For those of you who were reasurring about not feeling any movements yet. For the last 3 days I've definitely felt some poking and rolling about going on in there

15+2 now. Can't wait til my 16 week appointment (other than the bloods!!) next monday!!

Hermya321 · 11/05/2010 18:58

Floozie Great news!!!

Glad you are getting sorted Nymph and Floozie

Been ill today again and thinking mumsnet is the best way of relaxing.

Felt the baby so much everyday since Thursday last week which is brilliant, no paranoia anymore as she is making it clear she is ok. Dh is sulking as he wants to feel her but not had the opportunity yet.

Cant stop spending money on pink things and shouldnt leave the house for dh's sake

Antidote · 11/05/2010 20:14

Evening all.

Nice to hear lots of you are feeling movement. I definitely felt something wriggle about a week ago, but since then it's been mostly tight feelings at the top of the bump especially after carrying things upstairs. Just trying to keep calm about this for now, as nothing bad seems to have happened.

Felt really guilty that I was being a terrible mother at work today when it got to 3pm and I'd not had anything to eat or drink since breakfast. Must try to be a bit more sensible tomorrow.

I'm also rather envious that some of you have actually had an option to see an obstetrician. Where I'm booked in it seems to be GP & midwife only. Hmmph

VMumToBe · 11/05/2010 21:21

Hello all and thanks for the anniv wishes.

First year = paper so a beautiful moleskine notebook from dh with "nothing with more possibility in the world than an empty notebook. Fill it with your thoughts and dreams (and I hope you share them with me)"

Soppy hormonal me got the tears out so the first page is a bit smudged!!!

Feeling a bit tender as emergency stop in the car yesterday to avoid crash means a big bruise across the bottom of my belly where the seatbelt cut in. Hope Pippy is okay, feeling flutters and found a heartbeat this eve with the doppler but I feel awful having possibly hurt himher. Hoping the old fluid is all protecting.

Would I show my age if I asked for a bit of bucks fizz? Always a favourite down the roller disco of my youth!!!

floozietoozie · 11/05/2010 22:43

Antidote I'm just amazed you can go that long without eating. I can't even do that when not pg! I must either have a very fast metabolism or a very inefficient one at extracting energy from the food I eat.

So, any comments on tonight's events or are we leaving politics to the relevant boards now?

Tyson, hope you feel better tomorrow.

Hermya321 · 11/05/2010 23:02

Floozie My FB is in an uproar, I kinda knew Cameron would get in. I didn't vote for him mind you, but I suppose whats done is done. I'm not going to start moaning just yet, the guy hasn't done anything as of yet so until he does I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. All we can do really.

I voted tory so am happy! but I'm actually disappointed Vince Cable isn't chancellor. Least hes been given a decent post though

Nymphadora · 12/05/2010 09:41

Leave politics on politics as I don't want to fall out with anymore MNers(and am stuck with you lot for a while yet).

lilmissmummy · 12/05/2010 09:56

floozie and nymph glad you are getting somewhere!

I am due 24th Oct so I am hoping for 20th! To give baby the birthdate 20/10/2010 although my children have been born Christmas eve and Easter Monday so with those odds I reckon it will be Halloween!

Abfab I dont like Peter Kay either, dh LOVES him but I just dont think he is that funny.

I have got CRAZY mood swings at the moment... I can go from happy to sad to angry in about 10 seconds. It takes a lot of willpower to bite my tongue but I dont think I am doing as well as I thought as dh commented on it last night. oops!! Anyone got any tips???

lilmissmummy · 12/05/2010 09:58

VMum aww that it beautiful, it is our 1st anniversary in August and I am looking forward to something thoughtful rather than OTT.

AbFabT · 12/05/2010 10:24

lilmiss, 20/10/2010 is a great date!
I was born eight days after Easter (and have since had an Easter Birthday), my brother is Christmas Day and my other brother is 30th October.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 12/05/2010 11:05

AbFab and lilmiss. Spooky, DS1 was due Christmas Day (born 3 days early), DS2 was born 8 days after easter, DC4 due 30th October.

DS3 was born on the day between my mum and my fil's 60th birthdays.

Am therefore also on for 31st October I reckon.

shieldbug · 12/05/2010 11:15

antidote I am now 17 + 4 and I still can't feel anything (this is my first). How far on are you? Tyson and Xavielli great news that you can feel your babies now, but I am jealous!! A gp friend says not to worry, that I might not feel anything until after week 20. Hope it's not that long though, as it feels ages away!

Nymph so glad you are finally getting the care you need from the medical profession.

lilmiss hadn't thought about 20/10/2010 before as a good date. I'm due on the 16th so if my curries etc tro bring on labour on the 10th fail, I'll try again on the 20th!!

