AmazingBouncingFerret · 23/11/2009 08:28

For those wanting to tend to lady gardens try standing over a mirror.
Im very lazy and just going to get DH do it though. He even shaved my legs last week had to keep telling him off because he was so gentle it tickled!

Thought things were getting going yesterday, was looking at wedding venues with my sister when I started getting pains which were coming every half hour or so. So I went home for a lie down and when it came to babysitting my nephew the pains were every 15/20 minutes. Had an awful night feeling like something was happening so trying to get some sleep so I wouldnt be knackered and when I wake up this morning. Im Bloody fine!!

Mybox · 23/11/2009 08:58

Having BH as well & feel dd has moved downwards. Had dd5 three weeks early so tomorrow is my 37wks moment.

Anyone finding it hard to believe they'll actually be having a baby!

Mybox · 23/11/2009 09:07

Charleymouse - I've had strep B & dc needed antibiotics as no time in labour. Hope your stay in hospital goes quickly.

One thing that dd3 got from the antibiotics was oral thrush & she needed a cream to clear this up. Look out for any white patches in the mouth.

sparklycheerymummy · 23/11/2009 11:19

hi guys..... just looked at another thread where they are talking about clary sage oil..... anyone heard whether it actually does any good bringing labour on!???

Claire236 · 23/11/2009 11:29

Charley - sorry you've had to go into hospital. Hopefully it will go quickly for you.

Sparkly & Annie - can we make it vodka?

dh has been doing my bikini line for me after my last attempt was not very successful.

Am I desperate enough to get this baby out to consider sex. I'm seriously thinking about it. dh is willing (when isn't he)

Never heard anything about clary sage oil but will ask a friend who's an aromatherapist among other things.

sparklycheerymummy · 23/11/2009 11:32

thanks claire..... apparently u mix it with a carrier oil and rub into your back and bump or put into your bath! Going to pin him to bed tonight as I actually quite fancy it and lets face it it will be last time i can use being pregnant as an excuse for lying on my back letting him do hard work!!!!!

Scorps · 23/11/2009 11:34

I tried clary sage oil in a burner with dd, it bloody stinks and brings on contractions, but 'fake' ones iyswim.

Sex works, although why it works at term and not all through my pregnancies is beyond me, i think baby just comes as and when you know!

Charley, thinking of you and new dd.

Scorps · 23/11/2009 13:34

New thread

Other one is taking too long on my laptop!

Catz · 23/11/2009 13:41

Hope all goes well at the hospital Charley.

I tried clary sage oil (couple of drops mixed with almond oil and rubbed in bump) but the only effect it seemed to have was DD coming in the room this morning and saying 'your room smells of wet pepper'! TBH I don't really think any of these things work unless your body is ready but I'll keep trying just in case (sips more raspberry leaf tea...)

Mybox - I know what you mean about not believing you're have a baby. I'm all ready practically - meals in the freezer, clothes washed, bags (mostly) packed etc - but I don't think the reality has hit me at all. I was worrying about this to DH last night. I don't really spend time feeling dewy eyed about the prospect of holding the baby etc and I was a bit worried about whether this says anything about how I'll feel afterwards. Thinking back though I think it was like this with DD and all went well there - I think it might be a bit of a self protection thing i.e. not believing it till everything is 'safe'.

legscrossed · 23/11/2009 16:01

charley congrats we've got our first baby!

Kingsroadie · 23/11/2009 17:03

Congrats Charley! Very exciting!

Am 38+5 and trying literally everything - I know I am not lkely to have her yet but am so impatient...sex seems to bring on v strong BH and period type pains and some backache but they die down after about 4 hours...

Re earlier posts about hotmilk bras / nursing bras in general I have found this website which I think is really good - the service is very personal - I have spoken to the chap who runs it several times now - and the hotmilk bras are a lot cheaper than in shops. He also has a lot of stock. I really really love hotmilk so this was a real find for me . Hope this link works www.nursingbra.co.uk

Fingers crossed some more babes appear soon!

LaDiDaDi · 23/11/2009 21:15

A rl friend, though not at all local to me, had her baby early yesterdat, she was due on Dec 23rd. Haven't heard all of the details yet and I suspect it was a total shock but I'm feeling very .

Just spotted that link to a new thread..wil pop over now!

Mybox · 23/11/2009 22:18

Had lots of bh this evening with backache & having to go to the loo. Has calmed down. Had a panic about having to give birth - have been through it before with no pain relief & everything fine but still feel apprehensive. When I had the backache I thought oh no I'll have to go through this again.

1petshortofazoo · 24/11/2009 09:17

Good morning!

feeling totally horrible today.... I'm not supposed to finish work until friday but after a very busy and exhausting day yesterday resulting in tears when I got home... I decided I wouldn't go in today. I had my swine flu gab yesterday so my arm is killing me and i'm not sleeping well at all. just the joys of pregnancy...

well anyway, I text my boss this morning saying I felt unwell and wont be in today and her reply was, 'well i've got a head ache but i'm still going in' I was so shocked it took me about 5mins to reply, and i just put sorry to hear that but im not coming in.
the hard thing is we are really good friends out of work but she has been really off with me for a few months.
they have already employed my replacement and there is plenty of staff in today to cope with me not being there and I was going back in tomorrow. but now I feel I dont want to go back at all this week after spending most of the morning crying, DP is not very impressed and told me not to go back but i'm starting to feel guilty aready.... HELP!!

anniebigpants · 24/11/2009 10:50

1pet- i am very and on your behalf at your boss! FFS the reason you arent going in, and her having a headache are two completely different things, im sure if you had a headache you would go in, but you're heavily pregnant and getting tired. Are you in a position to start your Maternity Leave now, i would!

1mum1 · 24/11/2009 11:51

Hello! I've only just stumbled accross this thread - am due in a week. Baby seems still very high up - keeps waggling her bum at me! so can't imagine she's in much of a rush!

Catz · 24/11/2009 14:11

Welcome 1mum1 - this thread was getting too long so we've now moved to the final (?!) thread here

BlueChampagne · 26/11/2009 12:48

1pet - don't forget she can stuff herself with the drugs of choice to get through the day and you can't/shouldn't! Tiredness may also be a reaction to SF jab. Get as much sleep as you can and you'll feel better about everything.

Charleymouse - exciting news! Hope you're not too bored.
