Gosh, we've gabbed our way to 1000 already!

I too am eating like a student - the shame of it!

stac14 · 31/12/2009 11:17

winter you poor thing, i'm bad enough waking for the loo. Hope ds is ok, did you get a docs app?

Our hospital is the same at the emergency entrance for maternity wing only has 3 parking spaces and you need to pay for parking so who knows how we will manage that lol.
Hows everyone today? I was crampy again last night but now it feels like trapped wind, i'm either one way or the other just now. Got to go to shops for munchies for tonight and do housework, so cant be bothered xx

Chulita · 31/12/2009 12:14

winter I'm in there with you, DD's got an ear infection and is cutting 3 or maybe 4 teeth at the same time - night time is horrendous at the minute. You have my sympathies!

Spirael · 31/12/2009 14:35

Afternoon all! Been a bit slack over Christmas and not kept up with the thread, sorry. I've had a quick skim through, but my brain seems to be failing to recall much now that I actually come to post. Not a good sign, I'm guessing... When is baby-brain meant to kick in?? Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time - or as good as the in-laws permitted!

Not much to report here... Had a MW appointment a couple of days ago and she was able to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was encouraging. Especially since she was warning me beforehand that it might be too early to hear anything yet, as I was only 10+something at the time. Hearing the heartbeat means I can relax a little over the next week or two until my NHS scan.

MW doesn't want to see me again until after 16 weeks, however. Is that normal? I was getting used to being seen every two weeks or so! Though admittedly this last time might have only been because she failed to extract any blood the time before, so needed to try again.

I hope everything is going ok for everyone else. Though my heartfelt sympathies to Darydork, if she's still checking in. I hope many wonderful things in the future will ease the pain of this tragedy. Take care of yourself!

Those people a few weeks ahead, has the morning sickness eased off yet?? I'm desperately clinging to the hope that I only have another week or two to get through, then I can start to feel vaguely human again! I'm getting sick of feeling sick now, and tired of being so tired!!

WinterMadness · 31/12/2009 16:23

Thanks everyone. He's been crying all day for the 6th day on the trot. All doctor said was try Calpol (oh thanks, never thought of that one) and piriton to dry his runny nose out might make him sleep. Won't hold my breath.

Chulita · 31/12/2009 18:44

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm going to be heading to bed in about an hour (I kid you not). I'm so tired, my cold's getting worse and I know DD will be up around 11pm again. Anyone out the other side of the vomiting/crippling tiredness yet that can give me and spirael some hope?

Someone let me know when the New Year is in - Good night and may the next year bring us all chubby babies and not so chubby bellies when the time comes

GibbonInARibbon · 31/12/2009 20:15

Happy new year one and all and to those who are poorly/have poorly DC I hope you get some respite tonight x

stac14 · 31/12/2009 21:07

Happy new year to you all, hope the kids are better soon. Luv and hugs 2 everyone and thier bumps, speak to you in the new year xxx

WickedWitchSouthWest · 01/01/2010 01:43

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

berberis sorry I missed your question before! I'm doing pregnancy yoga this one which I used all through when pg with dd and loved it. You follow one of the three preggos doing the routine dependent on the trimester you are in. I found the breathing really helpful in labour too.

emster yay congrats! I love your scan pic

beckyg hope scan went well

gibbon/trudy that is a mean thing to do to our pregnant brains!! Naughty! Twas a good name though

winter hope your sproglet is ok alkl night screaming sessions - am SO not looking forward to those again!

hey spirael! I had booking in with the mw at about 11 wks and don't get seen again til 15 (just over a week now!) so it sounds about right to me. My ms went at 12 weeks, thank god! I'm pretty much back to normal now, but still struggling with the smell of fish and I can't eat curry anymore I will have to try my fave takeaway place and see if that's different to homemade...Still also have irrational joy at raw jelly

chulita please have some very un-mn hugs, hope you get some sleep. My sinuses have just cleared after a week of hell so I do sympathise. As for the tiredness, I still get knackered mid afternoon! Just waiting for the surge of energy to hit but at the same time I can't sleep. Not fun...and not looking forward to the school run next week!

WinterMadness · 01/01/2010 07:11

Happy new year everyone!!! I fell asleep on the couch at 10.45, woke up at 11.45, watched Big Ben chime then went straight to bed! Oh I'm hardcore I am

Emster30 · 01/01/2010 12:37

Happy New Year everybody - we're having our babies this year!

I had a fairly crappy NYE - we were going to a party right the other side of London and it took over 1.5 hours to drive each way, stressful aggressive London driving, and then I hardly knew anyone at the party and those I did know, including my DH, were outside smoking all evening. Plus everyone else was absolutely hammered and I was stone cold sober. Did get out the scan pic though!

berberis · 01/01/2010 12:55

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope all bumps are doing well. We went to local pub for a meal last night but left at 10pm (realise how noisy pubs are when am sober! oh dear) and I fell asleep on sofa at 11pm. Was nice to be cosy by the fire though.

I had my scan yesterday (12+5) which was very long and detailed, but wonderful. I'd seen baby at 10+4 for earlier scan (which was supposed to be 11 weeks but was few days out) and the change was amazing - s/he's twice as long, 7cm!!! Need to find a way to upload the pic to here.

emster lovely scan pic!

wickedwitch thank you, was trying to work out which would be good yoga one, that looks good.

Have a good day everyone xxx

Good Afternoon ladies

Wow I can't believe how many of us due in July 2010!!

I'm expecting my first bundle of joy on the 22nd July ... having read through some comments I can see the bosoms threatening to take over the world is not just me, which is reassuring (seems backwards though that they're looking so fabulous but hurt far too much for any enjoyment!) Am off to m/care next week after my scan for some new bras as I've grown out of everything I own already.

