Ah, floozie, I see!
15 years!!! WOW!!!

Roo, how cool if the baby is born on your anniversary! That is some present!!!

Think I'll need to go bra shopping soon! They are definitely bigger than before!

floozietoozie · 12/05/2010 17:39

abfab yeah, I deserve a medal don't I? think you get less for murder sometimes....

We were planning to have a big party this summer for it as we never had the wedding thing, but I'm just focused on the pregnancy atm and am thinking maybe we should wait another year and have a combined welcome party for baby and 16th anniversary instead (assuming we make it after the stress of child no 2!!!! No 1 nearly did for us. Am I scaring all the first-timers enough yet . )

Roo, what a fab pressie that would be indeed. And it would cut down on the no of dates your dh has to remember, men traditionally not bring so good at these things...

Sam, maybe it means he will never make the same mistake again?

DillyDora · 12/05/2010 18:52

Hermya try Debenhams for mat jeans, I got mine there and they are both cheap and lovely!! They're the 'own brand' ones, Red Herring...

SOrry about the anniversary Sam

Nymphadora · 12/05/2010 19:35

Hermya Did I tell you that Debenhams has a secret supply of Mat clothes. Only odd pairs of trousers/jeans hidden amoungst other trousers/jeans in red Herring. I asked a group of staff and only one knew about them. Its only leftovers apparantly but there was about 10 pairs so you may get lucky.

Hermya321 · 12/05/2010 19:42

Thanks Dilly, Nymph I'll check them out this weekend when I'm down in that direction.

Hi All

Things move so quickly on here I can never keep up!

sam I'm about a week behind you and haven't felt anything at all. My friend at work's 36 weeks now, but she didn't feel anything til 23 weeks, so I think it's just different for everyone.

I think listening for the heartbeat is different in different areas of the country. I had my last midwife's appoint on Monday and she said they don't do it here until after 20 weeks as if they can't pick it up it's more worrying than reassuring.

So at the moment I'm on no movement, no listening to heartbeat and still waking up in the night having been fast asleep on my front dreaming the baby thing was all just in my imagination! Will be good to have the next scan in 2 weeks just to see it's still there

AbFabT · 12/05/2010 21:04

LOL, floozie! On the Sunday, I put as my Status Update on Facebook:
AbFab has been blissfully married for a year. Happy Anniversary, Darling Husband. xox

By contrast, DH wrote for his:
DH has served one year of his life sentence.

Cheeky little rascal!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/05/2010 21:26

Patsy, don't worry, I get lost constantly on this thread(and others!!). I'm blaming it on the hormones.

Another vote for red herring- but be warned, my jeans are a bit short, and should be regular. I should have tried them on.

I need new bras!!! My boobs have suddenly got bigger so they don't fit and i'm still being naughty wearing underwired. You lot are inspiring me to get this sorted!

Nymph- who did you fall out with on he politics thread?you always strike me as balanced on those threads. I've given, I've got election fatigue and am fed up with BNP threads multiplying! I don't know WHAT I think now!!

Feeling lots of wriggling which is lovely, dh can feel it too I love this stage- I feel better and I love feeling little one.

Floozie- wow 15 years! We've got 4 done paper pressie for first anniversay was our flight tickets for our very belated honeymoon- it was worth the wait! Abfab- soory, no profile, I have Internet paranoia, I should really put some piccies up.

tiredfeet · 13/05/2010 06:26

argh I'm awake again, been awake since 5am and I think its baby's fault, have been feeling kicking ever since! I don't think this one is going to be one of those babies that sleep through the night!

all this chat about first wedding anniversaries is reminding me that it was our first wedding anniversary when I found out I was pregnant . It was a pretty amazing present after 18 months of trying. I am having a little cry now remembering that moment [hormonal] and think I might once again forgive baby for stealing my sleep.

Sam don't worry about no movement, I think its quite common to not feel anything until after 20 weeks.

I need new bras again too, I've gone up to an F cup now already . The rest of me hasn't grown, just boobs and stomach. It feels like they belong to someone else! I am really tempted to go back to underwired though they aren't too saggy yet but I really miss the shape that a good underwired bra gives. Some books I have say there's no real problem with this, as long as the bra fits well. Is anyone else sticking with underwired?

Nymphadora · 13/05/2010 08:09

seashells not exactly falling out with people but now looking at people in a different light with a scowl on my face! The lefties ones are ok but have read some gems of knowledge on some of the others!

Hermya321 · 13/05/2010 08:59

Nymph Sorry I brought politics onto here, tbh I was fed up of people moaning at me on facebook. Are you feeling better today?

Tired I'm sticking with underwired, I don't really want to go into saggy boob land. I think as long as you're careful that they fit well you'll be fine.

Seashells I think I could feel LO rolling around on my hand this morning. I'm still lying on my tummy at the moment so I think thats why I could feel it. I'm definately getting more kicks now as well. It's a very weird sensation, kind of like being flicked from the inside.

OP posts:
Nymphadora · 13/05/2010 09:32

I'm sticking with underwired as I remember the hell of BF bras and am sticking to normal ones as long as possible!

hermya nothing major politics wise was just stopping it in case it started! But the question is will we get our health in pg before they scrap it!

