Evening all! I hope everyone's feeling ok at the moment. Sevans, I've got my fingers crossed that everything will turn out fine for you! NHS is useless at weekends, isn't it?

Not much to report here, I've managed to keep the MS that's been brewing under control by the wonder that is ginger biscuits. Several times now I've grabbed a ginger biscuit as a last resort after trying various other things (or more recently as soon as the problem looms!) and within minutes after consumption I've felt absolutely fine.

... Weird. But I'm not complaining about my apparent miracle cure!

emmamme · 28/11/2009 21:16

Evening doodles.

We have spent the day moving furniture and toys into my dd's new room.

Totally wiped out now and ready for some comfort munching.

Now what do you all think... I have to call for my scan next week BUT chances are it wont be until early Jan, so should I get a private one done so that we have pics to share at Christmas and can finally tell people? We have a weekend in London in a couple of weeks (first alone since dd was born) so wonder whether to get it done there as they are cheaper £75 rather than £140.

Anyhoo hope all are well

sevans I had spotting with my dd, infact thought my period was starting...didnt know I was pg! Im sure you will be fine but ill still cross everything I can for you. x

Gracie123 hope you get a dress sorted. Take some nibbles on your bag, ginger biscuits etc. Hope the night goes quickly and you have a little fun x

Oh forgot to add re MS fizzy drinks work for me. I normally only really drink water but when pg fizzy diet lemonade etc help loads....might help someone out there...

Right im off to raid the fridge... xx

TishTosh21 · 28/11/2009 21:35

im sooooooooooooo bloated. Went xmas shopping with DP today, had a KFC for dinner and then a milkshake about an hour later. On the drive home my stomach was literally the size of an inflated balloon and felt like skin was stretching as was itchy and prickly.

Does anyone else get insanely bloated after eating a normal sized meal? Is this one of the joyous side effects of pregnancy?

Firerise · 29/11/2009 08:44

Morning all! How is everyone feeling today?

I had my appointment at the epau on Friday and we saw our bean which is only 4mm but has a heart beat!

They also told me I have a strange cystic area showing up which wasn't there on the last to scans so another scan due on 9th to keep an eye on hats going on but looks like the baby is ok! I feel bad that somepeople are struggling to get just one scan before Xmas whilst I have the most photographed uterus in the south!

We told my brother and SIL to be as we went bridesmaids dress shopping yesterday and they were really cool about it. Huge relief! I have ordered my dress but they ordered it in a uk size 22 and then will just take in the bust!!!! I am currently a 16 and it was so wierd to stand in a dress that totally swamped me thinking that by April I will be an elephantine bridesmaid that fills it out! The other bridesmaid is size 6 which didn't help!!!!

Off to buy lots of big knee length baggy jumpers to wear with leggings to hide my bloated belly as I am convinced people will start to notice!

Hope you all have a lovely sunday x

beckyg123 · 29/11/2009 10:16

Morning,

Not been sick this morning, Yeh! However I have got a constant nauseas feeling going on.

Sevans and Whatshesaid, I really hope everything works out okay for you both. I also had a small bleed 2 weekends ago and it was hell waiting til Monday to get any support, we then couldn?t be scanned til the tues! I was having nightmares from previous MC and was ill with worry. The nhs here really don?t seem to understand the levels of anxiety we have at these times. In the end my scan was fine, baby developing well and bleeding has stopped (fingers crossed!).

Firerise, glad to hear your scan went well, hope the cystic area isn?t too much to worry about. Was laughing at your bridemaid dress story, I was 1 of 4 bridesmaids for a friend in may, my dress was a 16 and the others were 2 six?s and a 4!!! The bride was a 12. However I felt great and we all had a great day. I?m sure you will too.

I?m seriously giving myself a talking too about the things I?m eating, we have been TTC for ages and I have been healthy eating and exercising loads for all this time. I?ve lost over 2 stone and feel really proud of myself however over the last few weeks since finding out I am systematically undoing all the hard work!!! So I?m back to the healthy eating TODAY!!! No excuses! It is so easy to eat crap knowing I?m going to get fat anyway but I?m sure I?ll feel so much better if I turn it around now. I thought if I come on here and tell you all then I might stick to it! Really want to be a healthy mum!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Emster30 · 29/11/2009 11:59

Hello all! I'm 7 weeks today, yay. We've just had the inlaws to stay last night and it was nice telling them, they were so delighted. I think I'm going to be very well looked after at Christmas, I don't think anyone's going to let me lift a finger! It was really nice calling my SIL and BIL and grandmother in law as well to tell them all the good news.

