Claire you have my sympathies, i too thought it was all starting for me on Wednesday evening, but the mild contractions i was having, ground to a halt about midnight and nothing bar Braxton Hicks since. I had consultant appt re my planned VBAC yesterday, she examined me and said wasnt waters leaking as i had thought, just copious amounts of watery discharge. She had a feel of babs and says he still head down, and free, and he feels 'a good weight already'-oo-er! Im still good to go for my VBAC, but as where my mw said they would only let me go to 41 weeks before evicting babs, consultant said no reason why i cant go to 42 or even over if babs is still ok not sure if keen on going over 42 weeks, will try anything and everything if i go over my due date i think!

Re the RLT- i wasnt aware you could take capsules AND tea, i thought it was either/or.
Im drinking 3 cups of RLT a day and i thinks its lovely!.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Scorps for today. Anything nice planned??

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/11/2009 12:49

Well I have finished my Christmas shopping (with exception of DH, but I always buy his last!)
Thanks for sharing Millie I shall think of you if im in labour by tonight!
Am now going to take advantage of no DS and clean the place from top to bottom.

Hope everyone is well.

BlueChampagne · 20/11/2009 12:51

Feeling a bit sorry for myselftoday - DS has been waking early all week but this morning took the biscuit - 4.40am! DH got him back to sleep eventually but could do without the additional interruption to sleep on top of bog trips and being booted. Oh, and I think I'm getting a cold too . So, sitting in the office drinking more tea and coffee than I probably should.

Claire236 · 20/11/2009 12:58

Millie - due 7 Dec, wouldn't expect you to remember my due date. It's my second, got 4 year old ds already.

Annie - thought my waters were leaking & got told the same thing. Why would anyone want to go over 42 weeks. I think most of us are pretty fed up already.

anniebigpants · 20/11/2009 13:03

Well done ABF-Thats super organised of you. I must do mine next week, as only 11 days to my due date. Must be a nice feeling knowing you are all sorted.

Blue-Hope the cold stays away, and you start getting more sleep. Its bad enough getting woke up by LO kicking you, and numerous toilet trips, without having DC,s waking you. My DS wakes occasionally, usually cos of bad dream or quilt has fallen off, its always me that sorts him out, i get a bit pissed off with DH, as he thinks its OK for me to be getting up as 'i dont have work to get up for in the morning'!

Scorps · 20/11/2009 13:33

Blue - hope you get some more sleep today, I haven't been sleeping well either, but thats down to me not dc. Get some rest in the days if you can.

Thankyou for my birthday wishes .

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/11/2009 14:58

Lol Annie, The easy bit is done now. Its the wrapping that I find hard, every year I dread the wrapping and this year I cant even have my usual codiene washed down with several glasses of Baileys to take the pain away! I would ask DH but then they would look awful.

Is anyone else experiencing the desperately needing a wee but when you get to the loo you find it hard to go and theres an awful pressing down feeling?

GoldenSnitch · 20/11/2009 15:20

I've been having the 'really need a wee, get there and there's a trickle' thing. Or, even more annoyingly 'have a wee, stand up and immediately feel like I'm desperate for another'!

It's so annoying.

Happy Birthday Scorps

Thanks for the sympathy! Shouldn't really complain as I've had it pretty easy compared to some of you guys. Some more sleep over the weekend should do the trick.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Milliemuffin · 20/11/2009 15:47

Need a moan - nothing to do with pregnancy or baby.

