when they promoted me that it wouldn't matter that I was pregnant so I won't complain at work! Hmm

Welcome all newbies, hope news is good for all those waiting for results etc.

LadyBuzz · 06/10/2010 16:22

flora aww that is sweet of DH.

Welcome clipped glad everything is ok.

bubba did you enjoy your 20 mins peace?

Babybuzz seems to have a routine too, she wakes up every 20 minutes or so and kicks for around an hour - this better hadn't be the start of things to come Grin

MILS friends baby is doing well he has had a blood transfusion but is a little fighter so its all looking good for them.Smile

BubbaAndBump · 06/10/2010 18:41

I did thanks ladyb, but the 25 week appt showed my fundal height to be 31cm Shock and therefore likely to be another big baby, likely C-section (sob!) and so I had a good old pathetic hormonal (hormental) cry on the doc as she also asked if I was taking it easy at work (I'm not) and how old my 2 DCs are (if I ever saw them during the week, I might know) :(

Really glad to hear your MIL's friend's baby is doing well - that must be terrifying going into labour so early.

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 06/10/2010 19:14

oh bubba poor thing, try not to worry, have they offered you a growth scan? or do you need it to be over a few times for that to happen?
Won't be much longer at work - do you get half term off?

Ryuk · 07/10/2010 01:56

Glad to hear things are going well for your MIL's friend's LO bubba! :)

Thanks for the thoughts and concern above. Finally found out the results were negative. :)

I didn't hear from them on Thursday, tried to wait it out but still didn't hear anything so phoned yesterday morning, the receptionist said "I can't give results over the phone, you'd need an appointment.." me (worried, as that'd probably mean another week's wait) "but the results are in, yes?" her: "yes, they're in (pause) ...they came back negative". Bless. :)

Ryuk · 07/10/2010 02:02

Sorry, meant LadyBuzz's MIL's friend's baby!

Also Bubba, fingers crossed for you and the bump, and question seconded on the growth scan. Whatever happens, remember that by late January you'll be holding a perfect baby in your arms.

Shanster · 07/10/2010 02:32

Good news on your results ryuk!

bubba, I don't think they can really tell how big the baby is. During my last pregnancy, around 24 weeks the midwife freaked me out by sending me for a growth scan (I overheard her in the hallway telling the other mw that the baby was really small). I had the scan, and they said the baby was actually big. At 41 weeks, I had a scan to check all was still ok and then had to be induced that day as the baby was 'well over 9lb and had to come out that day'...she was 7lb9oz. They told me at my 20 week scan this baby is big, and this time around I thought 'yeah...right'
I too have been working like a dog, spent 12 hours at the office yesterday before freaking out that baby hadn't moved in a few hours (he now seems to be back to normal).

I'm flying to London on Saturday with DD (8 hour flight) to see my family before this baby comes along, I really hope 20 month old DD sleeps!!! Wish me luck...

CupcakesHay · 07/10/2010 10:13

bubba I'm sure it'll be OK. And i agree with RYUK - it'll be fine when you have the baby in your arms. It probably doesn't help that you're so shattered from crazy work schedule, and running around afetr kids, etc. Even i'm exhausted reading about your day! :)

Ryuk pleased about results - than god for nice receptionist - agree - if it was positive, would need to speak to you in person, but with negative - what's the point?

I think i'm finally coming to terms with MIL. Had a good old cry with friend yesterday, and feel better about everything! So back to being Happy Hayley again.

Also discovered baby has more rhythm than me... I was listening to my ipod on train and tapping bump and baby was keeping better time with his kicks Grin

shanster where are you flying from? I'm sure your DD will have plenty of fun going to the toilet about 20 times during the flight. Toddler seems obsessed by toilets on planes! (actually, i think i'll be going about 20 times when i fly home on sunday - literally went to loo 6 times last night!!!!)

