AbFabT · 11/05/2010 14:22

He'll be pleased to hear you think so, bex!
I know! I love his different looks! It's like I have a new man every few months!

Katy, and a few surrounding, who may well end up on the 10th too! I'll have to keep my legs crossed for six days!

Xavielli · 11/05/2010 14:39

I'd love to get 10/10/10!! If this baby is as early as DS was it could come on the 4th... so it's possible!

Nymphadora · 11/05/2010 15:01

Had hosp appt (inbetween making friends with Spanish ladies on the Apple help line)

Waited for ages but MW was nice & helpful & cleared up loads of the stuff from the other one(didn't even have EDD on! Some of the blood test forms were wrong so it was a good job I didn't have them done. And she managed to combine them so they took less. She hunted down a lady to take my blood to save me going to th epath lab and she was great! Only got a tiny hole in my hand. She had an awful job finding veins to use though.

Then I saw the consultant who was nice. She listened to me took me seriously. discussed BP/meds/heart rate. Not to worry but to rest and not to go back to work if I'm not right (very firm on that, especially after she asked me where I worked!) , kept saying my health in most important.

Seeing her again in 4 weeks as she would rather see me and check everything is ok again before me alternating between her & hosp midwife.

Asked about when a section would be (assuming I don't go into labour). Usually 39 weeks but she does hers on Tues which makes me either 38.6 or39.6 and she said she would prefer earlier rather than later due to potential BP problems etc so likely to be 5th/12th October

floozietoozie · 11/05/2010 15:10

Dilly, that's hilarious. My mums name is Merle and one of my friends has two daughters named Corinna and Isabel. What's the odds of that?

Well I've just had a pretty unsettling experience. This morning I tried to contact the counsellor midwife who I spoke to two weeks ago about possibly having the amnio. She wasn't very helpful,in fact she positively put my back up with some o the things she said. Anyway I said I wasn't sure what I was going to do but she suggested provisionally making an appt. I agreed to that because I could cancel it if necessary and she said she would make one then get on touch with me. We definitely did not make a firm date. This morning I tried to ring her with no success to findout if she had made the appt and also to find out if they gave individual consultants stats on miscarriage rates. About 20 mins ago I had a phonecall from the hospital to find out if I was ok because apparently I was supposed to be having an amnio at 2pm!!!! so I'm now furious with her for making the appt without letting me know and worried if I decide to have it on the nhs that it'll take weeks now because I missed this one through no fault of my own. I also feel quite upset about the whole thing and am finding it difficult to concentrate on work.

DillyDora · 11/05/2010 15:11

Hurray Nymph at last you had a decent appointment! Brilliant. Sounds all very organised at last. Now you can put your feet up and have a cuppa (the doc says so!)

Katy86 · 11/05/2010 15:28

floozie im sorry youre having such a hard time, i hope things get better.

Nymph sounds like youve had a good eperience with your consultant etc really happy for you x

AbFabT · 11/05/2010 15:32

About time you got looked after, Nymph. Good news! Hope everything goes well for you from now.

Shame about your situation though, floozie. Not good. Are you feeling any closer to deciding if you do want to do it though? Maybe this clarified things in your head?

DillyDora · 11/05/2010 16:09

OMG Floozie are you telling me your mum and your friend's daughters have been sending out these spam emails...why that's just terrible! I actually kind of love the name Merle... I like original names.

Now, I cross posted with you before, I'm so sorry about what happened about the amnio appointment, not what you need. Yeah, I'm with AbFab how are you doing with deciding? Is there anything we can do to help?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 11/05/2010 16:29

Ooh, AbFab, am thinking Wolverine with that wacky moustache.

Have been a bit awol as my tinternet connection is crap at the mo. Just managing to get my Dr Who and A2A downloads.

Had midwife yesterday and saw doc. Couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler so saw baby again, wriggling away. Also found an osteopath here who had me sorted out in 20 minutes flat! I was impressed and hopeful that the SPD can be controlled.

DS3's hand foot and mouth now cleared up and he's much happier.