Had a really good day yesterday (DS ate chicken/mushroom/bacon rice when he's usually really fussy and he put himself back to bed without me asking twice or going up to sit with him) but today is not so good. About 18months ago my dad gave me a stereo he wasnt using, a good one (techniks) but about a month ago we decided to be really ruthless and had a major clear out of our loft including the stereo that we'd never got round to setting up (it was quite big with big speakers), we very rarely listen to cd's as everything is on itunes but we took the stereo cos it was a good one. Well this morning dad asked for it back saying his friend wanted it and that he's 'very disappointed I never even set it up let alone binned it without asking!'. I kind of see why he's a bit annoyed but as if I need him having a go at me at the moment. He has about 3 decent stereos around his house and would never have wanted it back for personal use. Just gutted that he's making such an issue out of it when I have much bigger things to worry about whereas he's retired and has very little else to worry about. I have apologised but he's still p'd off and I feel awful but at the time I genuinely didnt think he'd mind, we'd had it so long and it hadn't been mentioned

LittleMonkeysMummy · 20/11/2009 15:48

Hi everyone

Just back from my 34 week appointment with the midwife and the head is 4/5ths enagaged - eek!! She doesn't seem to think I'll last til my due date which probably means I'll end up being induced at 42 weeks +

Am desperate for DH to get back from offshore next week so I can get some help around the house as DD seems to have hit the terrible 2's early . Feels like he's been away for ages not just 5 weeks!

Am also constantly needing to pee - usually about 2 seconds after I've been

Hope everyone is well and has a fab weekend

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 20/11/2009 16:26

Bleurgh I feel sick

That's it, just wanted to share!

BexJ78 · 20/11/2009 18:53

i still feel miserable. baboo's head is pressing down loads and making me feel really uncomfortable. went into town today to meet up with friends from NCT and do a bit of shopping with DH. By time we had walked back to the car, i felt like I could have cried!! Just for no reason, just sick of heaving my massive body around and having to walk slowly everywhere... I shouldn?t complain as I have had it really easy up until now, but just feel so uncomfortable. And people keep telling me to sleep and i am really struggling as keep having to get up in the night to go for a pee!!
saw MW this morning for 38 week check and she said that everything was fine and then also added "hopefully won't see you in a fortnight because you might have had it!!!" Head still 3/5 engaged, so no change. Off visiting rellies this weekend so hoping my waters don't break on my Gran's carpet...she is very house proud!

LaDiDaDi · 20/11/2009 19:00

I had loads of trapped wind pain last night too, it was terrible.

Feeling this evening as dd suddenly burst into tears and told me "I really, really don't want a baby Mummy. I want him to not come out of your tummy so that it stays just me and you and Daddy" [sob]. She was so insistent and upset it was awful. I just kept on telling her how much mummy and daddy loved her and that she would always be our girl.

Any advice appreciated!

Happy Birthday Scorps.

Mybox · 20/11/2009 20:12

HAppy Birthday Scorps

Here just feeling very tired and wondering when I'll give birth. Will it be during the 2 week visit of pil in 8 days time or will it be three weeks early like before. We'd have to call our friends on our emergency list but they also have kids and work & I'd worry about dd5 who's 2yrs as we've only had a babysitter three times so she's not used to being looked after at home by other people. Also hope it's quick as before so dh can be able to get back home for her.

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 20/11/2009 20:48

Happy Birthday Scorps

LaDiDaDi - had a similar thing with DD today too. She's been happy enough with us talking about the baby and that she'll be a big sister etc etc. Today my Dad came round and helped me put up the border in the nursery so it does look more "finished" now, and she was very quiet. Once he'd gone she's asked for cuddles and then while she was on my lap she started saying she didn't want me to have a baby and that I just wanted her. Tried telling her it'll be nice, she'll be able to give Baby hugs and that I can cuddle both of them but it wasn't working. She then came up with a solution which seemed to pacify her. "You can give different hugs to Baby, Mummy". So thats how we talk about it now. I'll love her and I'll love Baby in a different way.