AbFabT · 12/05/2010 11:23

ILGH - wow! That IS spooky!
I'm also the day before St.George's Day, which, imo, should be a Bank Holiday.

This is my mum's first grandchild, she's 11th October and hoping for the best present ever. Might well happen!

I'm still feeling it will happen in late September though. I'd be over the moon with a 22nd September baby - DH and I are both born on the 22nd (as are two of my cousins and two of their children!). DH and I also had our first date on the 22nd.
I'm 37 weeks on the 13th September, so I think anything after that is safe.

10/10/10 is mega cool though!

Ach, as long as all are healthy.

DillyDora · 12/05/2010 11:24

Hi All,

Glad everything has improved floozie so big good lucks for next week - but we'll be in touch before then.

Lilmiss I too am wee devilly girl... being really critical, snipey at DH which is soooo unfair and also quite anxious about anything and everything (this morning it was meningitis, to replace the worry about breast pain yesterday). S'pose it's just par for the course...

Vmum lovely about the pressie but sorry about the car bump! Didn't realise you had a doppler - how much are they? (DH would kill me though....)

I'm 17+1 (alledgedly) but don't feel much, the doc I saw on Monday also said it was very early days for that.

OK, gotta run, training to deliver this p.m. yukky yuk yuk... but I'll be finished by 5 which is a bonus.

Have a lovely day everyone
xx

Hermya321 · 12/05/2010 12:08

I went to get fitted for a bra today, I'm not entirely convinced they got it right. I did go in two separate stores who both measured me the same. Maybe it's my hormones, but part of me is convinced they're all in on the goal to sell me crappy bras.

I think I'm going to have to convince DH to take a trip to a larger City for one of those bravisimo stores.

Other than that, as you were.

shieldbug i am 18+5 weeks today with my 2nd.

Im at work at the moment but cant concentrate as ds is unwell and cried alot when MIL took him, i dont know why i couldnt have the day off and be with him, i work for MIL ffs.

Nymphadora · 12/05/2010 12:25

HermyaThere is a good bra shop in my town but haven't checked if they do Mat bras.Got good one last year for my wedding dress though.

RooBear · 12/05/2010 13:52

sorry nymph

floozietoozie · 12/05/2010 14:19

Abfab, I forgot to answer your question before. You remind me of my friend because you are facially very similar.

Get all you with your lovely 1st anniversary stories. Me and dp are 15 years in august so a bit past the honeymoon phase. He has just made me lunch though as he's the main chef in the house - it's the everyday things now that count!

Tyson, that's rubbish for you and your ds. Hope he gets better soon. They just want mummy when they're ill, don't they?

ANY date involving 10/10 in it will be a fantastic birthday as far as I'm concerned! Preferably 8/10/10 or later so I will be 37 weeks or more. It would be a dream come true after last time. I'd love a Halloween baby!

tiredfeet · 12/05/2010 14:20

hermya I did that too with maternity clothes, so the ones I bought online I can't wear yet. But having seen my friend recently who's 7 months I figure there will be a time when they most definitely won't be baggy!

floozie I'm sorry you're having so many problems with your midwife

nymph I'm glad things finally seem to be improving with your care now, it makes a lot of difference having someone who listens

lovely that more and more people are feeling movement. I hadn't felt much over the last few days and was starting to worry, but I think it was just that I was out and about a lot, today I'm mainly working at home and baby appears to be having a little disco in my tummy (so thread title very appropriate!)

RooBear · 12/05/2010 14:45

floozie theres a possible the bump will be born on our 1st wedding anniversery!

Hermya321 · 12/05/2010 15:28

Tiredfeet I got another pair as well today, they're too short. So they're back on ebay as we speak. I think Maternity jeans are just one of those things that I'll have to go and try on to get the fit and style right.

On the bra front, I rang a woman from the Bravisimo helpline who talked me through what I should be looking for and recomended a few sizes to try. So I went back into town and had a good old rummage and then tried some on in the changing rooms (with the bra fit guide on my phone) and managed to come out with something I feel comfy in. Result!!

You are making me jealous with the 1st wedding anniversary stories- it was ours a couple of weeks ago and I got absolutely nothing- not even a card- and he definately hadn't forgotten as we did talk about going away for it! He is normally really thoughtful so I was really shocked and he picked a bad time when I am hormonal as it is! So in the end we had a very uncomfortable evening where he went to bed early and I sat and ate the cake I had bought us

Am jealous of you all feeing movement as I still can't and I am 18+2 now but heard the heart beat last week so trying not to worry.
