Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

Congratulations to everyone joining the thread. Another early morning of me so I have tried to make the most of it by San Tropezing myself as we are going out this afternoon to a christening and yesterday my milk bottle legs were offending my eyes, so hopefully the consequences won't be too disastrous.

We were going to keep it a secret for another couple of weeks, but my parents came round last night and we told them. They were very excited and it was a lovely moment. But now that we have told someone, I feel even more anxious about mc etc - feels somehow that there's more at stake, even though I know that sounds stupid.

We are seeing PIL at the christening today, and on Tuesday they go away on holiday for a month - so somehow we are going to have to get them on their own and tell them. Don't think it's right for my parents to know and not them. Plus, I am going on a work weekend away in a few weeks, and want to tell my boss before then in case if comes out during the weekend, so feel like we have to tell PIL before boss, but they are going away - it's all so complicated!!

Anyway, symptoms still include tender breasts, frequent weeing and a horrid headache that I've had for about 3 days. My mum said last night she had migraines throughout her 1st trimester with me - great.

No odd cravings yet careylouwho hope you managed to get hold of some sausage rolls!

WestYorkshireGirl · 23/05/2010 14:52

Hello ladies

Hope you are all enjoying the sun! Moules I too have been waking early which is hard going as I haven't always been able to sleep at night; however, it's been useful this weekend as have been doing lots of garden jobs. Feel quite tired now thought so I've stopped to have a rest.

littleyellowchicken I had a mc at 12 weeks so share a bit of your anxiety; however, I keep telling myself there's no reason to think it will happen again, but you do lose a bit of that innocence and excitement you have the first time. We are in two minds over telling family on the phone now or waiting a week and telling them when we all go away together. Was all for the latter option but then realised it can be a bit awkward just blurting it out!

Have booked to see mw next week, but this is only so I can get my bloods etc through the NHS as I am actually having an independent mw so have been back in touch with her and she will book me early Aug.

Not too bad in terms of queasiness, but a bad upset tummy which I recall having last time. Other than that it's just the tiredness - had a nap at 8.30pm last night which was a bit odd! No cravings yet, but next door's bacon did smell good this morning!!

BlessedMommy · 23/05/2010 23:22

Omg I'm so excited to be pregnant again! We have a 4year old and 1 year old. Both boys! EDD is January 24 (add me bubba ;) lol ) I have no symptoms just a little dizzy and extremely hungry 24/7! Congrats everyone! May we all have a blessed pregnancy to term!

Still no real symptoms here, starting to worry! (Remind me of this when I'm chucking my guts up in a few weeks' time!) - doc's appt tonight, so maybe it'll feel more real then.

Have finally gotten around to ringing the doctors, need to see midwife first so waiting for them to call back with an appointment. I was just about to say I have no symptoms either but then I was in bed by 9.30 the last 2 nights and I'm sure that's not just from running around after a toddler. Hope all are well, better go and do some work now!

littleyellowchicken · 24/05/2010 21:12

Thanks WestYorkshireGirl - it's true about the loss of innocence stuff this time. I just feel that each day I am still pregnant is a bonus.
I have told more people this time because I felt a need to tell my close friends and family about the mc. So I may as well tell them I'm pregnant now because if it goes wrong this time I will tell them anyway.
Good luck to all.

kipperthedog · 24/05/2010 21:14

Hello, how is everyone today? Hope you all had a lovely weekend, very hot here & feeling quite nauseous still..

BubbaAndBump · 24/05/2010 22:33

Threw up tonight - likely to be the first of many if previous pregnancies are anything to go by - hot, hot, hot here too .

I agree with your sentiment yellow as you need family and friends if things go pear shaped, so those same people may as well know now while the going's good.

Had doc's appt today - was great telling someone real about it (not family or friends I mean) - have to call hospital tomorrow to make my booking appt

Hey, can I join you? I'm due 1/27, this will be my second (have 16 month old DD). Very excited but the 1st trimester just seems to be stretching out forever in front of me....

mimster · 25/05/2010 09:24

Hi there - can I join in?! I am due 22/1 this will be my third (have DD(5) and DS (3)) Had a mc in Jan too so am feeling a little bit twitchy although this time my boobs are much sorer and I am feeling tired which I take to be good signs. I live in London. Haven't seen a doctor or booked in with anyone yet,as am kind of waiting for a few more weeks to rack up (a bit head in the sand in that respect!)

Welcome shanster and mimster - spookily similar names!!

We're all keeping quietish but hopeful, must be doubly hard for those who've had a mc in the past

Bit my dad's head off this morning for siding with my husband on something Need to watch that temper!

OP posts:
saffronbun · 25/05/2010 12:58

Welcome lovely new people & congratulations!