Am currently kneeling on the floor with the laptop on the sofa as it's the only comfortable position for me - do not think Baby has dropped!! Should get round to packing my hospital bag really (even though hoping for Homebirth)

ViktoriaMac · 21/11/2009 00:16

'have a wee, stand up and immediately feel like I'm desperate for another'! - absolutely, I think I stood up and sat back down about 5 times in a row last night. Went for 36 week appointment today, still breech. Very of those engaged in any way.

mwncigirl · 21/11/2009 00:31

I've managed 3 in a row so far so 5 times is good going I reckon!

madmissy · 21/11/2009 10:57

hope you had a lovely birthday scorps!!

i'm with you all on the bladder situ!

its sooo annoying!

my head has been in a spin last few days trying to figure out if i want the SF jab or not and have decided against it.

the girls have been good and not had any wobble moments on a new arrival... so far!

has anyone noticed though that the youngest is acting like a baby?

its like dd2 is jealous already!?

only 30 days to go! so of all you that are due early dec!!!

anniebigpants · 21/11/2009 12:45

Happy Saturday ladies! Had a bad night last night, was up from 4am with bad diarrhea and feeling really sick, but couldnt be sick, i couldnt get comfy, was up and down, had c ontractions, stronger than BH, but all over the place. So either im going into labour, or have a stomach upset. Ive had a long soak in the bath and had contractions while in their and having some since getting out of the bath.
I know this might sound like a really stupid question, but bear with me, it was 4 years since i last laboured, and was induced, so totally different scenario BUT-how do proper contractions differ from BH?? The ones im having feel stronger than BH, start at the top of my bump and travel down so i can feel them in my back and cervix area. Ive taken paracetamol, but am no where near in need of proper pain relief yet.

charleymouse · 21/11/2009 14:23

Okay ladies
off to Center Parcs last night, had a lovely time all the Christmas stuff out and DCs so excited. Had a lovely evening, went shopping out for a meal and then walked through all the Christmas lights and decorations. Saw reindeer and everything was really magical. Ate cheese late on and had indigestion and cramps all night. Was up from 3:25 until 4:55 sat on the loo. Waters went at 7:15 this morning in bed, got up and pootled around, told DH at 8:15 and got Mum to come and look after DCs they should by now on their pony rides to santas woodland workshop.

Drove home and started having contractions ended up 5 mins apart, rang MW as soon as home. Had a shower and they fell right off. MW been round and sent me to hospital for Group B Strep swabs, back at home now and having intermittent contractions. Waters still leaking.

DH has just popped me the TENS machine on. Will keep you updated as and when something happens. Keep your fingers crossed as booked in for induction on Tuesday if baby not here by then, off to go and yomp around to try and walk this baby out of here.

Much love CM x

Goldensnitch cheers for the chocolate, I have just had some.
Sorry to miss your birthday Scorps, hope you had a nice day.

Scorps · 21/11/2009 14:30

charleymouse!! I hope you're ok, keep mobile, have some food

Had a great birthday thanks everyone.

I have been offered SF jab, Pandemrix, on 14 dec (i will be 11 days away from EDD). DH & I just don't know what to do!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/11/2009 14:50

Oooh to anniebigpants and charleymouse, hope things are coming along well.
Looks like we are finally getting some babies on the December thread!!

Did something naughty today. DH, DS and I went on a trip to DFS and bought a sofa.
Whoops. Christmas delivery so I am now picturing myself cuddling my little baby on my lovely new reclining three piece suite.

No news on baby front still in there, still wriggling and doing aerobics, still wanting to pee every 5 minutes.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/11/2009 14:51

Sorry Scorps missed your birthday I hope you had a nice day!

Moosy · 21/11/2009 15:00

I haven't been offered the jab yet, apparently our surgery hasn't had any in yet. I was fairly decided that I wouldn't have it, but quite a few people (mostly children) in our village have had it really badly. Our builder's son was really ill with it on thursday night - temp of 106 (41) and hallucinating and I just don't want me or the girls to get that ill, it worries me, so I will have it if they get their arses in gear and get some in in the next 2 weeks!

I felt really heavy and achey yesterday and had a lot of downwards pressure but it's gone now so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Very of you Charleymouse and Annie, hope things kick off properly for you soon!
