Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

well I have a funny story might cheer you up - remember how I said I had bought another text to do in the morning? So this morning I woke up at about 4am needing a wee (another symptom)? I read that I should use first urine of the day, so I took the test to the loo with me, but in my sleepy state, promptly dropped it in the toilet. Fished it out and every sign/line/number was flashing at me!! Am so annoyed because it was a CB digital - £10 just for one!! So now I just think I'll just wait for the drs to confirm anyway rather than having to buy another. Such an idiot!! Two people at work today have asked me if I'm ok, commented on me looking ill - always nice to hear!!

moulesfrites · 26/05/2010 16:12

test not text obv

BubbaAndBump · 26/05/2010 17:02

pml moules - definitely preggers brain going on there (although blame it on the sleepy state if you prefer )

A pregnancy text could be a thing of the future - you know, text your uterus and wait for her (??) to reply to let you know if she's going to be busy for the next 9 months or so!

How's everyone else feeling?

Hello all

Can I join in too please? 1st pregnancy, due 27th Jan. Am booked in to see the Doc on Friday but really didn't quite know what I was doing till I read this thread - so thank you.

FloraPost · 27/05/2010 02:52

May I join you please? I got a bfp on Sunday morning after 3.5 years of trying for our 1st. Seeing the GP next week but I calculated the due date as 28th Jan. It still doesn't seem real! I'm in London btw.

BubbaAndBump · 27/05/2010 06:20

Welcome RunningKatie and FloraPost - fab news with the BFPs, especially with firsts and with having tried so long. Believe me, it doesn't feel real for a long time! Still doubting this pregnancy and it's my 3rd

Wow, Flora, congrats!

Can I join? Though I suspect baby will come early Feb (have had two late ones...).

Have a girl aged 4, and a boy who is nearly 2.

EDD 29th Jan...

It's hard being so early on, isn't it? Am vaguely nauseous, and exhausted, but no time to be!! . Had awful morning sickness the first time - sick every day for 4 months. But only a bit the second time. So won't be able to help thinking it's a boy/girl depending on how nauseous I get. Oh, and how thick my waist gets too... Can't decide whether we would like a girl or boy... Obviously, can't choose anyway

Will try to keep up with thread..!! Am supposed to be marking online so will be a good distraction!

LadyBuzz · 27/05/2010 09:30

Welcome runningkatie & Flora & adair congrats to you all. Good to see more people joining up.

Finally went to the GP last night, I need to contact the community midwives but their number is out of order and no-one is answering the main hospital number great service by the NHS - shocking!

Hope the sickness isn't too bad for people, I feel a little nauseous but not too bad at the moment!

WestYorkshireGirl · 27/05/2010 20:14

Hi All Moules Bad news about your testing incident ! I have a little pot which I use for testing urine as I used to use the Persona for contraception and you also had to use the first urine of the day. It's just too much whilst sleepy trying to aim correctly!

I haven't been on much this week - been SOOOOOO tired and been going to bed after tea! Never was this tired with previous pg, but I've been like a zombie. Also queasy- mostly in mornings, but have done very well with having lots of healthy snacks and only having 1 biscuit a day - the rest is fruit and veg! Last time I put a lot on just through extra eating and not making sure I had the right things with me so I thought I might as well try to get off to a good start.

Had a bit of a fright on Tues - got up quickly and had very intense sharp pain in right side low down. DH immediately got very worried about another mc and possibly an ectopic pg, but it seems to have settled and think maybe I got up funnily and pulled a muscle. Have got booking appt with mw tomorrow so will mention then. Have also arranged my booking in appt with my independent mw for Aug which all helps make it a bit more real.

In other news, because I work for a non-departmental govt body, we have been told this week we will receive a £4 million cut this year and there will be a recruitment freeze and no maternity cover replacements which is all a bit worrying, especially as another member of my team in another region is also pg. Obviously I feel a bit guilty sitting in meetings knowing I will be leaving and won't be replaced.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I really can't get over this immense fatigue - how do you cope with other DCs? !