Wanted to ask, any of you who already have a little one, is it normal for my clothes to be cutting in already? I naively believed that until about four months I would have the gentlest of belly curves but already my trousers make me feel sick and I have to roll everything down to make it comfy. Brought some mens pj's the other week thinking they would do me well, but the bottoms cut in so much they make me feel sick - yet they're baggy everywhere else, even on the ginormous boobies! I'm only 11 weeks - going for my first scan next week - is this an indication that I'll be the size of a beached whale by summer?

Anyway congratulations to everyone here, it's nice to hook up with some people in the same stage of pregnancy as me!!

Oh and BTW, Tish Tosh 21, well done for quitting the evil cigs ... I'm struggling but have successfully got down to a couple a day and am going to start attending expectant mums quitting sessions at my local surgery which should help. Also DH is quitting with me so moral support is good ... x

WinterMadness · 01/01/2010 14:55

welcome to the thread totalrockchick

I was in maternity jeans by about 14 or 15 weeks with my 1st. I can still wear my normal jeans now at 13 weeks with my second but everyone's different. I know some people who've started maternity wear at 10 weeks and others still their normal jeans at 20 weeks. Whatever your shape and size just go with the flow It has just occurred to me I'd better try my work trousers on before 5th Jan as I haven't worn them in a month and may be in trouble, lol.

tsc sounds like you outdid us all last night. I'm envious you could even stay awake nevermind host a party!

This is silly, but I don't feel pregnant today...just tired. I have the belly obviously but I'm starting to let the paranoid thoughts come in, keep panicking that I'm going to see the mw and she won't find the heartbeat. I desperately want to feel some movement Do you think the mw would think I was mad if I turned up at the practice on Monday begging for her to get the doppler out? I'm back to knicker checking and obsessing over all the twinges and I don't like it. Am I going mad or is anyone else worrying too much?

congrats on the scan berberis! I looked in my book the other day and couldn't believe that we would have already hit 4 inches!

Well I think tsc should get the prize for the best new year! We spent the evening at home with my dad (mum poorly) and went outside at midnight with the neighbours to check out all the fireworks going off. Had a mouthful of wine with food then a dash of champers in some oj and felt a little tipsy

welcome to the mad house thread totalrockchick! Congrats on your bfp I've been in maternity jeans since about 10 weeks I think (am 14+2 now) and otherwise living in leggings and loose t shirt type dresses. I had a lovely maternity dress and leggings for xmas from my parents but frustratingly they're a bit big at the moment! I was pg with my dd through winter (she's an April baby) so wasn't expecting to need my maternity stuff from her but I'm going to send dh into the loft to get it all down (I say all, I think there's 4 t shirts, a wrap dress, so smart trousers and a skirt). I've added you to our little list, if there's any other info please feel free to add it or shout and someone will do it. Oh and good luck with the fag quitting!

Thanks rockchick Ive been 6 weeks without one now but DP isnt making it easy at all, in fact just had an argument about it now, he doesnt want to give up which i dont care about but rather he didnt anounce when he is going out for one and didnt smoke in front of me cos i really dont want to see it. He said im having digs at him and i am now really really annoyed and a little upset

Scan on Tues woo....

WickedWitchSouthWest · 01/01/2010 23:16

Aw tish that's not fair. A friend of mine had a similar problem but she found out that the harmful chemicals in fag smoke lingered on the breath for up to 20 minutes (don't ask me where she got that from, but I can find out!) after smoking so she banned her dh from going near her or the baby (once he was born). He gave up a few months after their ds1 was born...

stac14 · 01/01/2010 23:33

Hey wwsw I have been the same over the weekend, we are going for our 12 week scan on wednesday and as I have been crampy for the past couple of days I have been obsessively knicker checking and feeling as if I am soggy (down there sorry for tmi) hope its just my paranoia but totally agree wish I could feel the baby so I would know its ok. Good to know I'm not the only one with an ocd lol

Welcome to the thread rockchick it's so hard giving up smoking, I had stopped while ttc but always smoked when I was drinking so since I havent had a drink I havent smoked lol I'm sure you will manage it hun good luck

tsc when our friend brother past away a few weeks ago I had a couple and felt awful for it but everyone was smoking round me, luckily dp only smokes when drinking too so I dont have to put up with it much.

Hi to everyone else, hope your all well xxx

tsc I am on the other july thread, not the quiet one its called babys due in july 2010 the girls are really nice there too, suppose it save making a new thread lol
I'm defo not having twins my scans showed only on heartbeat, wonder who it could be? xx

stac14 · 02/01/2010 00:27

here is the link to the other thread
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/869258-Babies-due-in-July-2010-the-start-of-an-exciting?msgid=1779841 8
hope this helps xx

Emster30 · 02/01/2010 10:12

I was reading through some of the July 2009 threads in the archive just to see what people posted at different times (and yes, whether anyone had had unexpected bad news at a 12 week scan - don't think anyone did), and they had LOADS of twins on that thread, maybe about 10%! I'm sure we're due at least one set here.

I was very glad not to be having twins but secretly a tiny bit disappointed. I dreamt last night that my SIL got pg with triplets and got all the family attention and my baby was totally forgotten!

stac14 · 02/01/2010 10:47

emster I'm hoping that as we have already seen a strong heartbeat everything will be fine on wednesday, think its natural to be a bit worried. Whens your 12 week scan?
Anyones nausea turning into heartburn? I had it for past couple of days hoping nausea is leaving but was hoping to get a repreave before heartburn kicked in lol. Also has anyone felt flutterings? I'm not sure if it was just trapped wind as i am only 12weeks today, yay!!!

stac14 · 02/01/2010 10:50

oh meant to say fluttering only happened last night but as i say could be trapped wind x
