I think we'll all feel better after our scans won't we. Trouble with finding out so early is having to wait so long for that first scan. I already feel like I have been pregnant an age

emmamme · 27/11/2009 16:20

Hi all

What a busy day....new hair, new woman!

Chinese for dinner tonight so life is good.

I also got the chance to tell people about being pg today which felt pretty good. My hairdresser doesnt know anyone that knows me so secret is safe.

CurlyCasper could be worse, I had all the symptoms and now they have gone. I have done a few more tests since and they are all really dark. Dr said its normal?? eekk

Gracie123 I may write a diary...just for you!

Anyone else on their 2nd/ 3rd etc child and feeling much more calm this time? Last time I was a state. Maybe im in shock?

Hope all ok x

spirael, WYG I'm a wakefield lass

Quickie on vaccine. I'm having it the minute I can. I'm healthy and not prone to stuff so seems the only right thing to do. That way it reduces the chance of me getting it and spreading it to someone who can't have the jab. Also worried about the serious consequences to even healthy pregnant women. Not worried about the safety of the jab to me or carrotseed. There's always the odd person who responds badly - but fewer than respond badly to the illness. I'm usually into natropathic everything but when it comes to vaccines, I'm a fan.

emmamme this is my 4th dc so i like to think im pretty laid back about it all at this stage.. Well TBH i was until i started reading about everyone going for early scans, im in ireland and we dont get our 1st scan here until 16weeks, this has always been the norm in my pregnancys apart from an early scan on #3 because of some bleeding..so ive never really given it any thought before, but now i cant get it out of my head that maybe i should book in for an earlier scan..

Anyone else feeling like this?

TishTosh21 · 27/11/2009 17:27

chulita im in exactly the same boat as you. I get really bloated after eating, even if i dont eat that much, seriously i look about 5 months pg! Apart from that I haven't got a single symptom. Doc said this is normal and many people dont but still! I want to feel something just to prove i am. I feel like a fraudster!

sevans · 27/11/2009 18:26

I'm kind of freaking out right now. I believe I am around 6 weeks. I have been spotting for the last several days. It isn't heavy, just light spotting and the color is brown. Of course I couldn't call my doctor yesterday because they were closed for Thanksgiving and it seems they are closed again today. I can't talk to her until Monday. It has happened at least once everyday this week starting with Monday night. I really should have called Wednesday!!! Luckily I'm not having any cramps to go with it. I am just really nervous. I am booked for my first scan on Tuesday so hopefully I will find out what is going on soon. I just really hope this isn't the beginning of a miscarriage.

Yes - hope all is ok sevans. Must be really hard though if u have to wait all over the weekend

Well 6 weeks now and the sickness has kicked in. Was finding it very hard to sit at my desk this morning at work. Had to keep running off to the loo... and trying to be discrete about it as nobody at work knows yet...
Just sent DH out for chips as I really can't be bothered to cook tonight! How healthy am I (not!) Will take my pregnancy vitamins and then it won't seem quite so bad...

kinnies · 27/11/2009 21:19

Hello ladies,

I'm due on 30/07/10

I have two dc, ds8 and dd22mths.

Hope your all doing well and not feeling too sickey. have a on me xx

WhatSheSaid · 28/11/2009 02:07

Sevans I'm having the same thing...well, it seems to have stopped now after about 24 hours - started with a bit of pink/red spotting and has been brown since the first bit. I phoned Healthline helpline thingy we have over here and they said I should try to see GP which I did, he said as it was light and no pain/cramps he wouldn't send me for scan yet, btu to go back if it got heavier or painful.

Had light spotting for about 24 hours and it seems to have stopped now but is still worrying. I searched the archives on here and this seems to happen to loads of people - nothing like this happened with dd so it's all a bit new to me.

The dr said to me if it's light and no pain then not to worry too much.

sevans · 28/11/2009 02:29

Thanks Whatshesaid. From all of the stuff I have read it seems pretty normal being light, painless, and brown. It still worries me though. Hopefully it won't get any worse this weekend and I will be sure to call my doctor on Monday although it probably won't make too much of a difference because I am scheduled to go in Tuesday. I hope your spotting stays away so you no longer have to worry much.

