Yay - we have a new thread!!

FRAZZLES - OMG, they are soooo appealing to me right now! AND cheese and bean toasties AND grilled cheese sandwiches...

However, the reality is that when I cook them I end up pushing the plate away cos I just can't face them anymore. Had three potato waffles for tea last night...

Well done TishTosh - you're doing a great job with the ciggies!

x

gracie, I will try that then - extra in bath (I use a "swoosh", prob 2-3 caps) every day for a while. Eeek I don't use Johnson's anything (yuck). I run an eco/organic/fair trade baby stuff store so I have lovely gentle SLS and parabens free stuff on tap and organic cotton clothes at trade price I'll see how it goes. Cheers.

Has anyone else had any experience of food intolerance causing eczema in their babies or children?

WinterMadness · 26/11/2009 12:48

Yes, carrots, I was allergic to milk until I reached my teens - caused terrible eczema and I suffered badly as a child. If it's any consolation I just grew out of it

Well done with the (lack of) fags Tishtosh!!!

CurlyCasper · 26/11/2009 12:52

There you are! I didn't think you could have honestly gone that quiet. Well done ski for sorting the new thread.

well, I went to GP today. He filled out a form, took BP and weight and gave me a copy of Emma's Diary and the free prescriptions form. Now have to wait for MWs to get in touch. He said it would prob be at about 12 weeks for blood tests, scan etc.

I thought there would be an appointment between now and 12 weeks, but I guess not.... so glad I'm having the private scan. Each appointment makes me feel like something is actually happening

CurlyCasper · 26/11/2009 12:53

p.s I am eating egg sandwiches, pretzels, a sausage roll and Jelly Tots. And drinking Dr Pepper. sooooo healthy!

givecarrotsachance · 26/11/2009 13:04

Thanks winter. casper weight? I've seen photos of tiny you so don't give me that .

Eww @ Emma's bloody patronising diary. I HATED that last time.

CurlyCasper · 26/11/2009 13:12

rots, I have put on about 3 stone since most of the photos on FB were taken! i knew there was some weight, but I saw the confirmation when I stood on those scales today!

violetbubbles · 26/11/2009 13:16

Who is Emma and why are they making you read her diary? Confused

NorkyButNice · 26/11/2009 13:19

I just ate a syrup sponge with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice-cream (healthy diet indeed!). If I'm going to be sick after eating it may as well be something that tastes nice!

skihorse · 26/11/2009 13:21

Casper "some weight" Yes, stretchy clothes are a godsend, at least we all have an excuse now! I'm so glad it all went well today. I've got to drop in at the hospital to get my bloods done which I'll probably do monday morning - there doesn't seem any enormous hurry as my next appt. isn't until 23rd Dec, so as long as they're back by then.

Well after a total carb overload I sent OH out to the supermarket yesterday on a fruit & veg mission as I was feeling so bleeuurgh all the time. n.b., I did have a kebab for dinner last night though. Disclaimer: Kebabs sold outside the UK are edible when sober and don't leave a greasy trail in their wake and also appear to contain what we like to call "meat".

givecarrotsachance · 26/11/2009 14:55

casper I've 3 stone heavier than before I had LC which is Not Good. Gonna be really careful this time round. I'd thought that breastfeeding would see it all just drop off, but for me it didn't. Obviously I would also have had to have eaten less, too!!

violet Emma is this fictional girl with a very lovely husband who wrote a diary of her pregnancy. It's all sweetness and f'in light. Given that with my last pregnancy I was going through abject hell with my former husband who wanted to rip the child from my womb, I didn't take it so well when she was talking about her lovely, supportive husband. Clearly this is entirely my problem and I'm sure that actually the diary is really useful and interesting!

ski I don't believe a word of it. It's clearly not actually a kebabm is it.

darydork · 26/11/2009 16:14

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well, well other than coping with MS and extreme tiredness that being pg brings.. i havnt posted in while been up to my eyes between one thing and another..

Welcome to all the newbies, its a very busy thread now..

Ive been laughing here at you all talking about what youve been eating, im the absolute pitts, i cant seem to stuff enuf crap into my mouth at the mo, im going to resemble the back end of a bus before the end of the 1st trimester at this rate! only decent meal im eating is dinner. think giving up the smokes is making me worse tho, this is my 3rd week off them, 2nd week without patches, hoping the worst is over me now..

Well done by the way tishtosh your doing great, do you find its gettting a bit easier?

GibbonInARibbon · 26/11/2009 16:17

Have to say Emma did get on my tits a tad too, I was much happier with my factual pregnancy books

iggypiggy · 26/11/2009 16:27

Hi everyone - feeling shit today - so am quite happy about that after the lack of symptoms before...

Am mainly made up of crisps today...

randomama · 26/11/2009 17:01

hey ladies,

feeling shit and eating shit here too

DP made 2 loaves of crusty white bread before he left the house this morning. There is only one left now . And half a pack of cheddar seems to have disappeared too...

tishtosh and darydork massive high fives re the smoking. i am now on 26 days. it is now a piece of piss. am going out on saturday night though so i reckon that'll be the hardest. thank god you can'rt smoke in pubs these days.

givecarrotsachance · 26/11/2009 17:11

Just wanted to say a huge congrats to those giving up smoking. As a life-time non-smoker I can't imagine how tough that is but clearly it's one of the most difficult things to quit.

Makes me feel guilty about how I can't give up food . But I have cut out the alcohol, for now at least, and I am missing that!

darydork · 26/11/2009 17:34

tanx carrot

hey randomama high five rite back at ya, well done, reckon we should be very proud eh! Hope you do ok on sat nite, it will be a big test but stay strong, i was out sunday just gone out & it was a massive challenge for me, felt i took a step backwards that day, but am very proud i got thru it (even if i didnt enjoy it) and am back on track in my mind again now

Gracie123 · 26/11/2009 18:07

My sister told me about Emma's diary, but I never got one. Not sure if that is a sad thing or not really...?

second You can't use Sauna/some of the steam rooms, but the leuconium, jacuzzi's hydrotherapy pool, reflexology baths, water beds, meditation garden, normal pool and fancy cafe is fine. They also come round and give you face/hair masks and free drinks and fresh fruit. It's a true pampering experience!

Evening all, still no proper ms but nearly up chucked in a lift when someone got in who had been smoking. I had to hold my breath for 3 floors! I am randomly craving raw spinach too? What's that all about? Also bought potato waffles last week for the first time in years.

Have my next appointment at the epau tomorrow morning so keeping fingers crossed. I feel fine in myself and have doubled in size so am positive they will give us the all clear after this scan.

Emster30 · 26/11/2009 19:16

Emma's Diary is shite, I agree. Plus my copy says Winter 2004/5 on it so it's all rather out of date.

I am So Goddamn Knackered this week. I have been feeling like I've been walking through treacle, as I think someone else posted on the last thread. Plus the tiredness makes me feel more sick. I told my boss yesterday who was LOVELY, so I've booked tomorrow as annual leave and am hoping to catch up on sleep. I'm busy all day and evening Saturday so I now feel I can deal with that if I have tomorrow off!

WinterMadness · 26/11/2009 19:17

I had KFC for lunch. It was very much anticipated, then I felt very let down! Rubbish