We've told pretty much all the people we plan to tell before 12 weeks now which is a shame in a way - it's so nice telling people, everyone is so happy and excited for us.

I'm discovering I can't stand up for great lengths of time any more. I went out for someone's leaving drinks on Friday and there wasn't anywhere to sit, and I felt awful after an hour and a half. Then yesterday I was at a choir recording session all day and we had to stand all the time. I grabbed a chair and sat on it between takes and I had all the old dears saying "I don't know why you need to sit down, you're young and healthy" but I did really have to sit down. I think I overdid it a bit, I felt terrible by the end.

WestYorkshireGirl · 29/11/2009 12:55

Well, I feel a bit of a fraud as still no symptoms for me apart from tiredness. Had a very busy day yesterday as did a bit of Christmas shopping - have done everything online so this was my one and only visit to the shops and I reasoned I may not feel up to it in a few weeks. There was a French market on and I swear the cheese was calling to me (it looked delicious - maybe more so as I knew I couldn't eat most of it!!)

Felt fine, then came home, cleaned the house, walked dog and cooked tea. It hit me about 8pm and in bed for 10pm! DH working today so up at 5am and I have been finding that I have to eat breakfast as soon as I wake up so got up, had breakfast then went back to bed and didn't wake up till 9am (not like me)! So apart from the tiredness, slightly dodgy skin (e.g. spotty) and sore boobs, not much to say I am pg!!

Hope you are all not feeling too bad today. I am going to make mince pies now!

GhoulsAreLoud · 29/11/2009 17:24

Hi everyone, have been rubbish at keeping up with this thread, sorry!

I'm so relieved to hear that other people have been eating rubbish too. We're having a new kitchen fitted so we've been eating out loads. Also bought a load of junk in Sainsbury's today

I think I'm going to need to start wearing maternity trousers soon, am only 9 weeks Didn't show til gone 20 weeks with DD.

I know they say you show sooner with subsequent babies, but wasn't expecting this!

TishTosh21 · 29/11/2009 17:52

im not even 8 weeks yet and i cant fit into my jeans, they cut me in 2. I had to undo my top button on the way home from shopping yesterday. I know they say your waistline will expand but this is a bit fast a bit soon! That and bloating is leaving me with no choice but to wear leggings/ joggers.

Ive eaten crap all weekend, burger king fri night, KFC last night and pizza tonight!

WhatSheSaid · 29/11/2009 18:19

Beckyg123 thanks . Have had a bit more spotting over the w/end but still v light. No scan for me here unless it gets worse. Still feel quite sick and tired which is a good sign.

kittykat77 · 29/11/2009 18:19

so glad that I am not the only one with a massive tummy already! I have been wearing joggers all weekend - fortunately we haven't really been out anywhere!
Have not been feeling quite so sick today - so DH and I have cleaned the whole house and put up the xmas tree... a little early but at least it doesn't matter now if I feel crap for the next few weeks!

mousemole · 29/11/2009 18:47

hey Tobago, welcome ! Great to see you on here instead of the TTc threads !
Seems bloating is a common theme and glad I am not the only one constantly wearing tracksuits bottoms and leggings. This is pregnancy number 3 and I have literally exploded. YUK. So hard to eat healthily when the weather is so cold and dark. I am just craving stodge. Got a scan on tuesday so looking forward to that, it's a private one so will be interesting to see what it's like.
Happy Sunday everyone, here's to our big bumps xx

BettyButterknife · 29/11/2009 19:27

Hi everyone

I too have had to choose my clothes carefully - I even wore a pair of maternity jeans on Friday but they kept falling down - was a bit ridiculous, really.

Lordy, my MS has really accelerated this week, and I've had a dreadful weekend. Haven't left the house once! DH has been an angel, looking after DS and going out to get whatever food I think I might be able to tolerate at that particular moment. Really hope it subsides soon (I'm 7+3) as we're off to Paris on Wednesday for a short break without DS.

Got some sea bands yesterday which seem to help a little. Also think it helps to eat little and often rather than risking an empty stomach. Any other tips?

Have also been exhausted - not got out of my pjs all weekend - and really not sure I can face work tomorrow.