LadyBuzz · 27/05/2010 20:54

westyorkshiregirl I know how you feel, I laso work for the govt and we have been placed on a vacancy freeze, there is only 1 other person in my dept and I am dreading having to tell her - she is not a people (or a child) person.

Don't worry too much about the pain if it went, your ligaments soften and are prone to pulling if you move the wrong way, I always seem to hurt myself laughing!

I met my great nephew yesterday, he is so gorgeous and so very tiny even though he was 8lb 2 you forget how small they are - I can't wait to hold my newborn

Fuzzywood · 27/05/2010 21:21

Just popped in to see how everyone is doing. Still not heard back from the mw, hope they don't leave it too long or I'll start worrying about being late for scans and any other tests. Anyway, sure they'll call soon. Right I'm off to bed as I'm absolutely knackered, rock and roll this pg lark isn't it

soooooooexcited · 27/05/2010 21:37

Hi There

just seen this thread and just wanted to wish you all the very best. I can't believe how time flies and its seems like yesterday when I joined the Jan 2010 thread. Reading about your joy and fear, excitement and nervousness brings back lots of happy memories. My little one is now a gorg 16 weeks old who is sound asleep upstairs. So enjoy it all , the morning sickness, scans, labour (!!) cause before you know it you'll be reading about the Jan 2012 thread !!

FloraPost · 28/05/2010 00:26

Hehe, thanks Adair. If we hadn't managed it by July the consultant was going to refer us for IVF on the NHS. Luckily it turns out a quick endometriosis-zapping laparoscopy was all I needed...

To those of you more experienced than me: I have no symptoms. None. Is this a good/bad sign? Or can I bank on feeling grim pretty soon?

Welcome Adair nice to see someone else as mad as me going for #3 so soon, but at least yours will be 3 under 5, not 3 under 4

ikwym about feeling guilty at work WYG, in a different way to yours though, as I sat on an interview panel yesterday and kept schtumm about being pg to both the candidates and the other interviewers

Hey Flora don't be concerned about no symptoms yet (although I was in the same boat just last week - now retching and feeling nauseous all day ;( Some people don't have symptoms though and sail through pregnancy looking gorgeous and glamorous, and pop a wee baby out with the minimum of effort at the end. I'm not one of those but you might be lucky! Just be happy you're feeling okay (atm) ;)

So far, being all of 6 weeks pg (and not even that!), I've told my parents, a member of senior management (whose job I'll be doing fof a term come September), five friends and another one's coming over today, so it'll be six by the end of the day. So much for keeping it to ourselves until the 'safe' part is over!! Bloomin' useless!

I kind of got bounced into telling a manager at work yesterday when he asked me to take on a new role. I sounded absolutely ridiculous trying to skirt around why I wouldn't be around to see the project through for the year, so out it came (the news, not the baby). Whoops!

On the other hand, pretty pleased with myself that I wasn't rumbled in the pub last night sticking to OJ.

BubbaAndBump · 28/05/2010 08:04

I avoided seeing a friend of mine for the first three months with my 1st pregnancy, because I realised we never met anywhere other than in boozoige places

WestYorkshireGirl · 28/05/2010 18:24

Not sure if things are OK. The pain in my right, really low down started again last night and woke up this morning with no symptoms at all - they've just vanished. Mentioned all to MW and she couldn't refer me for a scan unless I am bleeding (which I'm not) until 12 weeks. She said sometimes symptoms come and go, but last time that was the key indicator for the MC. All she advised was to go to A&E or call their out of hours no if bleeding starts and take a pg test in 2 weeks. Pain in the left started earlier and general cramps all along - not on the scale of last time, but niggly. Feel really odd - I don't feel pg at all and don't have a good feeling, but until something happens there's nothing I can do so just feel helpless. 6 more weeks seems a long time until a scan..... Private scans seem to be in the region of £90 and can't be done until 7 weeks and then I'd have to go to Leeds which is a 50 mins drive so can't do much until the end of next week on that front and I'm not sure we can affo
ord £90. Why is the NHS so rubbish?