Was feeling ok this am V good sleep and not much in the way of dreams which usually means its pretty solid. BUT then walking back through the market went a bit over board on plants & a few books and had to carry them home.

Have GP appt for tomorrow am , don't let me forget!

Meanbeansmum · 13/05/2010 09:35

Morning!

21 weeks tomorrow! It's been the SLOWEST week for some reason! I hope you are all well, I have no chance of keeping up with this thread with 3 kids to run around after and a house that is a permanant pigsty (courtesy of the three kids and a husband).

LOL at you all talking politics, very emotive subject at the moment, my fb has exploded too!

Big snogs to all mums and bumps.xxxx

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 13/05/2010 09:38

Ah, well I empathise with that Nymph. It will settle down very soon, I haven't got hugely involved as I am at saturation point in RL as most of our friends are professional political ranters! Luckily they are also vast maj lefty so it's been bareable

Hermya- that's it! Cute little flicks going " hello I'm here!" I can still just about sleep on my front, not sure for how much longer.

DillyDora · 13/05/2010 10:08

Mornin' all!

Hermya you can also look for Debenhams maternity stuff online ... though yeah, trying it on is really the only way. Didn't notice the short legs cos I've only got stumpy little legs myself!

Still wearing my 'old' bras mostly, only a c cup so still in underwires too, I lost a bit of weight before I got pg so was down to a b or an a so now I can just dig out the others from before - cheap and convenient for the mo.

This morning's top spam names:

Tova Christine

Philomena Heidi

Don't say I never do anything for you....

RooBear · 13/05/2010 11:09

Good morning ladies, just been telling the other oct thread about my big hormonal moment last night- Spent 2 hours crying because I hadn't time to make dinner and wash up-even though I do it every night! Think it was my nesting instinct kicking in because when DH asked where dinner was I got mad and starting going on about how I don't have time to clean out the oven and inside of the cupboards and the house was such a mess-it wasn't! Bless him he just made me a cup of tea and put me on the sofa! x don't think hes heard me shout before

sam12 · 13/05/2010 11:28

tired and others who were saying they want their underwires- I was looking on the internet last night for bras (I think it is about time I got some new ones) and at Debenhams they have some maternity ones that are underwired- some special type of wire or the way they fit that makes them suitable for pg. Maybe worth a look?

bloomingbex · 13/05/2010 12:28

Afternoon ladies

I've been into my local independent underwear shop a couple of times now coz my boobs have exploded (gone from a DD to a G so far!!)

I asked if I could still wear underwired as I HATE non underwired bras. The shop assistant told me it is absolutely fine to wear underwire as long as you make sure your breast fits fully in the cup, meaning that the underwire is not digging into your breast tissue.

She did say I'll probably have to give up the underwire nearer my due date though

DillyDora · 13/05/2010 12:33

Thank you, bb for that excellent advice from your local independent retailer! Glad to hear the wires aren't doing anything bad...

Soooo hard to focus at work...soooo bored.
x

shieldbug · 13/05/2010 12:38

fun, fun; this afternoon I'm going to learn how to use liquid nitrogen safely! In my sad world, this is quite exciting! Don't you wish you were all scientists? (I'm sure some of you are..any more biologists out there?).

bloomingbex · 13/05/2010 13:24

My pleasure Dilly Shieldbug Your afternoon sounds much more fun than mine, sitting behind a desk trying to look busy!

I'm not a scientist but maybe I should consider it

Hermya321 · 13/05/2010 15:25

Talking of hormonal moments, someone gave me some maternity trousers which were straight leg. I actually cried as they were so horrid (not in front of them though).

I'm also getting very bad preghead as well, had to ask everyone about three times how they took their tea despite the fact that theres a list on the wall in the kitchen at work.

Tis shaming.

OP posts:
PatsyIsPreggers · 13/05/2010 15:32

Preghead is awful, isn't it?! keep completely blanking on certain words and sit in meetings gawping like a goldfish...

Just tried to put an exclamation at the end of that sentence and couldn't for the life of me find it on the keyboard... it's getting worse ! Found it again!!!!!!

lilmissmummy · 13/05/2010 17:09

My belly has a heart beat

Went to the midwife today and heard the babys heartbeat. She couldn't find it at first but my naughty baby was hiding deep in my pelvis! Was also diagnosed with SPD. So I have been referred to a physio. This is baby number 3 and never had this symptom before I think will have completely fallen apart by October as I suffered with my other two with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Oh well, I will just sit on a gym ball all day watching TV.

I am glad I am not the overly hormonal one. I cry at the vodaphone advert every time (the one where the girl rings up her dad and says that he's dumped her and he leaves his meeting and goes to find her )

Preghead is terrible. I couldnt figure out how to tell the time on a 24 hour clock AND yesterday couldn't spell 'decision' or 'extremely' and my interpretation of them was so bad that even the spell check couldn't work out what I was trying to spell!

lilmissmummy · 13/05/2010 17:13

Oh and bra's I am still in an underwired one at the moment. I have gone up to an F but I bought 2 maternity bras in mothercare and they were awful, I changed them for different sizes and they just did not fit. So have given up and thrown a strop about it so I am not going to bother buying a maternity bra until it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