It definitely wasn't this bad when I was pg with DS! Perhaps it's a girl... you're supposed to be sickier with a girl, aren't you?

Hope everyone is holding up ok, thinking of the ones who are worried x

WickedWitchSouthWest · 29/11/2009 19:45

hello lovely ladies!

Sorry for extended absence, I had another bad week of ms, and we were on hols last week in center parcs. Apart from the worst week of ms so far, I had a great time! dd loved it and was quite happy for dh to take her on the slides instead of me

I can't believe how ill I feel this time! betty it's funny you saying you were thinking it's a girl coz you feel worse, I was thinking it must be a boy this time coz I feel so bad! Still haven't found any seabands, hoping a bigger pharmacy might have them.

betty other than eating little and often, peeing regularly and drinking plenty I really don't have any tips...

I've also resorted to maternity jeans I started on them last week with a belt on monday, by thursday the belt was a goner! I have pulled the elastic strips in quite a way though. Thankfully the rack has evened out at 36C (from a 32B a couple of weeks ago) and not so painful now.

welcome tobago and all other newbies! It's great to see familiar names turning up!

I'm off to attempt a catch up

Hope everyone is well...

kinnies · 29/11/2009 19:50

Hi everyone,

This thread moves so fast!

I'm glad it seems to be settiling down whatshesaid and your spot on about the ms being a v. good sign.

I really want my booking in appointment now now now!! but I've been told that I have to wait for mw to phone me and hopfully it should be before xmas !
At my last gp's they seemed to let you know about scan dates and stuff within a week or so of telling them about being pregnant, so I just feel a bit lost atm.
I know I dont need dr or mw to do anything but it just seems a bit more real when they give you your pregnancy notes and leaflets to paw over.

I've been a bit of a cow to dh but he just keeps being nicer and more loving so he must like it really
back to fending for myself tomorrow though as hes back to work and we didnt win the lottery so will have to get used to making my own drinks ect I need staff....

winjy · 29/11/2009 20:10

hello!!

can i join?? im 5+3...waiting for appointment from epu hopefully il get one before xmas to put my mind at rest...i mc in july at 8 weeks so keeping everything crossed that things will go ok..im the same with the pregnancy tests...iv done 5 altogether!! costs a bloody fortune but worth it when that little line turns...and goes darker and darker...done 2 digi tests too within a week of eachother and the second one put me a week on so thats reassured me...just wish i could shout it from the rooftops!! this is my first...

how are u all xxx

dizzykath · 29/11/2009 20:25

Hiya all. New to this thread. 7 wks 3 days. and feeling bit bloated and extremely tired.
Winjy I know how you feel. I mc in feb and have been very worried this time. I had a private scan on thurs which showed a heart beat and correct size but still can;t stop worrying about cramps along side of tummy.
I feel like I might have to book another private scan brfore 12 weeks to keep sane....

TishTosh21 · 29/11/2009 20:45

can i just ask, how much on avg are private scans??

WinterMadness · 29/11/2009 20:52

I think it varies around the country Tishtosh - the place I'm going to is £70 for the scan but I'm having the nuchal translucency testing so it's included in the price of that.

TishTosh21 · 29/11/2009 21:22

Thanks wintermadness. I think i might as well wait til the nhs 12 week scan now. Im just sick of worrying something is wrong, i feel o symptoms. I dont want to hear bad news at the scan

TishTosh21 · 29/11/2009 21:22

no symptoms*

tobago04 · 29/11/2009 21:28

Evening everyone, hello wwsw and mousemole ,
Had busy day today with dd2 3rd birthday party,DH said this morning that we should'nt tell anyone yet, fast forward to this evening and several beers later and he has told everyone at the party

kittykat77 · 29/11/2009 21:45

Oh no tobago! My DH is also rubbish about keeping his mouth shut. I have my works xmas do next weekend - and I am so worried that DH not be able to keep this quiet. It will be hard enough trying to dream up an excuse as to why I am not drinking..., without DH making it worse!

tobago04 · 29/11/2009 21:55

I know, good job it's our third so not too bothered,i have'nt told my parents yet though!
It is hard keeping quite though,it's just starting to sink in and now i'm thinking we must be mad,bit worried about telling my parents to be honest too,i've got 2dds who are 4.7 and 3,god we are going to have a mad house