I'm having a rubbish couple of days; lots of cramps, am knackered, yesterday ended up weeping uncontrollably at husband for no apparent reason and freaked him out completely, then accidentally ate pastrami for lunch today - didn't know it was raw meat and therefore off limits. Oh well, it'll go nicely with the goat's cheese I accidentally ate last week :/

Seeing the doctor next Tuesday for 1st visit... does anyone know if you are meant to go by yourself or take husband too?

Fuzzywood · 25/05/2010 13:10

Saffron think you can take your husband if you like. From memory though the first appointment isn't particularly interesting, lots of form filling and they give you your pregnancy pack which is basically your book that will be your notes and other bits of info. I can't remember if they talk about screening and things like that, guess your husband may be interested in this bit but you don't have to make any decisions at the first appointment. Don't know if anyone else can add anything, haven't heard back from midwife about my appointment and can't really remember what happened with DD.

BubbaAndBump · 25/05/2010 13:34

I did take my husband for the first child's first appointment because we were so overexcited - but I have to say it didn't cross my mind this time as it really isn't very exciting and you also don't need to make any decisions either that you might otherwise want him for - but definitely take him along for Booking Appt and all scans if poss...

Also had a rough couple of days, nausea is setting in which is tough when you're changing stinky poo nappies from your other DCs! Worried about work finding out from my green gills before I'm ready to tell them...

My DH sweetly brought home paté and camembert from the shops last week - he got in big trouble for that!

You've just reminded me though, I need to order my next shop online... [yawning emoticon]

moulesfrites · 25/05/2010 16:48

I've got my appt on Friday, didn't occur to me to take dh though!! Bubbabump sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the Booking Appointment? Am new to all this.

When I rang drs they told me I need to take in urine sample to confirm test - so now I'm all panicky that my test might have been wrong so I have bought another one this afternoon!! Silly really as I have no period, sore boobs, constant headache and wierd tastes in my mouth!!

Am also worried about letting it slip at work, or being sussed out somehow!!

BubbaAndBump · 25/05/2010 17:26

No question is stupid moules ~ Booking Appt is the first one you have with the midwife after you've been referred by the GP - at the booking appointment, they just go all through your details (again), in lots of detail, including partner's details, family medical histories etc etc - lots of form filling.

They also weigh you, take blood, take urine samples (I think) - be prepared for a lot of weeing for a lot of strangers over the next few months - and both previous times they've asked me if my DH abuses me! Apparently it's supposed to be asked of all mums-to-be but I guess my DH looks dodgy as not all my friends have been asked. My DH is the most harmless man on the planet, so it made me laugh...

Did you take the test again then?

OP posts:
moulesfrites · 25/05/2010 19:11

No, I'm going to wait til the morning. Stupid I know. Feel absolutely exhausted tonight, awful headache and very teary - but from what I've read this is normal?? Want to ask drs about taking something for headache - have been taking one paracetamol when I feel it coming on, but doesn't touch it. Probably something else I'm going to have to get used to! I know I shouldn't moan!

Thanks for your advice on midwife appt.

LadyBuzz · 25/05/2010 19:17

Hello everyone, Welcome to the new people and congratulations too!

I am a great aunty again, I have a beautiful great nephew born this morning, I am off to see him tomorrow - Can't wait

Got my GP appointment tomorrow aswell.

I seem to have spent today crying for some strange reason, mainly because I had had good news from my niece. Stupid bladder too close to my eyes

littleyellowchicken I agree with you, I felt the same way after my mc before DS1, You need the support of your friends so I can't see the harm.

Hope everyone else is feeling well

LadyBuzz · 25/05/2010 19:19

moulesfrites yes that sounds perfectly normal!

Some doctors confirm as a matter of course and some don't. Don't worry it definately sounds like you are

BubbaAndBump · 25/05/2010 20:10

Does your nephew have a name yet Lady?

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 25/05/2010 20:22

He is called Harvey Lliam. born this morning lb oz.

BubbaAndBump · 25/05/2010 20:54

Is the weight a secret or has your preggers brain kicked in already

Sweet names

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 25/05/2010 20:58

ooops I have an issue with the number bit on my lap top.
He was 8lb 2oz!

Harvey is her DHs family name I think and Lliam is after my DH - And that is the right spelling (crazy MIL- William without the Wi!!!) not my pg brain

saffronbun · 26/05/2010 09:38

Lovely news, LadyBuzz

Also thanks to the non-first timers for the answers - it's nice to be able to ask daft questions when it's your first one.

Moules, I must confess I caved in this morning and did another test just to check I wasn't imagining the whole thing. It said 2-3 weeks, hooray! I'm not going to do any more now, honest.

BubbaAndBump · 26/05/2010 13:53

lol saffron - although I didn't repeat tests on othe pregnancies, I didn't really believe either one until the babies were born - kept convincing myself I'd made it up, even when they were hoofing me in the ribs!

Feeling naaaaaaaaaaaaauseous today