WinterMadness · 28/11/2009 07:20

Hi everyone

Hope you're feeling ok Sevans. And well done Tishrish and other stopping smoking...you're doing a brilliant job!

Had my booking appointment yesterday so got to talk through my fears about postnatal depression returning. Feel a bit happier as mw was very supportive and let's face it, I know what to look for this time so won't let it get so bad if it does strike again.

Got to be monitored for urine infections and blood pressure due to history but mw thinks I may be low dependency which surprised me after everything that happened when ds was born. So that's good.

Got Emma's diary, bounty pack, free prescriptions form and that's about it. I didn't even get The Pregnancy Book as she said it hasn't changed much so just use the one from last time! (DS is only one)

Was also warned about food to avoid but as with some others here I'm far more relaxed this time round so won't take silly risks, but if I fancy a poached egg I'll have one!!! One thing I will really miss though is the cheese board at Christmas. I think I'll ms that more than the booze, hee hee

Hope those with ms are managing ok, thinking of you

tobago04 · 28/11/2009 08:50

grumpypumpkin · 28/11/2009 13:02

Hi all!
Have not posted for a while as life has been a little hectic as we are in the middle of moving house (sold ours, in rented, purchase hanging on by a thread due to legal issues ).

Have had a few fainty feelings, and felt quite nauseous on the train the other morning. Biggest symptom seems to be wind (mine not trapped either!!) and being starving hungry or completely unable to face food.

Also am spending all the time when I am not at work crying in front of Portland Babies, either at how lovely it all is or in fear at having to actually have a baby!

My irritability also knows no bounds!! Mainly directed at my useless solicitor at the moment, or being channelled into plotting gruesome revenge for her incompetence .

Looking forward to an early NHS scan next week, as well as my booking with the midwife. Made a big fuss about not knowing my dates as periods very irregular since stopped the pill so have saved myself the money I would have paid privately . It all comes in handy at this time of year (especially with a house move and impending maternity leave on my mind!).

Glad people are doing OK, like others I now can't wait for a bit of a bump so I don't feel like such a fraudster!

Chulita · 28/11/2009 13:15

I woke up this morning feeling nauseous, ravenous, bloated and flatulent...oh the joys!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

kinnies · 28/11/2009 14:30

Hi guys hope your all having a good weekend.

Thanks gibbon

I've been really silly (esp because this is 3rd pg!!) and did another preg test today because I dont feel pg enough and keep worring that its not for real!!

I supose its because I had v. bad hypersmises (not able to keep any fluids down and had to go into hospital alot) with both of my last pg's.

Dh has just worked out that I've spent £35 on tests even though the first one was +!!!

Oh well at least I'm saving money on fags and wine

tobago04 · 28/11/2009 15:42

Thanks for the warm welcome, the test today said 2-3 wks so should be due end of july, this will be my 3rd,i have two dds already so god knows what i'm letting myself in for ha!

Congratulations Newbies!

I feel rough today. Got to go to a black tie dinner at DH's work tonight and can't find anything to wear even my maternity dress from our graduation ball won't go over my stupidly huge boobs at the minute!

Also probably not going to be able to eat anything there without vomming (back on the ice lollies for the last 24hours) and DH doesn't want to tell anyone I'm pregnant, so it's going to be a really long night

I'm having awful cramps as well. Midwife thinks this is normal considering my gynae issues, but it doesn't stop me wanting to pass out when it happens.

And it had all been going so well...

Nevermind. It's a minor inconvenience for the baby we have been ttc for 2 years!! [weak ]

kinnies · 28/11/2009 17:05

Glad its not just me then esmie Though I'm not cleaver enough to hide them from dh

tobago I'm on number 3 as well but had a 6yr gap between ds and dd so dont know what to expect having 3 dc with one newborn and a 2.7yr old dd.

I know lots of peeps cope with a much smaller age gap than that, but how???