Nymph, glad you've had a better experience but {shock] floozie. Can you have a private amnio?

As for dates, am thinking being 2 days overdue and having 01.11.10 is pretty good - a palindrome. Sort of.

DillyDora · 11/05/2010 16:37

Nooo ILGH SPD? How did I miss that. So sorry but glad you have found genius osteopath.

Oooh lovely, just found a packet of malted milks in my desk drawer...

AbFabT · 11/05/2010 16:41

ILGH, oh yeah, I think he likes the Wolverine comparisons too!

Good to have you back. And glad your back is good!

01.11.10 is a great date too! Ooh, I love it!

I still think I might end up in September, just because my mum was slightly early with her three children. I'll be 37 weeks on the 13th September, so I'll be very happy with anything from then.

DillyDora · 11/05/2010 17:00

Hey - does anyone else get sharp, shooting (stabbing?) pains in their breasts sometimes? I thought quite a few of us did and thought it was nothing to worry about ....umm...only now I've started to worry (ahem )
x

Hermya321 · 11/05/2010 17:04

Floozie Thats terrible, I would defo complain if I were you. I hope things get better for you soon.

I've just had some maternity stuff delivered from ebay that I bought. All the jeans were huge and fell right down, so I must have lost more weight than I thought I had. I still haven't put any of it back on yet. The tops as well look massive as well, I suppose it's just my own misguided sense of how big a bump can get. Oh I dunno, well I've got it now for when I need it.

OP posts:
Nymphadora · 11/05/2010 17:07

dilly I get them. They are like the let down which comes with your milk. I can only assume its milk ducts doing something

ILGH I missed the SPD too. Did you have it last time?

AbFabT · 11/05/2010 17:08

Me me me, Dilly! Quite weird! Passes really quickly though, and it hasn't worried me. Would check with your m/w if you are worried though.

Sorry the eBay clothes don't fit, Hermya. Hope you grow into them, or can adapt things somehow?

AbFabT · 11/05/2010 17:12

Hm, milk ducts! That sounds plausible, Nymph.

Hermya321 · 11/05/2010 17:14

Abfab I think I'm going to wait until my bump comes in before I totally give up on them, if not I'll just sell them on.

floozietoozie · 11/05/2010 17:17

Hi again, quick update. It's all turned out better than I could have hoped. The m/w was very nice and apologetic when she called. I asked about getting stats on individual consultants here and she said they don't do that BUT then she offered me an appt next week with the guy who I had the scan with privately who I know has the 1:300 risk rate. So I get him without having to pay £400. It has clarified my mind, yes, I have to know. The amnio will be a bit later than ideal, I could possibly have had it this week with someone else but if I'm doing it I want to lower the odds as much possible. So now I have 10 days of shitting myself, excuse language, but at least I've made the decision. Thanks for putting up with my ramblings on this subject and for all your support.. xxx

Thirdtimer · 11/05/2010 17:22

Okay so latest update... blimey, one weekend away and I'm pages behind!
Word is spreading, so is girth, now 17wks and feels loads of pokes and wiggles, not told work yet but getting obvious!
Missed question time earlier but do have wedding at end of Aug when will be a truly house-like 31.5 weeks. Will presumably wear tent. And in France following week for last holiday before the big event.
Have names planned - not telling! Not finding out sex either.
As for kids telly... anything from Cosgrove Hall is pretty good (especially Roary, with peter Kay - hilarious whatever your age) same goes for Shaun the Sheep and Charlie and Lola is very good too. Other than that it's all brain-numbing, intelligence draining cr*p... i know that... but sometimes it just buys me five minutes and I don't care!!!

AbFabT · 11/05/2010 17:27

I am pleased for you, floozie. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice on the TV for children, 3rd. It was me who asked. I can't stand Peter Kay though, so might give that one a miss!

bloomingbex · 11/05/2010 17:32

Good luck Floozie Good news that you got the guy you wanted.

I've just had several large kicks to the abdomen. Either this baby is going to be a footballer or part of Riverdance

Such a lovely feeling