Pleased it's all slowly getting a bit more upwards jjkm - i cannot even imagine what it must be like with 2 of them fighting for space! Grin

Fuzzywood · 08/10/2010 15:12

Quick question, I've just had a letter from my docs inviting me to have a flu jab as per the new guidelines for this year. Not sure whether to go and have it or not, are any of you going to have it/ not have it? Will do a bit of research later but wondered what everyone else thought. Thanks!

CupcakesHay · 08/10/2010 16:08

Hi fuzzy - I usually get a flu jab, for some reason when we were in Moscow, we got offered it at the embassy, and again, had it last year - and didn't get flu.

I had a very bad cold earlier this month and it was awful not being able to take anything but paracetomol... so if I get the option in Syria, i'll be taking it - and if not i'll grab one when I'm back in Devon on my 32 weeks.

BUT - i think they work for me, whereas i've heard a few stories of people getting flu afetr getting the jab!

Plus, I travel a lot on planes, and find without it I get colds galore.

oooh - arsenic - really. wow - didn't know that. hmmmm... that'll get me thinking!

BubbaAndBump · 09/10/2010 17:54

I'm streaming with a cold atm and you're right, being pg with a cold is miserable as you just have to ride the snot waves :o Hmm

Not been offered a flu jab so not sure what I'd recommend.

Just found out my sister's had an EP scan and there's a decent sized sac but no baby :( :( like me she already has 2 DDs but is a few years older than me. So sad for her and feeling guilty (I know it's silly) for being pg when she wants to be too :(

Evening all

Have had a lovely week away with the DP in the Lakes. Was just fab to relax and not stress, the past few weeks at work had really got to me and I ended up in tears on the Friday night before we went. Feeling much cheerier after a week of r&r.

Fab to hear that the results are negative ryuk

Baby has found my ribs, boy that hurts! We've bought paint today for the nursey and are now looking for curtains and lampshade that will match.

CupcakesHay · 09/10/2010 23:18

bubba difficult to say, but try not to feel guilty... your poor sister though Sad

running pleased week off was just what you needed - promise to try not to let work get to you when you go back next week?

I'm flying home to syria tomorrow... dying to see my cats - and realised today that I only have about 6 weeks with DH before i fly home again - and then that's kind of the end of "life as we know it".... so we've agreed that we're going to spend the next 5 weekends having breakfast in bed watching movies and cuddling the cats! :)

PS. No one give my baby the map to the ribs - the kicking's bad enough!

ZippyPippy · 11/10/2010 08:09

Welcome to all the new people. Good to hear how everyone is getting on.

Great news about the results ryuk, good that your sickness is starting to go jjkm and glad you had a nice holiday running.

bubba so sorry to hear about your sister , the cold and big baby :( You must be feeling a bit fed up. Like cupcakes says, is hard but try not to feel guilty. My sister took years and years to get pregnant suffering endless miscarriages and I felt guilty that it just happened very easily with me, but she didn't give it a second thought and was so happy for me not having to go through the same heartache she did. As long as we are there for family, that is the the main thing.

fuzzy I've been offered the flu jab (I read that all pregnant women will be) and am going to have it, I try not to listen to all the scaremongering about it. Like bubba I had a streaming cold a couple of weeks ago and felt loads worse than I usually would so would really rather not get flu whilst pregnant. It can also be very dangerous for baby so think it's worth it. Everyone has to decide what's right for them though.

cupcakes have a good journey back to Syria and enjoy the sunshine!

Don't know about anyone else but I'm really starting to struggle to pick things up off the floor and cut my toenails!!!

Fuzzywood · 11/10/2010 17:59

Hi all, thanks for the thoughts about the flu jab, think I probably will have it. Completely agree that a dose of flu wouldn't be at all good. Plus I think you have to trust that the doctors and other people who develop these vaccines know what they're doing.
Hope your sister is ok as it's possible to be Bubba.
Cupcakes how was the journey? Like the plan to enjoy your last few child free weeks together.
Running your break sounds lovely, I really could do with some time off counting down the days to maternity leave instead.