BubbaAndBump · 28/05/2010 18:56

Poor you WYG ~ ~ sending you massive cyber hugs. I was really crampy a couple of weeks back and googled it all immediately and it did say cramping was quite normal, unless there was bleeding too. Poor you though that the midwife couldn't say more to comfort you. Must be really hard for you, especially with your history, but do try and stay positive. Curl up with some comfort food and get a trashy DVD out for the evening and let us know how you're getting on.

LadyBuzz · 28/05/2010 19:27

west yorkshiregirl poor thing, that sounds awful for you. I secong what bubbaandbump said, look after your self and try to stay positive.

Everything is crossed for you

Adair · 28/05/2010 20:30

Oh gosh, wygirl, sounds awful. Could you not tell a little teeny tiny white lie and say you saw a bit of spotting..? Agree try and stay positive and look after yourself. I had lots of cramps, especially in my first pregnancy.

Bubbaandbump- I know, I am a little bit terrified about three of them. But yes, dd will be at school most of the day...

Flora, I am a bit tired and vaguely nauseous but not many symptoms really now. Lots of people I know didn't get sickness at all.

knackered76 · 28/05/2010 21:33

Hello all,

5 weeks and due 24th Jan. This will be my third, one of each flavour so far 5yrs and 3.5yrs. Had an early scan as concerns about pain but nothing abnormal. Going back in 3 weeks to check it's a viable pregnancy so playing the waiting game until then. No symptoms so far, but then I am early in and I didn't get any with my other 2

Congratulations to everyone and fingers crossed for healthy and happy first scans

aly323 · 28/05/2010 21:34

Hello ladies. I think I'm ready to quietly join in if it's ok with you all. I've had about 20 positive tests and have been following my hcg's since I just had a mc last month. That was my first pregnancy. It has definitely made me a nervous wreck as to this one. After three hcg tests, everything looks good, they're doubling well within the time and are high- very different from last time. However, I'm still going to worry till the day I pop the kid out.

My EDD is Jan. 31, but I'll likely be induced early since I get diabetes when I'm pregnant. I've already started insulin 4 times a day. The insulin isn't bad, but the restricted diet sucks. The diabetes was a surprise last time, I'm actually very fit and eat well. I'm now a huge advocate of early testing in pregnancy. I'm so happy I knew about it this time and could start being proactive right away.

WYG, I hope everything is ok. If it gets too bad, I absolutely agree with Adair- go to the A&E and try to force (or lie) your way into a scan. You really shouldn't be left hanging this way. Not that it means much, but I'm at the same point as you and have no real symptoms (although I thought I did before) and I have light cramping. I've had my HCG checked and it looks fine. I'm sending you loads of positive thoughts.

knackered76 · 28/05/2010 21:38

WYG - sorry to hear you're suffering I was referred for an early scan by my doctor because I was having pain. Too early for me to see if it's a viable one so going back in 3 weeks. Maybe bypass your MW and get the doctor to refer you. I hadn't had any bleeding and still was referred. Crossing all things possible for you.

WestYorkshireGirl · 29/05/2010 18:48

Hi All

Thanks bubba Lady adair knackered for your kind wishes and advice. Aly Good to see another person from our mc thread. I'm still on there - can't bring myself to leave after investing so much in that thread and the great ladies there!

Well, woke up with no symptoms again, but even though I had over 10 hrs sleep I was very tired and by mid morning I felt pretty shocking in terms of nausea which got worse all day. Am still getting random pains everywhere, but not as bad and feel a bit calmer. DH said I looked like a ghost earlier and took a pic on his iphone after saying I looked terrible- how odd that I found this strangely comforting!..... Quick question - presume I should avoid a wheat bag or hot water bottle for the pains?

Have found 2 places in Leeds that do private scans, but will try 'stretching the truth a bit' to get one at my local hospital at the EPAU. Am off on Mon-Fri to Center Parcs with family so this could be a good distraction and by the time I return I'll nearly be 8 weeks and there will be something to see on the scan. So, trying not to worry....

Am off to prepare for Dr Who fest....
